  1. My DH prefers loafers or drivers for evening wear. Best to rotate the shoes you wear.
  2. you will get back your money as a credit on your account if paid. The concierge will okay once on board.
  3. We had a wonderful experience on the Apex. While we ate most dinners in Specialty restaurants Luminae was great for breakfast and a few lunches. Great service and food very good. The suite lounge and Suite sun deck IMO was so worth it! Excellent service . Loved it! Cannot wait to go on another celebrity ship and enjoy the suite perks.
  4. We rotate our cruises between Celebrity and Royal. The Radiance Class ships are rust buckets and IMO very old fashioned. They lack the ambiance of the Oasis class ships. They would be a better comparision to Celebrity S and E class ships. We sailed on the Adventure of the Seas last summer and it was one of the worst ships we have sailed on. I think you need to try a newer Royal ship. We are scheduled to sail on th Icon in March. Hope that isn't a disappointment.
  5. We enjoy dressing up. I wear cocktail attire, and my DH wears a shirt and tie- also a jacket- Our way of celebrating being together on a cruise!
  6. Have a couple of vegans in the family. They find non-dairy desserts on board. Enjoy your cruise.
  7. We have sailed three times on the Eclass ships- in sky suites. Loved the ships and facilities. However, we love the Reflection and Silhouette also. We will be sailing on the Silhouette in January. It is a beautiful ship and will not disappoint. The ship has been redone and heard great job. The lawn club grill is our favorite restaurant- however Eden is a close second on the E class. We were on the Equinox a year ago also. The service and all were wonderful. I cannot imagine you being disappointed. Our son and his wife recently sailed on the Summit an M class ship and loved it.
  8. I agree. Did a "holiday" dinner once, got the same food!
  9. Since we typically sail in a sky suite, we no longer have a personal butler- so probably will not tip additional at all. The stateroom attendent if good- we tip at the end typically $10 per day. Depending upon the service, we tip the concierge in the retreat lounge and give $1 per drink to all bartenders. I recall we had a terrible butler on the Summit- did nothing- we had him again on another ship! We have had a variety of butlers in various suites.
  10. No drink package in a suite if you move up. However, the retreat sun deck and Luminae so worth it.
  11. We were on the Apex in a sky suite a few months ago. Did a b/2/b. It was probably the best celebrity cruise we have ever taken- loved Eden and the Steak house. I thought all was great. Yes, the Martini bar was crowded, but still great drinks and bartenders. If the soap dispenser was low- the cabin attendent refilled- if we wanted additional towels, we asked.
  12. Actually the Porthole Verandah Staterooms have a true outside verandah. The infinite veranda is a extension of the room with a window that can be locked by the captain. The infinite veranda's seemed extremely narrow IMO. I did not like the design. Now Royal new ships have some infinite veranda's also. Some people must like them.
  13. perhaps you might consider moving to a handicapped cabin. The bathroom has a shower chair and is more comfortable for a person who has difficulty stepping into a tub. Enjoy your cruise.
  14. We like cabins above and below- not far from elevators- I like deck 9- facing ocean .
  15. Best to book a nice ocean view cabin. Always cabins above and below. We like near the foward elevators. Not over boardwalk, much too noisy. Especially the merry-go-round and aqua theatre areas. Avoid them. Enjoy your cruise.
  16. We will be sailing on the Symphony this summer with our son his spouse and their three year old daughter. We will all be in suites. Can the 3 year old use the suite lounge? Probably won't really be interested, but can she?
  17. Have sailed on the Edge and b/2/b Apex both in sky suites. The ship is fabulous. Loved the speciality restaurants. However, we rely also love the silhouette and reflection. We will be on the Silhouette for the third time, in January- You cannot go wrong with either ship. Love the lawn club grill on the Silhouette and Reflection, and Eden on the E class ships. Pick the itinerary that suits you best and the price! Enjoy.
  18. Nope! Perks wonderful for suites. Imo aq not worth additional
  19. My DH is also a scientist, not a microbiologist- and hates buffets- and leaving meat and other perishables out without refrigeration. We do not know how long items are left out in the restaurants either, and hope we have strong immune systems!
  20. If you drink more then 5-6 alcoholic drinks per day- maybe you might consider a package- However Casitas aren't at all necessary- you have the suite deck- The casitas are typically surrounded by many chairs and in the sun. Spend your money on other perks such as dinner at a speciality restaurant. Enjoy your cruise.
  21. I am sure you will enjoy the ship. However older and doesn't have all of the same amenities as the newer ships. You should consider booking an Oasis class ship to get the real flavor of Royal. If you do on board, you will get a good rate and if you want move to your TA for additional perks. Enjoy your cruise.
  22. Have done Royal suites on S class ships. But heard that E class also great.
