As we were exploring the ship with so, and looking for our third lunch of the day, we ended up in Solarium Bistro.

There choices were better than a normal cruise.  Must be leftovers from the inaugural.

Did they supply nut crackers to get into that crab claw? I'm very surprised to see that in the Solarium at lunch time.

It appears that D+ gives you a couple more amenities

Since we turned D+ on the last cruise, we just got our pins on this one.

These ones we got on this cruise look so cheap.  I was hoping for ones with the two chips.

Those are the upgraded toiletries for hitting 340 pts. So either they dont care or dont know who gets them at D+ if you just turned.

Dinner tonight was the MDR.  We had our standard of prime rib and cheese cake.

Looks amazing. All have the meat with a few veggies. 😋

No nut crackers for those, but I have strong hands. 😂

We did find the piano player last night, and even saw him in an elevator when we walked by.

We have kept up our routine of staying out of elevators, although daughter and her family did

@h20skibum Loving your review and Happy Anniversary!!!!

Were you able to make any entertainment reservations prior to the cruise?  We sail next month and those still have not opened up to book.  Wondering if it's wait until onboard.  Thank you!

I kept checking every day.  They became available to book three days before the cruise, and only for about a 12 hour window.

What deck will you be on during the sail away.  They are zooming in on Adventure.

You captured the right screen shots but I was not in any of them.   I was all the way forward at the very tippy top.

But I was moving around a lot trying to capture a picture of Fat Butt of the Seas in front of me 😄

We got out of dinner last night, and went to karaoke.  None of the kids wanted to try.

Then I saw a first.  Schooner Bar was dark and looked closed at 7:30.

Don’t know why that was.

We had the Aqua80too show booked for 8:30.  They ended up canceling the show, because we had a little lightning and rain.

We went to check out the Pesky Parrot.  I must admit this is an improvement over the bionic bar.

I like the decor.

But as for the drinks, I may have to try a few.

The Teqkil-ya Zombie was just bad. It reminded me of some medicine I didn’t like as a kid.

There’d be a mutiny if this happened on a Bella cruise!

Now that is really strange. I have never seen the Schooner Bar closed at that time. I wonder if it was a staffing issue or something else.

A traditional Zombie is made with Rum not Tequila. If done right it's really good but it does have a lot of ingredients. I have a feeling they tried a twist but was not successful. If you want a real Zombie here is the recipe:

3/4 cup crushed ice

1 1/2 ounces aged Jamaican rum, such as Appleton Estate V/X or Extra

1 1/2 ounces gold Puerto Rican rum

1 ounce 151-proof Lemon Hart Demerara rum

3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice

2 teaspoons white grapefruit juice

1 teaspoon Cinnamon Syrup

1 teaspoon Grenadine

1/2 ounce falernum

1/8 teaspoon Pernod

1 dash aromatic bitters, such as angostura

Ice cubes

1 mint sprig, for garnish

Instructions:

Place all ingredients except ice cubes and mint sprig in a blender. Blend on high until frothy but not slushy, no more than 5 seconds.

Pour into a tall, narrow glass and add ice cubes to fill the glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.

A little history behind the "Zombie." Don Beach the inventor of tiki with his LA bar Don the Beachcomber was working in the bar one morning when a man in a suit came in and looked very hung over. He asked Don if he could make him a cocktail to get him ready for a business meeting. Don went to work and created the "Zombie" as he thought the businessman looked like he was from the dead. The man loved the cocktail and it perked him right up from his hangover. Don put it on the menu but limited two per customer because of the very high alcohol content.

Mark, how’s your daughter doing on the ship? I recall she was hesitant & concerned about getting seasick.

I was wondering the same thing, Deb!  On our first RCI cruise years ago, a hurricane followed us the entire cruise.  People were sick all over;  I was fortunate to have SeaBands, and I was just fine.  I don't go on a cruise without them!  Just in case...😉

If you get around to it, try a Hotel Nacional at Bolero's and see what you think. I found this drink when on Odyssey and really liked it.
