RMLLEL Posted March 15 #1 Share Posted March 15 Can nice jeans be worn in Blu for dinner? Thanks.
Rare Stem to Stern Posted March 15 #2 Share Posted March 15 According to their website your "jean" does not have to be nice. On Evening Chic night, the recommendation evolves into "designer jean." I am not sure why the singular is used in their wording. FAQs: Dress Code & How to Dress on a Cruise | Celebrity Cruises

Fang Posted March 15 #9 Share Posted March 15 I think it depends on location. Alaska yes. Others no
Dolebludger Posted March 15 #10 Share Posted March 15 On a cruise a few years back in a RS, I wore jeans to the Luminae all the time. They weren’t “high dollar” jeans by any stretch. But the jeans were fairly new and in great condition. What I really think is that Celebrity didn’t want faded, dirty looking, or ripped up jeans, regardless of the maker or price. Dolebludger Posted March 15 #14 Share Posted March 15 Yes, it often does. My adult daughter that lives in Dallas came to visit me in Durango CO, and she was wearing ripped jeans. I looked at them and said “my poor girl, wearing torn up jeans! Let’s go right now and I’ll buy you a new pair of Levi’s”. She said “dad, these jeans are new and cost $300! They were “designer jeans”. But I don’t think Celebrity knows what some designer jeans are. I think they mean jeans in one piece, not overly worn, and not the ones you just changed your car’s oil in! If you wear jeans that fit this definition anywhere, any time on Celebrity, you’ll be fine. 1

I’m sure the assumption is clean, but ripped and torn jeans are a version of fashion. “Designer jeans” is used for chic night, and not defined. A lot of high dollar designer jeans are ripped or torn. 2 hours ago, Jeremiah1212 said: Before 48 pages of discussion, fashion police and anti-fashion police......yes. Sorry. Dolebludger Posted March 15 #17 Share Posted March 15 Well, I don’t care what jeans anybody wears to dinner on a cruise. And as far as I am concerned, any jeans would be fine. I’m just reporting what I saw on Celebrity that was allowed regarding jeans at dinner.
indy406 Posted March 15 #18 Share Posted March 15 I really, really wish I would be allowed to wear a nice pair of shorts and a polo shirt to dinner at Blu. I suppose I could give it a try. Turned away? I could head up to OVC and find myself a fine meal.

zitsky Posted March 16 #21 Share Posted March 16 Grandchildren. Can you believe when we were young we wore ripped jeans and called that “fashion”? We know better now. Biggest fashion mistakes are bell bottoms and ripped jeans.
