I even opted to receive those advertisement papers on our next cruise, just to have paper to leave notes on. I'll provide my own pen or steal one from the customer service desk.

It all has to do with $$. It they imply it's formal night then some people will dress up and as long as they're already dress up, why not have a family photo taken? If it were just another casual evening they wouldn't bother with photo's at all. They also might indulge in a better bottle of wine to go with their formal dinner.

That's a very optimistic viewpoint. We aren't what you would consider big drinkers, but to justify the cost of a Plus package I feel that you would need more than 2 and any cost. We'll be returning to using our RumRunners after our booked trips don't include their package any longer. I will say that the internet was a definite advantage at times.

I think they'll be seeing a significant number of people deciding otherwise. We has to think long and hard to justify the Plus package before the price increase but now it's not even a consideration any longer.

Theoretically, since they would have your credit card on file (or credit in your account) you wouldn't have much say in the matter.

We've never had a booking problem but then again we always eat at the earliest time available, which most people don't want. We also never go on formal nights either, which seems to be more popular for some reason.

$10 to me is just not worth it just because Princess wants to charge me for a service that used to be included. What's next, a disembarkation fee?

Same for us. Until last cruise we only went a few times and were never impressed. Last cruise we had the drink package & tried it 4 or 5 times and were equally disappointed. They didn't offer anything different that we could order in the dining room so unless you're meeting up with someone else for drinks, it only puts us at the end of the line for dinner.

We've decided to use ours at Sabatini's in place of a beach tour which we consider a waste of time, since we've been to most of them many times before. Thanks again.

Especially at double the price.

When people mention "no notification" most want an audible tone or ring so they don't have to constantly check the phone all day long. A visual indication isn't good unless you want to check your phone constantly which I categorize as useless. I haven't noticed it being overly abused with constant annoying rings/beeps on our last cruise- especially in the theater and dining room.

And it seems to be working just fine. I haven't read about people leaving the line because of it being to casual.

It's very frustrating that they didn't include a notification so we switched to WhatsApp last cruise. It works great for texting and phone calls.

Well as long as people continue to purchase the lousy Wi-Fi, Princess will continue their price increases. That alone must tell you something. In the mean while the other cruise line are doing something to improve their systems, while Princess just keeps telling people just how great theirs is along with increasing their price. Except for the medallion system, Princess always seems to follow the rest of the crowd with everything else.

They'll change back to the standard color coding at the end of the inaugural season.

Not if you wrap your Medallion in a piece of aluminum foil before you report it lost. 😉
