  1. Just found this live, already on page 4 have some catching up to do! Haven't cruised NCL in a while interested on your thoughts. Back to page 1 now to catch up. M
  2. I grew up in Europe and never saw chicken parm until I came to US. Few years ago did a transatlantic ending in Rome with my American DH and we stayed a few days after. DH was very disappointed that he could not get chicken parm. He told me that he thought I was joking when I said it's not really an Italian dish!
  3. Me too, DH health precludes my making the whole voyage, but this leg is very attractive and covers many ports on my bucket list. Just waiting for details to be released.
  4. That's interesting, I was reading on my balcony this afternoon (just south of PE) and looked up and saw a royal ship. It was not an expected time or position so of course I looked it up on cruise tracker. It allegedly was Freedom heading to Bimini having just left port Miami. I thought at the time that it must have been a med evac but maybe not. Didn't think it went to Bimini and track is very interesting. Population of Bimini is about 2000!
  5. @*Miss G* Wow that's an amazing photo! I thought the dust on my car this year was bad, but nothing compared to that.
  6. looking forward to this, already on page 3 and you haven't found each other yet! Love the allure, miss her from PE.
  7. The wet foot/dry foot policy for Cuban migrants has been terminated. Now all migrants are treated equally and most are returned to country of origin eventually.
  8. There has been an influx of refugee boats in South Florida over the last two weeks. I live beachfront and a small "vessel" beached 3 weeks ago near me. I cannot believe that people are willing to go to sea in such vessels in an attempt to get the freedom we take for granted.
  9. Bon Voyage! Weather looks good for sailaway, will be watching for your ship sail by this afternoon.
  10. looking forward to following you on your travels and adventures/
  11. Thanks in advance for your blog, I'm looking forward to having so many blogs to read this year. I've missed them in the last couple of years
  12. There are sharks in this area but most of the sightings are later in the year when the water is warmer. Late May and June there are usually shots from the news helicopters of sharks migrating just offshore. its very rare for any shark/human interaction in this area, most "bites" occur further north. This time of year its not unusual to see manatees swimming to in the ocean around the warm water areas of FPL power stations. Enjoy your time here. looking forward to your adventure starting. M
  13. Condolences to you and your extended family. Almost too much to bear on one day.
  14. Looking forward to following your cruise again. Hopefully you will have a smooth and enjoyable 128 day cruise. No stopping half way this year. Mary
  15. My husband once brought his Mother's passport and proudly presented it. Fortunately we live near the port and he had time to drive home and get his, he was upset that he had to pay for parking twice in the same day and lost his great parking space.
  16. Just got back from vision yesterday. Two sea days after last port back to PE. First day was very bumpy and pools were overflowing onto the decks. Great wave action. Closed in the afternoon in the solarium. Final day pools were all closed and drained in the morning, hot tubs were still open.
  17. Hi Sid, Just got back from a cruise yesterday and am officially caught up with your travels. Am enjoying your trip immensely, hopefully you will take time for yourself, we will be here whenever you post. Loved reading about your time in Miami. I live in SoFlo and visiting relatives are always shocked I do not go to Miami often. Somehow when I'm on vacation a $19 cocktail doesn't seem that expensive but on a work weeknight it does. Looking forward to your San Juan and St Maarten posts, was there last week and had a great time.
  18. St Kitts today required ID leave the port area to return to the ship. When I got my passport renewed last time I I also got a passport card that I use for ID. Don't like to take my driver's license as it is a pain to replace if it's lost.
  19. This was required at Port security not getting on the ship, only Seapass there.
  20. Just got back on the Vision in San Juan. As always at this port needed to show ID and Seapass. I remember that id always is required at Nassau also.
