@Georgia_PeachesI was the one asking about bringing wine on board.  Actually, today I received an email reply from Celebrity in response to a query I sent a few weeks ago:

In terms of alcoholic drinks, starting on July 1, 2023 guests are allowed to bring only one (1) 750 mL bottle wine/champagne, per adult of drinking age, per sailing on embarkation day. No other alcoholic beverages are permitted to be carried on. Kindly note, there is a $25.00-per-bottle corkage fee for guests who choose to consume this alcohol in any of the ship’s bars, lounges or restaurants.

Should you have any lingering questions or concerns, I encourage you to contact us at 844-418-6824.

*****************

Enjoy your cruise!  PS: Love the face shirt!!

Thank you!  I guess today was the change over day to the new policy (new cruise). so good to know they got back to you!

I do love a party and I’m certainly not shy about my cocktails but I have to say that I am somewhat disappointed in some of the clientele sharing ship space with me at the moment. We are well into sail away and several passengers who clearly don’t know their limits think it’s great fun to shout obscenities and lewd remarks to boats passing by in the sound from their balcony above. Obnoxious. If I didn’t know better I’d guess I was on carnival… I certainly hope they pipe down in the coming days. Far be it for me to rain on anyone’s parade but jeez…show a little class!  End of rant. 😎

That is beyond sad...

Frankly I haven't seen that type of behavior on any of my cruises. However, I've never cruised Carnival...

😞 Definitely sad. (And yes, based on my encounter on a hotel shuttle to the Port of Miami when I was on Fathom to Cuba and the DR and shared the shuttle with people heading to a Carnival ship who had clearly begun "pre-gaming" at breakfast based on them already slurring, I'd agree with your assessment. Literal conversation: Guy 1 - So what are we doing as soon as we get on board? Girl 1 - Find a bar and get drinks. Guy 2 and Girl 2 laughed and nodded.)

Happy to report that things have mellowed. Or perhaps my rowdy friends have passed out 😜. Anyway, dinner service in the MDR rivaled any meal I’ve enjoyed in Luminae. We had prime rib as our main with the veal spaghetti for the table. I started with the mushroom soup and DH had the shrimp cocktail. We finished with the apple pie and the chocolate moose. All was delicious. The staff are hard working and service was excellent.

We warmed up in the casino and I’m up a bit!  New to me this cruise is the tap and play technology on the machines. Simply tap your card and you’re good to go!

Heading to the comedy show at 9.

Last night’s comedy show featured David Bozeman. He was actually pretty good!  He is performing again tonight in the Sky Lounge…his adult show so I think we’ll try check that

out.

And speaking of the Sky Lounge, after the comedy show we went there for karaoke (of sorts). Passengers selected songs from a play book but instead of a karaoke machine playing the music, it was a live band. Additionally, the host and one other sang back up vocals. Now my singing voice sounds great in my head…and the shower…but I wouldn’t dare subject a live audience to it but I have to say I am in awe of some of the talent of my fellow passengers! They were awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed the event!

We called it a night at almost midnight. It was truly one of the most fun embarkation days ever.

Today we have a time change by one hour which my martini head needs 🥂 and we are going to try the Elite breakfast and then chill in the solarium for a bit.

More later…

ps. @mafig, I know that you appreciate good a/c report and I’m happy to say our room has been cool enough for comfortable sleeping. I will also admit that I might have snuck a peek around the privacy walls of both our neighbors to assess if they were open door sleepers…neither appears to be 😎

Peaches- How goes vaping in the casino, please?  I am very dismayed that this is being allowed

In light of the recent change i tried to really pay attention to vapers in the casino. Spent several hours there before dinner and a little more time between shows. I didn’t encounter anyone vaping last night. I will keep everyone updated as the week progresses.

DH has suggested that I may have been just a little crumugenous with my assessment of the behavior. “They’re just having fun!”  Says the man wearing my face on his shirt!

IDK, maybe but I just don’t find shouting obscenities at others, hooting and hollering, making lewd comments from the balcony to be very classy. I guess he and I will have to agree to disagree. But we haven’t heard a peep since which makes me wonder if someone complained.

Otherwise, everything is back on track in the behavior department.

Note to those who have newly earned their Elite status…when using the free 90 minutes of Internet be advised that turning off your wifi does not log you out!  I have spent my 90 minutes likety split because I didn’t know how to log out. Im now operating on the premium unlimited plan for the remainder of the cruise. The cost for a single device was $125 after my 30% off discount.

@Georgia_Peaches I saw on @AbbyCruiser45 review some people mentioned getting pagers for the MDR when they were on MTD. We were on Equinox last year in April and they didn't offer this service, we had to stand in line and wait.  We had booked a specific reservation for each night, but still had to wait.  Do you  know if this is something new that they offer?

We may be a little hyper-sensitive lately given all the negative changes.

My hubby attributed the crude behavior to the somewhat shorter cruise over a summer holiday.  I just don't get the obscenities and lewd comments directed at other boaters. Aren't we all blessed to be on the water on a hot summer day whether on a beautiful cruise ship or a dinghy?  🤷‍♀️  I'm hoping the targets of the crude behavior chalked it up to excess alcohol consumption and not a reflection of typical X passengers.

We did receive a paper suggesting when we should go to dinner. I will post a copy. FWIW, we went to dinner around 6:30 and we were seated right away. A nice little table for 2 by the window.

Thank you for posting this.  We ususally eat between 7 and 8 pm, so I guess that is part of the problem.  I was interested in the pagers, as it would be great to wait in the bar lol

They had it last September on Equinox, we sat in Cafe El Baccio and waited to be buzzed, half an hour wait maximum. Had we been asked to stand in a line would have been straight to the ocean view.

Did you have a reservation each night? Did they offer the pager or did you have to ask for it. Thx MJ

We had anytime dining and just went, asked for a table for 2 and if one wasn’t ready got the pager given without asking. People were still hanging around in a kind of queue holding pagers and looking impatient but we headed off and got drinks.

Sorry… misread. I didn’t notice pagers last night but I’m sure we will run into them at some point. Agree that this is a great opportunity to wait it out at the bar. Will try and find out.

You probably already know by now but going to onboardicafe.com when onboard any Celebrity ship will give you the option of logging off as well as logging back on.
