The Patter has a New Name

We were on the Sapphire in January and February. While I didn't notice the name change then I can't say I recall it being called the Princess Patter either. For us its main usefulness was the listing of time when venues were open. Secondary was the event overview.

What I do remember is that there was a disclaimer that the printed sheet doesn't contain all the events going on during the day but is just a sample of them. The MedallionClass app's Journey View feature is supposed to be the definitive source for all events. I found Journey View to be clunky and difficult to use on a phone-sized device. The big screens around the ship were easier.

BTW, I see Danny Rembadi is still on board. He's great! His classical guitar performed in the Piazza is something not to be missed and his performances in the Wheelhouse Bar on a regular acoustic guitar are a lot of fun.

Totally agree.

We saw him last night in the Wheelhouse, he is very talented and entertaining.

We are currently onboard the Sapphire and noticed that the paper "Patter" is now called the Princess Event Listings.

GS told us this change happened awhile ago.  We never noticed!  🤭

Quietly changing things but not updating the website?  Oh yes, sounds like the beverage packages.  Hmmm

Today on the website:

3. Onboard Activities

You won't need to memorize all the activities and events each day. During turn-down service, your cabin steward will leave you a copy of the Princess Patter, a newsletter that will tell you when the casino opens, the hours for the health and fitness center, what pool the volleyball game is taking place in, daily tips for cruising, and an hourly listing of all other happenings on board.

I don’t know when it changed either but it was some time between last March and last November. My March cruise had Patters and my November had Princess Event Listings.

“Princess Event Listings” sounds like a placeholder name until they come up with something better. Maybe they should have a contest.

It’s still Princess Patter on the App>preferences >room….

Oh wait….they don’t update that either.

On the app it is named “Journey View Activities Timeline”. The names and changes are ridiculous.

Now club class is reserve collection.  The purser desk is guest services. The maitre d’hotel is director of restaurant operations.

funny that the love boat is still the love boat, and has not been renamed the “ship of random romance”

The Patter was name after someone named Patricia.  Trivia from a Captain Circle Party.  Don’t recall what her importance was, but she may have BEEN someone special.

So they’ve taken away their namesake.  How sad and disrespectful.

No worse than not even being able to remember why it was named after her.

I am not a trivia person.  I harbor factoids.  I do not retain information that I deem not important.  On the other hand, this must have been important to Princess to name the daily events for Patricia for years.
