  1. We did the GDR twice and actually preferred Terrace Cafe (yum - the lobster tails, shrimp and lamb chops). We did each of the three (at that time just not crazed about Asian fusion) and then grabbed a second at Jacques. No losers.
  2. Check our Norwegian Hurtigruten. We did Antarctica and a Norwegian coastal cruise and adored both.
  3. I can't speak for Seabourn but we did one on Hurtigruten a few years ago. Easy peasy and I'm not very "spry." Help in and out of the zodiaks. Paths to walk on when onshore. And I simply chose not to do the more strenuous things. And didn't feel like I missed a thing.
  4. You can also carry on your alcohol and have drinks in your cabin. But in the cabin only.
  5. When we travel anywhere intl I made a little note that goes in my wallet: $1 = $10 = Etc. Gets me close enough. If I'm going for something expensive easy enough to do the conversion.
  6. Scrambling a year ahead of time...when it's no longer Antarctica?
  7. How long was your cruise? Do you not want the 'regular' venues?
  8. Yep. And that goes back decades to when I worked for a major international airline. All virtual.
  9. Whereas I loathe the sun (sand also) so I could give my allotment to anyone else.
  10. Oh she-gawd no! I've only been in Chicago when changing planes and it's on my bucket list...for great food. Not for Cheddars!
  11. We sold our apt there a few years ago and I really miss it. But we've gotten back a couple of times, once pre-post.
  12. Go to lunch with us in Rio and we'll find great stuff for you. Not to mention perfect caipirinha.
  13. Can you imagine traveling half way around the world only to meet this situation. Getting home, hotel costs in the meantime, etc., etc.
  14. Wow, where to start. Let's do this one first. One liter of water — the equivalent of two standard\ize bottled waters — contained an average of 240,000 plastic particles from seven types of plastics, of which 90% were identified as nanoplastics and the rest were microplastics, according to the new study.Jan 8, 2024 Bottled water contains thousands of nanoplastics so ... - CNN CNN.com https://www.cnn.com › 2024/01/08 › health › bottled-wa.. \Here's pretty close to the Contigo bottle I use. Not exactly but the little ring off the side means I can carry it on my finger or attach to a piece of luggage. https://www.gocontigo.com/water-bottles/autospoutreg-ashland-24oz-smoke-water-bottle/SAP_2076608.html And ever since the massacre I've found the term "koolaid" used in your context to be offensive. 15. I empty it before and refill after. Doesn't everyone? Been doing that for just about as long as TSA has been around.
  16. We travel as a couple in small ships so I just don't see the value. And I really don't need all that info that far ahead. When I go to a fave restaurant I always look forward to new meals. Ah well, to each their own. Thanks.
  17. Curious why not? Seems like you'd get usable more room. ?
  18. I'm sorry but what does this app do? I guess I missed that basic explanation.
  19. We did airbnbs and loved the food we were able to cook. In addition I really don't like to greet the world without having had a cup of coffee. We were off the beaten path which we loved. Talking to the locals who appreciated that WE appreciated the difference. And ate lots of THIS!
  20. Ain't it wonderful to sometimes get confused about which day it actually is 🙂
