Got to say, I wasn't impressed with him leading the way. Too many cuts and talk about the poor choices from Southampton in 2015. Preferred Hanrahan's vision. I hope this new chic is a better CEO and puts the expectations of the customer before cost cutting and cheapening the brand... IMHO

I look forward to new management and perhaps a more open management style. One can certainly hope that the new CEO can get the web site fixed and as a marketing (vs financial) person, take a look at the large gap between elite plus and zenith. I'd also welcome almost any change that isn't a "take away" and where there is some (almost any) positive focus on non suite guests.

Hope she at least glances at CC just to get input from a vocal set of customers.

Back to RCI- wonder if he will introduce 'Modern Luxury' there? I imagine the loud music will be better suited to the younger family demographic.

" Before his Celebrity role, Bayley served in several senior roles at Royal Caribbean International, including Executive Vice President of Operations. He is credited for playing a key role in the company's international expansion, helping launch company operations in markets around the world."

Curious -- no mention of Adam Goldstein in that article.

"COO Adam M. Goldstein unloaded 90,000 shares of the company’s stock on the open market in a transaction that occurred on Friday, December 5th. The stock was sold at an average price of $77.31, for a total transaction of $6,957,900.00. Following the completion of the sale, the chief operating officer now directly owns 310,724 shares of the company’s stock, valued at approximately $24,022,072".

Oh please no. Ear-splitting music on X is what drove us to RCI and Azamara. I do not wish him to take that legacy with him! On the other hand perhaps Mr. Bayley could take X's excellent smoking policy to RCI. While the latter has banned smoking from the balconies, they have not yet done so in the casinos and they ought to. Hmmm, and maybe Ms. Lutoff-Perlo can tweak the volume on X? :D

Success to both Mr. Bayley and Ms. Lutoff-Perlo in their new ventures.

Lucky you! :)

Please say Hi to Lenny (Michael's Club Concierge from Reflection) if you happen to meet him. He is supposed to be boarding today also for the meeting.

I do hope that the contactmichael @ celebrity.com

will be updated to contactLisa.

That office is very responsive to customers comments.

Yes I hope so too. I had an issue last month with a last minute cancellation and had to contact them for the first time in my years of cruising. Was I ever impressed with them when I got a response within the first 24 hours.:)

Lisa Lutoff-Perlo used to be the Senior Vice-President of Hotel Operations for Celebrity, and was in charge of hotel operations during the introduction of the Solstice Class ships. It makes sense that she was put in place to oversee the introduction of the new EDGE project ships. I wish her well in her new role.

Also a link to another article with more details and comments along with the article pasted below:

Royal Caribbean Cruises (NYSE: RCL) Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (NYSE, OSLO: RCL) named two senior company executives to chart the future course of the company's two largest brands.

Michael Bayley, who worked his way up from an assistant purser's position aboard the Nordic Prince, will serve as President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, the world's largest cruise brand. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, whose career at the company began in the New England sales office, will serve as President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, a leader in the premium market.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Said Richard D. Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd: "This is a happy day for Michael and Lisa, and a proud day for all of us at the company. To recognize these two incredibly talented people with these vital leadership positions after years of dedication, effort and innovative thinking is gratifying for everyone here. I am impressed with the skills they have demonstrated over the course of their careers, and I am excited to see where they take these powerful brands next."

Bayley assumes Royal's helm after a successful term as Celebrity's President and CEO. At Celebrity, he delivered strong results while building the company's "modern luxury" positioning, which resonated successfully with Celebrity's sophisticated customer base. Before his Celebrity role, Bayley served in several senior roles at Royal Caribbean International, including Executive Vice President of Operations. He is credited for playing a key role in the company's international expansion, helping launch company operations in markets around the world.

Said Bayley: "Royal Caribbean International is a brand with an incredible history – and unlimited potential. The ships, personified in the new Quantum class, are some of the best and most innovative in the world. And the crews that service Royal Caribbean International guests have a track record of delighting guests from every culture around the world. I look forward to an exciting future as we raise our game to an even higher level of performance."

Lutoff-Perlo began her company career as a district sales manager in her native New England. She moves to her new role from her position as Executive Vice President, Operations at Royal Caribbean, where she played a critical role in the recent successful launch of Quantum of the Seas, the first in the company's newest class of ships. After a successful sales career, Lutoff-Perlo made her mark as a specialist at bringing new ships to market for both Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity. In addition to the Quantum class, she played a key role in the launch of Royal Caribbean International's Voyager and Radiance classes, as well as Celebrity's Solstice Class.

Said Lutoff-Perlo: "Celebrity Cruises has done a remarkable job differentiating itself in a crowded and competitive premium marketplace, and with its newly announced Edge class ships, the brand has the opportunity to push its leadership position even farther. I'm excited to tackle that challenge with a team of men and women I know well, including crews that consistently exceed our guests' highest expectations."

Fain said: "No one who has seen either of these two exceptional executives in action can be surprised by their continuing growth as leaders. As a company, we have a mantra of continuous improvement; in Michael and Lisa, we have two talented leaders who will help us continue to deliver on that commitment to our shareholders, employees and guests."

I think some are setting themselves up for disappointment. Changes have been made to increase the bottom line. People want to point the finger at Bayley for all of the changes. He is not making those decisions alone. Don't look for flowers and mints to make a return. RCI removed mints about five years ago and they have not made a comeback and as long as Adam G is running the show for RCCL, they won't return.

I suggest reading this article to see where RCCL's vision is for their 2017 Double-Double goal. I expect more changes that some will see as cuts. Of course RCCL will view it differently.

Great to see that she has some real ship "operating" experience. Not just being a "sales" person!! Some sales folks tend to try to "spin" things to fit their needs, while those on the "hotel" side must deal with those challenging and real customer needs, questions and interests. Good luck to her and Celebrity.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
