I am curious about the Deck 5 passage between the elevator lobby and Blu/Eden.  Will it be like the Edge's "mystery forest"?  Would love it if you could post pictures ?

@Georgia_Peaches  I'm a BIG fan of your past posts, so I'm eager to hear what y'all have to say about Ascent.  

 

Especially so since my wife and our two closest friends and neighbors from Panama will board the Ascent in April.  Sailing on an Edge-class ship will be a first for all four of us, as will our TransAtlantic itinerary.

Marne-  Thank you for the compliment!  We are eager to explore everything that E class has to offer...do I really have to wait 5 more days?!  🤪

@Georgia_Peaches First, big congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Peaches on your anniversary.  Nineteen year is, in my opinion, an accomplishment to be proud of.

 

I am definitely looking forward to following along.  I enjoy reading all your posts on both the Celebrity and MSC boards.

 

Regarding dinner, might I suggest you try to get a reservation at Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud?  I ate once at that restaurant on Beyond and the food, service, and ambiance was outstanding.  It was probably one of the best meals I've ever eaten on any cruise ship.  

 

And lucky you.......you will have a five-star team at the Martini Bar, including Rendy and Kadek.  

 

Enjoy every second of your back to back sailings.

Thank you so much for the kind words!  It seems that the martini bar opens at 11 AM on embarkation day so I think DH and I will make that our first stop!

 

I have read good things about Le Voyage and I'm very interested in this venue for our cruise.  The app wont let me make a reservation and is instead telling me to inquire once on board...so I guess we'll wait it out and see what happens.  I really appreciate the suggestion!

I don't think they will change.    The Nova Scotia Live Lobster is incredible.    The first time Iain ordered the Sea Bass (excellent)   the waiter "accidentally" brought 2 lobster dishes and said oopp -- you just had to have this.     I was indecisive about my desert and she made another "mistake" and brought both.

Yum.   Iain loves the Mulligatawny Soup also.    I'm salivating.   I also had the Crevice incredible the layers of flavor, texture and temperatures.

Definitely looking forward to your review.  We are on the Dec. 3 with B/B on the Ascent.  

Happy Anniversary!  I will be celebrating my January birthday on these cruises.

If I'm correct, room 7118 is forward.  Our room is also forward.  I don't have any motion sensitivities so I guess I would have been ok in either location.

Can we talk about the app?

 

It's been discussed here many times but I just want to add my 2 cents for a moment.  For the most part, I have been fond of the app.  It generally has the info I need, it's easily navigated/user friendly...my litmus test for any program is whether or not DH can use it...and even he can use the app with ease.

 

SO...the other day I mentioned that the app was showing Sky Suite 9204.  This was different from our original room assignment.  To recap, I called my TA who confirmed the app was wrong.  Today I opened the app and the room number has changed again!  This time it shows room 12101.  Huh, I think to myself...I wonder if I got an upgrade?  So I opened my e-mail to check...no upgrade notification.  Next,  I went to the deck plans to see what category of room is now showing...keep in mind I bid on a RS and Edge Villa.  Consider me gobsmacked when I saw that 12101 is none other than the ICONIC SUITE!  Reminding myself, the app is glitchy, the app is glitchy, the app is glitchy...I take this new information to DH.  In his infinite wisdom of all things electronic he says, "why don't you just log out of the app and then log back in?"  Since when did he get so tech logical?  Taking his advice, I did just that.   Alas, the app has once again corrected itself and all of our original rooms are back in tact...🙃

 

If I was playing a game of ship-opoly and landed on the Community Chest, the card would have read, Ship error in your favor.  🤣  Now that's an error I could have lived with!
