Good morning,

I was up early and got to it. I am my second load of laundry and ready for the day. It is hard to believe I leave in 3 days. I am still shuffling clothes around.  It will be a sunny but windy day. DGS has a game today. I may not go and keep DGD home with me so the parents can enjoy the game. She is 2 and not the best at these events.

I am sad to hear that @JazzyVfell. That is a fear of mine. I don’t always pay close attention to what I am doing. I hope it is only bruises. Jacqui I am sorry that you still aren’t feeling great. I am sure by tomorrow you will be better. Prayers to others on the care list. Everyone have a great day.

Oops, I don’t know what I was thinking with the last line. I don’t think you had a health  problem.  🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m glad you still provide content and post on your cruise!

Good morning.  It’s nice to see a quote from Robert Benchley.  He was one of the group of funny people who hung out at the Algonquin Hotel in NYC.  DD and I had a cocktail there to see what the place is like.
I would love to find a good hairstyle, don’t much care for jazz or tofu, but definitely appreciate honesty.   Somehow Norway keeps being postponed for us.  Some day.

@StLouisCruisers, congratulations to Ren on another win and thanks for the great photos of Eidfjord.

And thanks also to @Mtn2Sea  and @richwmn for the snowy version. Interesting!

Oh no, @JazzyV about the tumble!  I hope it doesn’t hold you back too much!

@Cruzin Terri, you deserved that TV day.  Hopefully the organizing will go quickly.

@kazu, how lousy that you got sick on top of the surgery, but glad you’re prepping for the arrival of Ivan.  He looks like a sweetie.  Can’t wait to hear about his arrival.

We were in Eidfjord five days ago while on the Zuiderdam.  We took the waterfalls and waffle excursion offered by HAL.  The Vøringsfossen Waterfalls were beautiful, but everyone had to be careful walking to the viewpoints because of the snow and ice.

Thanks for sharing your photos of Eidfjord taken on your cruise.  Lots of snow still to melt there.  The snowmobile photo reminds me of the good, old days when we lived in Michigan.🏔️

Good morning. It’s almost 11AM, as we’ve had 5 time changes since leaving FLL. I like the days and quote. Pass on the meal, drink and wine. I haven’t been to Eidfjord.

Still rough seas and 50 mph winds through tonight. Yesterday coming in from a deck, I didn’t see the step up, and fell; I landed on my knees. Several passengers came right over, asking if I needed medical. Fortunately I just bruised both knees and have tenderness and bruising. Nothing broken, but walking is painful today.

Prayers for all in need and Celebration for those with good news.

Vanessa, I'm really sorry to hear about your mishap with the step up.  I hope it doesn't affect your upcoming days on the cruise and following vacation.  Prayers for fast healing and your bruises and pain going away quickly.🙏

@JazzyV, I am so glad you are only bruised!  That must have been scary.  So glad other passengers were around to help you!

Wow, I love the port pictures!  I have to add Norway to my ever expanding bucket list!  Thanks to @StLouisCruisers, @Mtn2Sea, @richwmn for those beautiful photos!

@summer slope, thank you for the pink pineapple tini recipe.

Did anyone else watch hours of the NFL draft?  We were hoping a hometown player, who went on to play for Texas would be drafted, and he was!  Guess we will be watching Chicago Bears games along with Texans and Cowboys this fall!

@StLouisCruisers, such good news about REN’s team!

Have a wonderful Sunday, Daily friends!

Thank you for your congratulation to Ren.  They work (and play) so, so hard!  And yes, you definitely need to see Norway.  It's an incredibly beautiful country.

Great collection of days.  Jazz is fabulous music and honesty is the best policy (unless it’s hurtful).  The things you learn!  - had no idea about Mr. Potato-head.

Love that quote by Benchley.  There are times when it is best we say nothing.  And a white wine today?  Yum - hope it isn’t too oaky.  Appreciate the pics of today’s port since I am not getting to Norway this May.

I’ll pass on the meal - need something easy to digest for the time being.

Hoping to get out later to get some earth and choose Ivan’s dog food - it’s the only thing I am missing (I think), assuming I”m not too wobbly.  So far, moving slowly, so good.  I’ll see how it goes 🤞

@JazzyVso sorry to hear about your fall on board 😔 I’m glad you didn’t break something and hope the hurt goes away fast so you can enjoy.

There was a Bon Voyage missing yesterday for the 6th - mine. 😔 But, with sutures in my elbow, I definitely made the right decision.

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a toast 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

However I do hope to get to church in person today as one of our Cub Scouts will take a leadership role and be presented his God and Family award.  I'm just concerned that there will likely be a downpour this morning.

You too, Roy!  I wish no one ever had to cancel a cruise due to health but you know your health best.  Hoping it isn't raining hard during your journey to church.  Best wishes to your Cub Scout receiving his award today.

Good luck getting your clothes together for your cruise.  I'm up doing laundry (sheets) today too, though I'd rather lounge around in bed all day.  This is my day off from exercise.  And with the heavy rain and dimness we're having we really don't feel very energetic.

What sport is your DGS in?  I totally understand a 2 year old not being appreciative of attending his games. Have a good day!

Good morning!  WE have beautiful sunshine to start our day but with more rain and cold weather.  Wet snow predicted for May 1 here.    I got a lot done outside yesterday before the rain and it was much warmer than they had predicted.   I got all three holes dug for my Winterberries though one needs some touchup.

@Mtn2Sea, @StLouisCruisers and @richwmn thank you for the photos of Eidfjord.    A place I would love to go to.   Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Reports.   I will be honest, I don't like jazz.   I have a great hairdresser.   I will pass on all three comestibles today but thanks for researching them for us.

@JazzyV I hope your knees feel better and I am glad people came to help. @superoma  Thank you for the Cares and Celebrations report.    Prayers for all on our list, our group who are healing after surgery and for the people of Ukraine.

@lobsternight  Bon Voyage!!

Be careful @kazu, and don’t try to do too much.  Is there someone who could help you carry the heavy things, like dog food.  As big and sweet as Ivan looked, his food must be a large and heavy size.

I hope Ivan brings you much joy.  And Hope your elbow heals and gets stronger before Ivan comes!  It’s heartwarming that you are welcoming him.  Just take care of yourself first.   You sound like me, very independent and don’t feel like I need help.  But I’ve learned it is OK to ask, and to accept help, I hope you don’t mind the advice,   I know how big dogs can put stress on our joints, just with their size and weight,  praying for quick healing for you 🙏🏻

Good morning, everyone!

It is a gloomy day out today in mid-Michigan.  That is probably ok as we can spend the day unpacking and putting some of this stuff away.  As it stands right now, Sue can't get to her bed because of all the stuff surrounding it.  I think that has to take first priority.  We'll figure out the stuff in the guest room and garage later.

Today's meal is a miss for me as well, but I might keep it tucked away for my vegetarian friends some day.  I think I would like this one with chicken and cauliflower rice.  https://www.wellplated.com/tofu-stir-fry/

And this one has broccoli and red bell pepper.  You can use any vegetable you like in a stir fry.  https://www.skinnytaste.com/tofu-stir-fry-with-vegetables-in-a-soy-sesame-sauce/

@JazzyV no more falls!   Hope the bruising is minimal and you are back at full strength pronto.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

We were in Eidfjord twice last summer.  We did back to back Norwegian cruises.  Eidfjord was on the first itinerary, but not the second.  The itinerary kept changing for the second week and two days before, Eidfjord showed up.  We were thrilled.  It is a cute little fjord town and we really enjoyed our time there.

The first day was warm and sunny.  We did the Troll Train and then after lunch and ice cream, we did the RIB adventure.

Sue and I were checking out the real estate in Eidfjord.  She thought this would be great because she could fish from the house for our dinner.

You get a different perspective when you are down close to the water.  It was fun doing donuts on the fjord.

On our second visit Sue and I hiked to lake outside of town.  It was a perfect day for hiking - not too hot and not too cold and no rain.

I'll skip over the special days, but I've been a fan of Robert Benchley since I was in high school--and no, he was not still alive at that time.

Tofu stir-fry is something that I make fairly frequently. No pineapple cocktails for me. The wine is probably OK, if not over-oaked. I haven't been to Eidfjord.

I slept until it was time to get up this morning, the first time in a week.

Today I teach Hebrew at 9:30, then maybe a quick trip to the grocery. A film screening this afternoon, and then a trip to Staples to recycle tech for the monthly bonus (one per month through June something) and buy name tags for an event on Wednesday. It is raining and will rain all the time for the next several days.

Thanks kindly.  I’ve gotten pretty skilled at handling heavy stuff.  The earth and dog food will go on a dolly and in the garage, for now.  If it’s too hard, never fear, I will ask one of my kind neighbours for help.  And, your advice is appreciated.

My elbow is going to take time but I walk a dog with my left hand, not my right 😉. And I will just have to remember to try to throw his ball and toys with my left hand.   I think it will be ok. 🤞

Good morning from sunny, and not windy central Texas.  It is currently 54F, but will warm to 85F this afternoon with a light breeze.

My hair is also very short which makes traveling easier.  While I'm not a fan of jazz, some is nice to listen to.  Everyday should be honesty day, and if you can't be honest; then, don't say anything.

The Robert Benchley quote goes well with honesty day.

We'll definitely pass on the meal, drink, and wine.

We were in Eidfjord in 2016 on the Prinsendam.  I'll look for my pictures soon.

@lobsternight  Bon Voyage, and have a great cruise.

Ship.png.6dcfa6cff5a303c0593e8d0f16d8f68d.png

@JazzyV  Vanessa, I'm sorry about your fall and your sore knees.  If you have some available, I've found Aspercreme works well in relieving pain.  It made a big difference last spring when I fell and really hurt my knee.

@Cruzin Terri  Terri, you deserved and needed a day off yesterday.  Good luck sorting the clothes and arranging the closet.

@kazu  Jacqui, it sounds like you are feeling better, but take it easy until you are 100 percent.

@rafinmd  Roy, I hope the rain holds off until you get home from church.

@cruising sister  Lorraine, have fun with DGD if you decide to skip the game, and keep her so her parents can enjoy the game.

@dfish  Debbie, I hope you can make some headway with all the boxes.

Thank you to all who posted pictures today.  The town looks very different with all the snow.

Once again thanks for all the great photos of Norway. I will copy and put in my photo album and pretend I have been their with my friends from the CC!

Also forgot it’s hairstyle day. This is the one day I let my hair down and I mean my one hair left instead of having it as a comb over. 😀

On our second visit Sue and I hiked to lake outside of town.  It was a perfect day for hiking - not too hot and not too cold and no rain.

Looking down the river towards the fjord.  They do have a glamping place close to the fjord and on the river, but I didn't take a picture of that.

Eidfjord is a beautiful town and I'd love to go back someday.

Beautiful summer time photos of Eidfjord.  I think we need a summer home in Norway!

I've decided I can't spend so many hours trying to keep up with my reading of the HAL threads.  I've got to be disciplined and try to allot a certain number of hours a day working on creating photo books for my last few cruises.  In the past it would be unheard of for a book not to be completed within one month of returning from said cruise.  It's a good thing I keep a diary/journal while on the ship so I can get the details right.  Starting on that today!

On August 8, 2016, the Prinsendam and Captain Tim Roberts took us to Eidfjord.

We took the tourist train which took us to an overlook above the town where we had a good view of the Prinsendam.

This intrepid soul is a lot braver than I am.  That water, even with a dry suit, would be too cold for me.

I'm glad we were there on a warm, relatively, sunny day with just  clouds around the mountain tops.

The alarm has been set for 6 a.m for the last three days.  I had to get up to watch the F1 race.  My favorite driver won.

And work day  Today is buy the cat food and crunchies, and Fawn's food (she only likes temptations) but right now, I am going to take a nap.  It cool, with light rain. Close the blinds and just catch up on the 6 hours of sleep i have missed in the last three days.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily report. The right hairstyle is very important, mine is currently bed head. I listen to jazz every evening.  Honesty Day should be every day, nothing as tiresome as a liar.  The quote is pretty funny.  I’ll skip the meal suggestion but might try the drink.  I haven’t been to today’s port but I sure would like to.  Prayers for all on our prayer list. Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today! 🥂

Good Morning from a very stormy day at the beach

We have been in this weather pattern now for several days. Getting a lot of rain which is needed. Had a small break yesterday morning and we went golfing. First time all week!

I love my hair stylist, he has been cutting my hair for 25 years. I still go back to him in Orlando.

Not a fan of tofu. Tell the truth. It is one thing that I have no tolerance for is being lied to.  Have never been to Norway, despite a few attempts. Still on the list! Thank you for the beautiful pictures!

Today I will be cooking a few meals to go in the freezer. My surgery is Wednesday and will be in the hospital for a few days. It will be fine.

Stay safe and enjoy today

Good Sunday morning. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet report.

I LOVE my hairdresser. She is the one who keeps the purple in my hair.

Love all of the pictures. Norway is on my bucket list.

Cool and rainy here so I will be indoors. Packing? Yes!

Keeping everyone in my thoughts.

Have a safe and healthy day.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I appreciate my hairstyle for the fact that it's easy to maintain.  To be perfectly honest, I'm just not a fan of jazz.  Especially the stuff where there are just a bunch of notes being played seemingly at random.

Although it went down to 0 last night, this morning we've got bright sunshine and clear blue skies again.  I'm starting to see the little nubbins on the poplar trees which means in a couple of weeks we should see leaves popping out.  And last night as we were having dinner on the deck, we saw 2 little mourning doves having a date in the back yard.  I do hope they make a nest nearby, one that is safe from predators like magpies and crows.  The last time a pair nested in one of the spruce trees, it was raided by the flying killers.

@JazzyV sorry to hear about your fall; I hope the bruising is minor.

@kazu I hope you're feeling much better soon.

I heard on the news yesterday that the town of Udan where our young Ukrainian family came from (and where many family members still reside) had been hit by a rocket .  Apparently an apartment only a couple of blocks away from a sister's house was hit, causing great devastation.  I contacted our friends to make sure everyone was okay, then made another donation to the Red Cross for more assistance.  It's hard to know what to do when you're so far away.

It will be a busy day for us today, as the executive from DH's historical group is meeting at our place.  The deck is all ready for them (I can't believe how dusty it got in just 1 day!), but will have to run the swiffer over the floor and a duster over the surfaces one last time before they arrive.  I'm making a big charcuterie board for them to enjoy after the meeting, so I won't have to make dinner for us tonight, as the meetings usually go late in the afternoon.  Once the group is gone, we can just sit on the deck enjoying the sun and warmth and listen to the returning robins fighting for real estate in the trees.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone in need, cheers for those with celebrations.

Smooth Sailing!  ☺️☺️☺️

Gerry
