  1. We had been in AQ a few times and found the persian garden a waste- tried it once- nothing special and we never used it again. Enjoy S and E class ships- but no longer AQ.
  2. This is why we always fly in at least a day before the cruise. Cannot rely on airlines being on time.
  3. The Boat House restaurant behind the hotel is excellent- beautiful with great seafood and steaks. Its overlooking the canal. Our favorite on Los Olas.
  4. Due to my DH's occupation, we can only sail certain times during the year- perhaps it is time to try Virgin! We really love Royal and Celebrity.
  5. Delta sends us many notifications. Sometimes a flight is changed bu a couple of minutes. Crazy
  6. Airlines are worse- if a ship excursion you don't have to worry about the ship sailing without you.
  7. Would be nice if Royal had a week with no kids under 18 were allowed. Like Virgin Voyages. We were on an Oasis cruise last August full of kids. They were not at all supervised. Sitting in elevators and pushing every button. Running in hallways, shouting and going nuts. Some parents think well its their vacation also, so don't bother me. So sad that people behave without regard to others. Who cares if the solarium bistro is reserved-so many other options on a cruise ship. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. If you stayed at a precruise hotel, or sat in an airline seat- bed bugs do travel. So how can you be sure it was from the ship? Also the exterminators make lots of money using the dogs. House fumigation is expensive and very inconvenient. Also many other insects bite. We were in Florida and walked every day by a grassy area- I got many, I believe flea bites, on my legs. Also got bites once on a shore x from sand fleas in Haiti at Labadee beach. Bring bug spray for all beach shore x's.
  9. We truly love the restaurants in and around Los Olas- right by the Riverside and in the Hotel. Will check out the Hyatt Centric for another cruise as we are booked and want to stay at the Riverside in January. But have other cruises planned. Will walk over to the Hyatt and check it out.
  10. How is the ship in general? We will be on her in about 6 weeks.
  11. Yes, they opened the unlimited dining on some sailings. However, I still haven't reserved the time or restaurant yet. That is typically done after we board the ship
  12. We sail in suites and the luggage comes typically by 3. We have gotten a piece later- so we always bring our dinner clothes in our carry on- Some people enjoy swimming as soon as they board and also carry swimming clothes.
  13. I believe so. But call to ask- may have special rooms. The ship cabins have carpeting- not only in cabins, but in most public spaces. How do you handle?
  14. We typically stay at the Riverside on Los Olas before our ft. Lauderdale cruises- How was the Hyatt Centric? Good location?
  15. I have a nephew who is trying out the MSC Yacht club in December. He will report back to me- As far as the issue with water and soda, I never recall a butler, except when we sail in Royal suites, getting us any beverages. We typically went to the Suite lounge and brought back all the water and soda we wanted and put it in our cooler. I agree, the Edge class ships have much better suite lounges and suite decks- but they are also more expensive. We will be on the Silhouette for the third time this January.
  16. We were once on the NCL Breakaway in the Haven. When we entered the suite it had a strong smell. It was like the room stank from horrible body odor. Perhaps the people before us weren't clean. The smell left in a day- but was really stinky!
  17. We are sailing early January on the Silhouette. I wasn't going to bid, but did on a Celebrity Suite. The ship appears pretty full, but who knows. When is the earliest people have found out if their bids have been accepted? I know the latest is typically just before boarding- but the earliest? Just curious.
  18. While we spend time in the solarium, sometimes it is better to rotate and stay at the regular pool- we do not do sun- so we always look for a shady place.
  19. While a long flight, I would consider b/3/b's on the Apex or any new E class ships. The experience of the ship is wonderful and the Islands are beautiful. If you can do it, consider a b/2/b on two different E class ships. Out of Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.
  20. I see people throw away money in the casino and on art prints- if coffee is important- worth it- a matter of priorities.
  21. If you really want it- worth it- on vacation, we all spend .
  22. We truly enjoy the suite perks- perhaps better on the new Edge class ships. However on S class, you still get a great suite lounge and Luminae. In addition, many priority perks. The suites themselves are larger and more comfortable IMO well worth it! Enjoy
  23. As soon as you board, go to a specialty restaurant- speak to the person in charge and make your requests. Good luck.
  24. We love the crown loft suites. Best location for us. Next to Coastal Kitchen and suite lounge- one deck down to pool and buffet. If not in a suite, cabins above and cabins below the best and near an elevator. We like deck 9
