Frenchkona Posted August 11 #1 Share Posted August 11 We are sailing in October on the Celebrity Beyond. My wife and I and another couple have 2 Celebrity Suites booked that are side by side. My question is, can the divider between our 2 balconies be opened so we can share a larger balcony. Your answers would be appreciated.
Marie51 Posted August 12 #2 Share Posted August 12 I am wondering the same thing. We will be on the beyond in a few weeks in the infinite veranda cabins, wondering if the balcony dividers open.
Rare cruisestitch Posted August 12 #3 Share Posted August 12 Infinite verandas do not have balconies. So no, there is no way to open a barrier.

bigbenboys Posted August 12 #7 Share Posted August 12 We were on Apex in a Sky Suite. I thought the balcony dividers opened. I just watched a video on YouTube that you can see the hinges on the dividers.

mauimary Posted August 12 #9 Share Posted August 12 We too have Sunset Verandas with our friends next door in a SV also. Wondering the same thing. We realize only part of it will open. We have seen a hinge in the past.

Homosassa Posted August 12 #11 Share Posted August 12 Whether dividers between balconies can be opened or not is a decision made by the captain. You can always asked, but may be told no.
BytownMatt Posted August 12 #12 Share Posted August 12 I have seen the dividers open on the Silhouette when the crew was cleaning the balconies. Would assume they do the same for the balconies on the E-class ships. As noted above, it's worth asking the stateroom attendant to see if it can be done. The IV don’t have balconies. There is a solid wall between your window and the window next door

The Edge ships are a totally different class and are built differently than the S class. The E class verandahs have a window which opens while the S class has a real verandah with seating. The suites on E class ships do have real verandahs. Edited August 12 by C-Dragons

Frenchkona Posted August 12 Author #19 Share Posted August 12 Here is the floor plan of Celebrity Beyond Celebrity Suite and it does have a balcony and not an infinite veranda.

Check out this video. About 30 sec in you can see the balcony divider. Small round hole for the allen wrench and the hinges to swing the divider. Alakegirl Posted August 13 #22 Share Posted August 13 Frenchkona, you might be able to have the adjoining balcony access opened, Marie51, there are no similar balcony dividers in IV staterooms. You will have a window, not a balcony.
-Lew- Posted August 13 #23 Share Posted August 13 Typically there is no balcony door to open when a cabin is next to a bulkhead. I'm not sure, but I believe bulkheads are indicated on deck plans by a white space between cabins.
-Lew- Posted August 14 #24 Share Posted August 14 The graphic showing bulkheads I added to my previous post doesn't show properly. Here it is....
Rare cruisestitch Posted August 14 #25 Share Posted August 14 It is true that bulkheads interfere with balcony access. Since the questions on this thread both concern e class ships, the diagram you attached, which is not from an e class ship, doesn’t apply.
