El Cheapo Cruises Thread

I understand but it is interesting seeing what offers are available locally, even if they are not available to everyone.  I regularly receive good deals from a US TA and wonder what is available locally to special clients.  Maybe Covid has tipped the balance for more equity between countries.

Oversupply, empty cabins I reckon. Covid has played a part in that messing up pretty much everything that used to be predictable. Brisbane will have 4 ships this summer, and Carnival has a real challenge filling Luminosa in 10 weeks, amid soft bookings for Pacific Encounter & Quantum of the Seas.

In that challenge though, if they do an open slather super duper sale, they are squeezing their sister brands at the same time. By being selective, Joe Blow only gets to see the day to day fares and still books the ship of his choice without knowing how cheap others are getting their cruises.

It is good to see what is out there, but if you have access to an exclusive offer, you already know about it. If you don't, it is just frustrating to be missing out.

On the Carnival page I get quite good prices, but nowhere near as good as those shown above. Anyway, the dates conflict with their a cruise we have booked or with our beach holiday. (I would put a 'sad face' emoji if I could find one!)

Keep an eye out anyway. The first 5 cruises are on that "exclusive offer" list.

Just went to find this.. got a completely different amount?  Where did you find this

As above, with that "Pack & Sail" picture, you won't find it. It is an exclusive offer. You can try a dummy booking using your VIFP number and the K5Y promo code.

To date it has been sent to selective VIFP members. I don't know how they selected the recipients, and what other promos they will try along the way.

Thank you, maybe there should be a separate thread for 'exclusive deals' and another for the rest of us?  Knowing these bargains are out there for a selective few does not help the ones who don't have access to them.. 😞

How do you do that? I can't see anywhere where you can actually type in a Rate Code. The only Rate Codes I get are KEG and KSV. Means nothing because when I remove my VIFP number the price is exactly the same.

Twas just a suggestion. It is there for me automatically, but there is a way of adding into the URL in the address bar. Turns out when my daughter tried it, she just got one of those "Snap, something went wrong" pages anyway.

It may depend on yout status with Carnival

I am sure Cilla has more cruises with Carnival than I, and at least as many booked as the two we have on the hook. It makes no sense, as I have a status with them, but not a very big one.

@CDaze71might be time to hassle their 1300 number and ask why you are being left out, at least to let them know it stinks.

LOL. I have been on to Carnival about this just yesterday, trying different codes, but they aren't assigned to my VIFP.

They don't get any cheaper than this.

I was able to get this one!! $722 for an inside cabin Deck 8 SOLO. As I am from Sydney, I also booked flights and It's less than $950 for cruise and flights. What a bargain!!! I really couldn't pass this up.

Have you seen the Prices the Yanks got  on Carnival Splendor, Seattle to Sydney, it sailed today , like $1000 for an oceanview. Cheaper than chips.

Similar pricing for us on this current deal. Pity about the others from the US an AU/NZ that paid a packet for it when it was released.

As it should be. 😂

That said, we did a Melbourne state of origin a few years back, and it was really well organised and great fun. I am not big on the ponies, but this would be great fun for anyone that is.

Some decent faimage.thumb.png.8a817f8fecbc476bbfead64f26e69e7e.pngres from Melbourne for a change. If you are from Oz and like to cruise.

If we didn’t already have a cruise booked for February I’d be booking this one. It leaves on my birthday and we NEVER cruise on my birthday because it’s in the school holidays.
But we only have 4 weeks of holiday next year and we don’t want to take it all in the first couple of months of the year. We'll need a break later on I’m sure!

WARNING - exclusive offer 😁

I haven’t posted in ages and hadn’t planned on cruising for a while yet, but could not pass up this offer. I’m hoping for the comedy cruise out of Melbourne, just waiting for someone to get back to me.

For those trying to work out why some get these offers, I have no idea, but some information that might be relevant.

My last cruise with P&O was Christmas 2019(phew, just made it). This was a group booking of 6. We did spend a bit of time in the casino, but not a lot of money, my Mum would have spent the most. I drank in there, but I had a drink package. I played the tables and pokies.

The second offer is one I had previously received and missed, big ooops, as it is a better offer.

Pretty sure they are the only exclusive offers I have had.

I suspected that was the case as I knew of someone who got a free cruise in the USA, because she liked to gamble and lived close to where cruises departed.

Not sure about the close to cruise terminal, of my 6 cruises, 2 of which were on Royal, only 1 was out of Melbourne. I prefer South Pacific cruises and not many of them seem to be out of Melbourne.

I meant that was my observation, as she could leave home for the cruise terminal, at short notice.  Most Americans only get a fortnight holiday!
