Jimmy Buffett has sailed away, yet he remains with us. 

 

Some of it's magic,

Some of it's tragic,

But I had a good life all the way.

His songs and music were played on all of our cruises..until recently. CNN tv showed a great tribute..and like him all on a positive note.

I remember listening to "A Pirate Looks at Forty" when I was still looking at my future...

 

I'll raise a tequila this evening (no mixers in the house). If you never saw him live, you missed it. The show was pretty much the same, but if the venue allowed tailgating, the Parrot Heads in the parking lot were the true event!

We live across the street from one of the Margaritavilles. It is a major party community. I expect they will have a wake with one type of drink VERY heavily consumed.

My residents and I love Jimmy Buffett so we sang some favorite songs of his and raised a few Strawberry Daiquiris in his honor.

Firstly, I hoped the cruise line managed to sail. 

I like the thought of the passengers and crew singing, laughing, and shedding a few tears.  Salty tears, with trace amounts of tequila.

we have memories of many past cruises where the Jimmy Buffet entertainers were a huge draw.. great parties and everyone knew all the songs!

I know that this sounds weird coming from someone my age (35), but I grew up on Jimmy Buffett. My entire family were HUGE Parrot heads. He was a huge influence on my musical taste and even in the activities I do with my seniors (Activity Director here). When I started to play Ukulele, one of the first books I got was dedicated to Jimmy Buffett songs. He will be missed in this house!

Jimmy Buffet left a net worth of over 1 $billion.  Not a bad life's work from one famous song.  RIP.
