Cold drinks and wash cloths when reboarding

I recall every cruise ship providing these but not MSC even in ports near the equator like Panama, Cartagena, Costa Rica, etc. Is this only an MSC cutback or have others also cutback?

I imagine that is a possible item on every mass market line’s cutback list. If  Carnival and NCL see MSC saving money that way, why not?

Ncl gave them in November.

I have not noticed  them on any line we have been on  pre covid

Maybe I just never looked for them

NCL has always offered cold cloths, water and punch. I don't recall Oceania doing so and I was surprised by that when I took my first Oceania cruise some years ago since NCL is the mass market line in the NCLH group while Oceania is its upscale sibling. It's small but pleasant amenity in warm climates.

RCI it's hit/miss but nothing you can count on. Our October RCI Serenade Panama Canal itinerary did have water at some of our docks but not all.

Usually set out on a table right next to the gangway.

They sometimes had drinks in the tent by the dock so maybe cloths  there also but I never usually stop there  ..just head back onboard

Just returned from a Princess cruise thru the Panama Canal.  Ice water (plain, orange and cucumber) and cold wash cloths at each port, including the tender one.  They also had a tent set up with some seating.  Very much  appreciated in the hot and humid climates.

And for cold weather excursions - Cunard had hot chocolate waiting after evening excursions in Tromso Norway this past November.

One of my fondest memories from our first cruise which was in August 2002 in the Western Mediterranean was the lemonade that RCL provided at the gangplank when returning to the ship.
