How do you carry your Sea N Sail card?

My first cruise was about 10 years ago on Carnival and I remember having some sort of lanyard to carry my card in. It made it very convenient on the ship at the casino or getting a drink as I didn't carry my wallet around on board.

Now, 10 years later....what does everyone use to keep up with that card? Wallet? Shoe? Moneybelt? Lanyard? Does the cruise line provide something easy to use(we are on Celebrity this time)?

I would assume in port, most use a backpack/purse or wallet....feel free to offer other suggestions of things that have made life easier.

Just the right size to fit in my cigarette pack. :)

As long as I don't forget it when I smoke the last ciggie & throw the pack in a bin.

Yes, I've done that :o

A lot of folk keep theirs around their neck on a lanyard. You can buy a lanyard, & they'll punch a suitably-located hole in your card.

On reflection, that's much more sensible than a ciggie pack.

Cross-body small purse like 3x4" that holds the key, camera, and folded daily schedule. A larger purse for port days.

My husband keeps his key in a pocket, although I don't think it's safe on shore. He carries a "day bag" with water, snacks, sunglasses, hats, sweaters - whatever we think we'll need that day.

Holiday wallet - carries EHIC card, Paris metro tickets, foreign money (USD on board), seapass card and UK driving licence as photo ID. Maybe a credit card when on-shore (carried in a body-belt).

UK wallet with other cards, extra foreign cash and GBPs stays in the safe.

I love my lanyard. I have a pretty beaded one I bought on ebay for about $20, so it looks more like a necklace than an ordinary lanyard. Ok, it looks like a beaded necklace with a sail and sign card hanging on the end of it, but it's really handy and convenient. If I'm not wearing it, like on formal nights, I hang it on the same hook in our cabin, so I always know exactly where it is. I love not having to worry about having pockets or carrying a purse. My husband uses his work lanyard, but instead of wearing it around his neck, he loops it through his belt loop and carries it in his pocket. No worries about it falling out and losing it.

If I'm around the ship or going to the pool, I use one of these:

They also make a "water resistant" version, as well as ones that can carry a smartphone...

I also use it at home when I'm out hiking/trail running - keeps my DL and my house key and some money to hit the market for something to drink...

I slide mine into my bra/bathing suit top on the ship. At night it is easy to get it to order a drink. My husband has to stand up to get it out of his pocket. On shore it will be in my pocket if not still in my bra. I don't even carry a purse any more at home so don't take one on a cruise!

I usually have a beach bag with zipper pocket that I carry with my towel, camera, key etc. when at a resort around pool. I was planning on purchasing the lanyard for myself and my sister (first time cruiser so want a souvenir), and thought I would just take the beach bag to the pool as usual???

I usually put it in my shirt pocket. Watch out for electronic devices. Placing the card in the same pocket as a phone or camera can erase it.

I discovered this the hard way. I would wander about on an excursion with my sea pass on a lanyard around my neck and my camera strap around my neck as well. When I got back to my cabin my sea pass no longer worked. I had to get a new one from the purser's desk. They told me that the electronics in the camera wiped out the magnetic strip on the SeaPass.

Because of this I now wear my camera on a BlackRapid strap which puts the camera across my body, away from my SeaPass.[/color]
