Boy am I sore this morning.  Hard to sleep as bruises everywhere.

Opposite attract cocktail:

Inspired by the 2018 film The Wife, this fruity drink has only 3 ingredients: vanilla vodka, Campari, and sweet vermouth.
Ingredients:
1 oz campari
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
2 oz vanilla vodka
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in the shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
Strain into a glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Thanks for the Fleet Update and General Info from all contributors!

RNB still reporting live from the beautiful and elegant N. Statendam.

Last week yours truly was on the not so beautiful and not so elegant Celebrity Reflection; just kidding. I called it my Deja vu cruise. Two things happened on that cruise that also happened years ago.
First, I was very lucky to escort three ladies on this cruise as I had done seven times before. On the third nite at dinner in the MDR a lady sitting at a table for two with her husband next to us looked at me and said, “Mr. RedneckBob”, by day three everyone knew who I was, “You are a lucky man. How are you able to dine with three beautiful women every nite in the MDR.” I replied, “Money”! Same question was asked of me seven years ago by the Restaurant Manager in the Tuscan Grill on Celebrity Equinox.

Second, while leaving Tortola last week and while on our balcony, the ship’s horn suddenly blew six times. I knew what that meant. I looked forward and a small fishing boat passed across the bow of the ship less that 100 feet away. Same thing happened 20 years ago on HAL as we were sailing into Tortola. A small sailboat cut in front of the ship. I was standing on the bow, looked at the bridge and could see the Captain give a one finger salute to the sailboat.

Still having a good day in paradise. Amber Cove today. Will go looking for amber but don’t think I will find any.

RNB out!

Good Morning, thanks for the daily fleet report.  It’s back to work and I need to go into the office.  It’s going to be a busy couple of days as I catch up on 12 days of emails.  Zander woke me up at 5:15 so that the kids could get breakfast.  I hope everyone has a good day today.

Greetings from beautiful Port Charlotte.

Mid 70s right now but not getting much warmer with a high of 79, we had some rain during the early morning hours.

Good selection of days.

Never met a salad I didn’t like.

Audrey Hepburn was a great actress and her quote is spot on.

We have been to Croatia but to Dubrovnik and not Zadar.

I’m ready for the Baseball season to start but I’m also still excited with the hockey season as the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin in mid April. Being from Chicago I still follow the White Sox and Blackhawks but with over 30 years in Florida I’ve become a huge fan of the Rays and Lightning.

Have a great day and stay well.

Good morning friends!  It is a fair morning with a temp of 49F.  Today will be a high of 67 with sun and clouds mixed.  I have a morning hair appointment and expect DD to arrive by 2 pm.

Thank you Jacqui @kazu and Roy @rafinmd for posting the Fleet Report and Daily as well as fleet location maps.  Always interesting!  Today we celebrate Holy Thursday and the opening day of ML Baseball.  I have nothing against hot tubs but have no interest in using one.  I wonder what the salad has in it besides radishes and carrots?  Not interested in the cocktail as usual and haven't a clue about the wine so will have to wait for the report on it.  1910 was pretty early to have a seaplane with aviation so new.  Thank you Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard for the F&B reports!

Prayers have been said for you all on the Daily care list.  I'm sorry to hear you had an uncomfortable night Dixie @summer slope and are covered in bruises.  Let's pray you don't have any lasting damage due to that woman's bad driving skills.  I hope everyone here shows some improvement in your situations. 🙏  Prayers too for DB, great nephew Alex's twin boys, friends Scott, Susan and Sandy, those lost this week during the bridge collapse and attacks against first responders, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the hostages still held and our military in the war zones. 🙏

But for those cruising and with special events to celebrate, three cheers for you all!🎉🎂🚢  Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for your hard work keeping up our lists.  I hope you got a few more hours rest last night and have a easy day with your household chores.

The port today is Zadar, Croatia.  It sounds like an interesting place and I would love to go there sometime.  This was our port only once before on March 2, 2022.  Here's the link:

I hope you all have a great day!  Stay safe and keep well!

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Cool and cloudy today but at least it's not snowing.  I made a carrot cake yesterday to take to my mom for Easter, lots of cream cheese frosting for her.🙂

Love the quote.

Looking forward to seeing the recipe for the salad - sounds good.  Not sure about the drink or the wine.

I've been to Dubrovnik but not Zadar, Croatia.

Prayers for everyone on the Care List.  @summer slope  I hope the bruises fade quickly and the aches disappear soon.
I hope there are lots of celebrations.

Have a wonderful day.  Stay safe.

Good morning Dailyites

Today will be busy. I was able to get the car washed and gassed, but the line waiting for oil change was too long. So I'll try this morning.  My girlfriend is borrowing my rug cleaner and I'll take it over and get her started. We have girls game night so thought it would be fun to have crab legs at our hapoy hour, since crab is on sale this week.

Prayers being said for our Dixie. So thankful nothing was broken. Prayers for Vanessa, Tana, Sandi's family members, my prayer book, and all others on our hearts. Prayers for our troops and innocents in our war torn world.

Roy, thank you for the maps. I enjoy studying them.

Thinking of those who celebrate Easter week. Our 2 churches in Sun City have given out white crosses posted in our yards. Sunday morning they will turn the cross around and it says "He is risen"

Ok, raise your hand if you celebrate National Hot Tub Appreciation.

Happy Thursday morning. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports.

More rain expected today. Today I will be doing nothing but grading assignments. I will also be teaching my class this evening. Tomorrow will be a self-care day for me.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Have a safe and healthy day.

I hope it doesn’t rain.  Baltimore deserves some good news.

@ger_77 @marshhawk I will be on the November 2025: Cultural Crossing With Andalusia & Morocco too.  Join the Roll Call to discover what other popular Dailyite will be sailing across the Atlantic with us.  Anybody else want to come aboard?

Positive thoughts to those who need them.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Jacqui. Roy, thank you for keeping the maps accurate.  It rained overnight, but we did not get the strong storms that other parts of Florida did.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with everyone. Praying that the road to your upcoming surgery is not too painful.

Today I will be getting a new phone - preferably one that bounces. Mine is five years old and has had two protective film replacements. I am as hard on my phone as I am on my fingernails. Actually worse, since I can’t drop my fingers. Bindi walks, chores & a visit to my favorite wine bar to pick up an order from last week’s wine tasting. Should keep me busy.

Prayers for all who need our support. Those suffering from pain, debilitating conditions, the loss of a loved one, trauma. The caregivers. Terry, think of you & Tana.

Cheers to all who are celebrating!

May we each find a reason to smile today!

Domaine De Chevalier Rouge 2020

This stellar red blend has lots of fans and is easy to find. Its superb - classic ratings result in a price outside of my budget. Online prices start at $72.99.

Winemaker Notes

Deep dark red color in appearance, with a shiny black shimmer in the center. Great nose. Intense, flowerly expression mainly on the fruit. Black cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry. Delicately peppery and vanilla spices. Aromas of tannins and earth. On the palate, an impressive sensation of density of tannins, without any astringency. The flesh of the wine is fine, firm and freshly fruity. The fruit, precise and intense, is everywhere. Power, balance, maturity, concentration, length, freshness, tension. Everything is there for a great vintage to keep.

  • 99James Suckling

The purity of fruit is really something here, with blackcurrants and blackberries, together with orange, stone and granite character. Mind-boggling in many ways. Full-bodied with very fine tannins that are polished and pure. Such a fine texture. Lots of primary fruit. Like picking wonderfully ripe grapes. Great length. One for the cellar.

  • 97Jeb Dunnuck
From an estate that’s been on fire over the past decade, the 2020 Domaine De Chevalier is another brilliant wine in the making and checks in as 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Offering impressive cassis and darker berry fruits, it has complex notes of crushed flowers, violets, and damp earth-like nuances. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with ultra-fine tannins and a silky, layered, seamless texture, it shines for both its richness and its balance. It also shuts down quite quickly, so if you’re going to drink bottles, try one in its youth. Otherwise, be sure to give bottles 7-8 years in a cold cellar. It should have 30-40 years of overall longevity.
    Barrel Sample: 95-97+
  • 97Wine Enthusiast
This impressively rich wine is centered on great swathes of black fruits. The tannins, with their stylish swagger, are a fine complement to the fruit, giving the wine structure and the potential for elegant aging.Barrel Sample: 95-97
  • 95Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2020 Domaine de Chevalier is a touch more tightly wound than the brilliant 2019 out of the gates, but it seems likely to equal that vintage with a bit of time. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of minty blackberries and cassis mingled with notions of burning embers, spices, rose petals and orange rind, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with a deep core of fruit, powdery structuring tannins and a long, saline finish. As I wrote last year, this estate in recent vintages has arrived at a sort of stylistic contemporary classicism that evokes the great wines of yesteryear from this address, and the 2020 continues that trend. Best After 2028

    Rating : 95+

  • 95Decanter
Concentrated ruby red colour, a little subdued on the nose, built with structure and power, concentrated and should age well. Classical, powerful, not exuberant, an impressive Chevalier that has tannins and fruit and freshness, nothing shouting too loud. As it opens, you see a peony floral edge that is very attractive. Easily among the best in Pessac.
    Barrel Sample: 95
  • 95Wine Spectator

Well-built, pulling ample and weighty waves of cassis, plum reduction and blackberry preserves along, atop a broad spine of warm loam, smoldering tobacco and singed alder. Long and deep through the fine-grained finish, with a warm paving stone note that won't quit, thanks to well-buried acidity—not an easy feat in this vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

Good morning all from rainy New Brunswick.  It’s going to rain for days before it turns to ice/snow/whatever.  Serious concerns if all comes they are forecasting that the Saint John River will over flow.

Just a quick post - in a funk and stressed between two things - a financial issue that has been going on for 15 months - got the notice it was paid but they paid the other party and not me.  ‘Sigh’. So now I have to wait and hopefully get paid or get nasty again 😞

The most important thing though is that Ivan’s home while I am away has just fallen apart so I spent yesterday calling and starting interviews.  It continues today in between my acupuncture appointment.  I can get him in my dogs’ old vacation home but he’s never been kennelled and I don’t think at nearly 10 it is time to start. 😞

@ancient warrior Maxine, I am so sorry to hear that your DGD has strep and scarlet fever 😞 I hope she feels better very soon.

OMG Dixie @summer slope so very sorry about your accident.  I am glad nothing is broken but you are going to be so very sore 😞   I hope you can heal quickly 🙏

Annie @marshhawk & Gerry @ger_77 wonderful that you booked the 2025 Oosterdam cruise 🙂

Prayers for all who need them.  Cheers to all celebrating.

A very sweltering day in Ho Chi Minh City. We rode over two hours and went to the Mekong Delta. Rode Tuk Tuk, guest boat and a Saipan.Getting in and out of narrow wobbling Saipan was not a comfortable or pretty sight. I added the task to my age mobility challenge no no.

We had lunch along the river followed by a tour of a coconut candy factory where we were also offered a taste of snake liquor. We declined. Off to dinner and tomorrow we fly to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat.

Return to ship in Bangkok. Thanks for post. Bruce

Good morning, everyone!

We are supposed to have abundant sunshine here in mid-Michigan and temps in the mid 40s.  I have PT this morning and a hair appointment this afternoon.  I am getting a bit shaggy.

@summer slope I'm sorry you are so sore today.  I'd probably be lathering myself with Aspercreme.

The meal today would be a nice side dish to what ever main you are preparing and especially for the summer months.  Hold on to your hats, but this is a dish I would eat because the carrots aren't cooked.  I do like them raw.  My only issue with this first recipe is the maple syrup due to the sugar.  https://www.healthyseasonalrecipes.com/ginger-carrot-radish-salad/

radishsaladwithcarrots1.thumb.jpg.8d6e8a953c55ce21a857237b70f6f9cc.jpg

This next recipe has a dressing that is better for me - less sugar.  It is shown with a charcuterie board and that would be a great meal for summer.  https://urbanblisslife.com/radish-carrot-salad/

radishsaladwithcarrots2.thumb.png.9e31b17ca98a0d8b8b894615dffbddc4.png

This last recipe uses a spiralizer to chop the carrot and radish.  It has a simple sesame oil and vinegar dressing.   https://www.spicetheplate.com/veggie/carrot-and-daikon-radish-salad/

radishsaladwithcarrots3.thumb.png.d9a18f1c7f9ad9c437645f690a54cdf4.png

We'll be having the chicken, broccoli, and portabella mushroom dish from last week.  Wishing you all a wonderful day!  No more accidents!

Good morning. It will rain on and off today and get up to 50 again. My DS says the snow is almost gone in his area and it looks like temps will be similar to what we have here.

@kazu,  Jacqui, I was sorry to read about having to find new arrangements for Ivan. I hope you are able to line someone else up. And those storms sound hideous.

@summer slope, Dixie, I thought of you as I got out of bed this morning. I am so glad nothing was broken but an accident like that causes a lot of soreness and pain.

@Seasick Sailor, Joy, I nearly inhaled my coffee laughing at the chickens in the hot tub. I hope Allen is feeling better today.

I have not been to the port, like the recipe and quote.
Take care today everyone.

I will celebrate Holy Thursday and leave the hot tub for others; although, a good soak helps the aches.

Ms Hepburn nailed it w/the quote.

I think I would enjoy the salad (radish fan), try the drink and the wine too if someone else is buying, been to Split & Dubrovnik (which I enjoyed) but not Zadar Croatia, look forward to the pictures.

Big day in 1910 for Mr Fabre and the future of seaplanes - they're important for more than Alaskan tourism😏

Much work today. During our 1:1 yesterday Boss said an entire provisioning team is being let go in the latest restructure of our IT department. Still waiting on the outcome of all the sessions that he stumbled through when his Boss didn't show. She wasn't on yesterday either and he reduced it from an hour to a half hour but called me right back to ask for a medical update.🤷‍♀️

@summer slope hope your bumps & bruises heal quickly.

Currently 45° headed to sunny 73°.

Prayers 🙏 and positive thoughts for all.

Good Morning from a warm and sunny day at the beach

I do like todays quote. Never been to Croatia, but would like to. Dont really care for Hot tubs. It is a great day for all the baseball fans out there.

@summer slope  Dixie, That is terrible! Hope you are feeling better soon.

@kazu  Hope you can find suitable arrangements for Ivan.

I am going up to Boston in a few weeks for my nieces bridal shower. She is not registered anywhere so I am giving her money. Yesterday I had a great thought. I bought 2 pasta bowls and I tied up dollar bills in different denominations  and put it in the bowls. At least it will be something to open and she will laugh. Now to get it through security!

Today is counting money at the library. Was suppose to be tomorrow but they are closed for Good Friday ??

Be Safe and enjoy today

Good morning, all.  Thanks to all contributors and many prayers for those in need.

Another bad weather day here in PA.  MLB opening day postponed for both Mets and Phillies.  Game day tomorrow.

I am adjusting to being home after spending 22 day on a ship - of which only 8 days had been planned in advance.  DH Bill is glad for me to be home as he has had some health concerns lately which needed both a virtual and an inoffice visit to his doctor.  Hopefully things are settling down now.

I am taking the easy way out and have ordered Easter dinner from Wegmans.  My twin and I decided a few years back that ordering out is the way to go now for the holidays.  We wish to enjoy the day just like all others in our family.

Best wishes to all who celebrate our Christian holiday this week.  May all on this thread be free of pain and distress.  Blessings to all.  Katherine

Good morning everyone from a gray and rainy Boston.  Looking forward to our train trip through the Berkshires and beyond this afternoon, nothing like an overnight train trip snug in your sleeper. Thanks for all of the daily updates.  Hard to believe that it’s already Holy Thursday and opening day, tempus fugit for sure!  Today would be perfect for a hot tub.  Love the quote!  The salad sounds tasty and spring like. Think I’ll pass on the drink.  I haven’t been to today’s port.  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list including @summer slope, please take care!🤕. Cheers to those celebrating happy events!
