StLouisCruisers Posted April 25 Author #4 Share Posted April 25 Good morning friends! It is a nice 55F early morning with a high temp of 80 today and sunshine! Hurray! Thank you Roy @rafinmd for posting the fleet location maps each morning, and Rich @richwmn for the content of the Fleet Report and Daily. Today is a nice mix of days to recognize. DNA has made a huge difference in the world and we should learn as much as possible about the advances made in our lives with it. East Meets West Day refers to cooperation between countries at the end of WWII. And we all appreciate our long held hairstylists, or even a new one who listens well to our wants and needs. I agree with the quote, would try the meal suggestion, no thanks to the drink but would love the wine - a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Didn't we just discuss SB wines yesterday? I think so. Anyway, thanks to all who work on the F&B reports. Debbie @dfish or Tina @0106, Paul @kochleffel, and Ann @cat shepard. Prayers were said for all before I tiptoed out of bed. Our group here who has had some improvement and good surgery results but also for those with troubling issues still to tackle like Chuck @catmando, and the need to cancel trips like Elizabeth @Haljo1935 and Terri @Cruzin Terri and Jim. Prayers for those affected by the recent school shooting. My sympathy to the family of the lost young man. Prayers also today for DB, twin Linda, great nephew Alex's baby boys, friends Scott, Susan and Sandy. Never forget the people of Israel and Ukraine struck down, the hostages held and our military men and women in the area. 🙏 Hurray for those with special events to celebrate today and our cruisers!🚢🥳 I hope all are enjoying their time at sea. Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for continuing with the list keeping. I hope you are getting lots of rest and still enjoying the lack of pain and tingling. 🎉 The port today is familiar to most of us. Thira (Santorini), Greece. It was listed here before on Oct. 24, 2021, March 13, 2022, and Feb. 2, 2023. I have been a few times and will repost my photos. Here are the links to help you retrieve yours. Hoping you all experience a good day, and try to stay safe and keep well! 22
StLouisCruisers Posted April 25 Author #5 Share Posted April 25 (edited) Santorini Greece. I'm only posting photos from our first time there because they would probably all be the same. In fact the third time we stayed on the ship. I believe the weather wasn't great that day. In 2012 we stopped at Santorini for the first time on Crown Princess. Once we made our way to the top using the gondolas, we walked to the local bus station and boarded a bus headed to Oia. This stop was in late November so the crowds weren't terrible. Along the way the view of the island and coastline. Once in Oia we did what we all do, walk around and take photos. Here is the blindingly white church. Everything there is blindingly white! Anything not white seems to be Santorini blue. I like to take photos of doorways. After our nice visit to Oia we rode the bus back along the two lane winding road to Fira. Another ride down on the gondolas and a tender over to the ship. A beautiful stop on our Greek Isles cruise.😎 Edited April 25 by StLouisCruisers 23

A good tip is go to the cable car entrance as soon as you get off the tender because the queues get very long to get the cable car up to the town above. 19

Rare MISTER 67 Posted April 25 #10 Share Posted April 25 Greetings from beautiful Port Charlotte. A pleasant 64 this AM heading up to 84 with sunny skies. Good selection of days. I’m not sure about the quote. Pass on the meal. We have been to Santorini, one of the best Greek Islands. Had a good round yesterday beating my age by 1 shot with a smooth 77 with 2 closies but my 3 teammates struggled and we finished last in the team game. Have a great day and stay well.
Rare puppycanducruise Posted April 25 #11 Share Posted April 25 Good morning. Thanks for the Report. Another cold spring day here. The house roofs are white with frost. I think anyone heading out this morning would have to scrape their car windows. I'll have to bundle up to walk Bertie. Three good days to celebrate. Thought provoking quote, not sure I agree, but ... The meal sounds good, looking forward to seeing recipes. Not sure about the drink but I know the wine will be good. We were in Santorini several years ago on the Eurodam. Prayers for our world. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe.

Like @puppycanducruise, I can't wait for the recipes!! I think this would be a delightful meal!! I'll get some shrimp!!! I haven't been to Santorini -- but Greece is on my list!! I love the photos and tip about the Cable Car queue!! Thank you @grapau27!!! DNA day... I got that kit for Christmas and the results were fun to see. Not really any surprises, but still fun to see my ancestry!! As we learn more and more about this universe, I'm surprised to hear what we can glean from it all!! The discoveries and the miracles... And it amazes me at the progress we make each day in finding out more about our histories and world!! Rare Denise T Posted April 25 #18 Share Posted April 25 Happy Thursday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports. Crazy weather around here. We have been having freeze watches and warnings. This weekend we are expected temperatures in the 80s. I was hoping for a little Spring before we jump into Summer. Not much going on today. Grading assignments. clients, and my live class tonight. In other words, same old stuff. Thinking of all on the care list. Celebrating with all who are celebrating. @ger_77, happy birthday to your DH Maurice. Have a safe and healthy day. 24 2
cat shepard Posted April 25 #19 Share Posted April 25 (edited) Thank you for today’s FR & D, Sandi! Roy, thank you for our maps! Another cool morning with promises of yet another magnificent day. This is a Spring to remember, and I may compare all others to the Spring of 2024! Vanessa, I so love reading your post-surgery posts. I hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. Hope you go easy on yourself. Thank you for keeping up with us! Gym, Bindi walks, lots of post visitor chores and way too many leftovers. I need to wash my car - badly. The trip to the beach Monday resulted in a salty/sandy layer on it. It was so windy and the waves equaled those of a hurricane at high tide. No wonder Rich & Jacqui were rocking on the Volendam as they headed North. Prayers for all who need our support. Those suffering from pain, debilitating conditions, the loss of a loved one, trauma. The caregivers. Terry, thinking of you & Tana. Thrilled your NH family is giving you a much needed break. @ger_77 Gerry, hoping Maurice gets good news - soon. It would be the perfect Birthday gift for him! Please wish him Happy Birthday for me! Cheers to all who are celebrating. Certainly Vanessa & Maureen have a lot to celebrate. May we each find a reason to smile today. ************** South Sea Sauvignon Blanc This Sauvignon Blanc belonged as yesterday’s wine du jour. Another New Zealand entry with many consumer fans. smitty34877 Posted April 25 #21 Share Posted April 25 Good morning. It is chilly this morning but it will be a nice day and get up to 60 later. I have not been to Santorini, would love the recipe and like the quote. My uncle was involved in the battles leading up to Elbe day. He was all of 19 at the time. It has been a whirlwind of activity here. Tana has had some increased difficulty over the last two days and we have tried to have someone with her most of the time. I am very proud of my thirteen year old grandchildren and of course Tana’s son as their assistance has been great. My son has coordinated cooking efforts for the last several nights and I have enjoyed the respite. My DDIL is an MD and has been wonderful keeping the situation calm and much more manageable. I will really miss them when they leave tomorrow. @ger_77, Happy Birthday to Maurice! Have a great day everyone! 26
aliaschief Posted April 25 #22 Share Posted April 25 Dubai is a wow! Toured around some of the highlights. Actually the whole city is a highlight. Dubai Mall with it’s mind boggling 3,500 stores and huge aquarium and cascading waterfalls. The tallest building in the world and incredible architecture all throughout. Rode a Abra to Souq ( Market). Saw luxury hotels that can range from $2,000.00 to $8,000.00 per night and up. Our last three ports in United Arab Emirates has been mind boggling. We are here overnight and sail tomorrow night. 22
Rare Nickelpenny Posted April 25 #23 Share Posted April 25 @aliaschief Did you happen to go to Ibn Battuta Mall? It was my favorite one. And I see you were at the Marina. The architecture in Dubai is amazing IMO! Glad you had a good time there.
RMLincoln Posted April 25 #24 Share Posted April 25 It’s a fresh 46 in Maryland, will be near 60 where we’re headed home in north Jersey. Some clouds will make the drive more comfortable, DH is using dark glasses, he’s a bit light sensitive now, not unusual. SO happy for Vanessa being pain free, so Amazing! And for Chuck’s cancer receding, fantastic! Now fir replacing that stent…. And to get Maurice’s approval! That would make a Happy Birthday 🎈🎂 Loving @DeeniEncinitas paintings! Very uplifting! Glad you posted them! I’m just looking again to breathe them in! Seems I was just a few days early on my Santorini comments 🤣. We took the excursion tender to go to Akrotiri first so didn’t go up the cliff. By the end of the day the cable car line was 90 mins to come down so we walked down. Nearly got knocked down by a mule, not my favorite memory. But Santorini is a stunning place to visit, something for everyone! Thanks Sandi, your pictures are lovely. Hoping for better news for those in angst. Sending out blessings to all our Dailyites, for our country, your country, and the too many war zones. Thanks for being here every step of the way, every mile today. The run up I-95 is always a slog but I’m grateful we can do this. @ottahand7 Nancy, I was pleasantly surprised we didn’t encounter any unusual traffic getting through Baltimore. We use I-895’s Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. Maybe the decline in shipping has cut the traffic? sad and burdensome for so many. We’re planning on a 10:30 departure to get us through without hitting any of the rush hours. 🤞 Elizabeth, what’s the status of your car? Sorry if I missed it, hoping it’s cured! Time for eye drops! And grateful for a new day! And every bit of my DNA🧬 ! Wishing you each something good for you today! Maureen 21
