Does Reflection seem more crowded than other S class ships?

To me, yes, it felt more crowded. About 300 more passengers but no additional public space. Just my opinion.

Its actually the opposite. It has been discussed on here many times. Reflection actually has more space per passenger due to it being longer and wider. Someone on here more inclined can probably post the stats or chart.

Here are the basics:

Celebrity Reflection: Length: 319 m (1,047 ft) Beam:37.4 m (123 ft)

Celebrity Eclipse: Length 317.14 m (1,040 ft 6 in) Beam:36.80 m (120 ft 9 in)

It wasn't really notable to us except at the Elite and Plus cocktail party. (5-7PM) The Sky Observation Lounge is much smaller than on the other ships. One area that seemed less crowded was the outdoor seating at the Oceanview Cafe. There is no bar in the middle.

I have been on the Solstice, Eclipse, Equinox & Reflection. I had the same concern about the Reflection being more crowded so was looking to see if I felt it was. I didn't. The buffet on all of them are crowded at prime breakfast & lunch times same for the pool on sea days.

With the exception of those two spots it seemed to be less crowded than the other S class ships.

I understand that Reflection is (slightly) longer, but I've never quite understood the increase in beam. There are the same number of cabins width wise and the public spaces seem no wider on the deck plans. The extra passengers are accommodated in more cabins on the upper deck, so it must be more crowded around the public spaces. Then again I'm no space per passenger ratio expert. Douglas Ward on the other hand is big into it. His guides always focus on it. There's a lot more to space per passenger. It's how the ship deals with throughput of guests.

Hmm...lost my post

Felt more crowded in pool area, gym, gathering areas and bars...the nighclub was truncated to make more cabins so less spacious there

BLU was also more crowded but the AQ suites have since been reclassified reg suites..and assigned to Luminae

We prefer Equinox and Silhouette...in design and capacity

The stat that counts is the ratio of public spaces per passenger.

Reflection is bigger and has more passengers. Both ships have 10 elevators. Which ship has a longer wait for an elevator?

Does Reflection have more space devoted to private dining rooms? Is the main dinning room bigger? Does the dining room actually have less space per non-suite passenger because they crammed the tables closer together?

Seating in bars? Seating in the theater?

Total ship space per passenger includes everything from cabins to the engine room. Not a valid stat to measure crowding.

Limited experience to compare to but the places on Reflection where it kind of felt more crowded for me (compared to Equinox) were the theater during the production shows (less popular shows were not an issue) and a few events in the Sky Lounge. (Not looking forward to queuing for tender again either.)

The crowded areas of Reflection were the same areas that are crowded on the other S Class ships.

I've sailed on Reflection 4-5 times and honestly I didn't notice any difference in the degree of crowding versus her S Class siblings. In fact, Reflection is my favorite ship by far.

We found it to be more crowded especially in Luminae. Also noticeable sometimes with the specialty dining in the buffet.

Even though the stats would indicate there is potentially more deck space I would believe there is less -

Reflections has 1,523 cabins with Peak Passenger load of 3,655

Silhouette has 1,443 cabins with Peak Passenger load of 3,463

Other SClass have 1,425 cabins with Peak Passenger load of 3,420

What affects Luminae are the additional Sky Suites

Reflections - 84

All other S-Class - 44

Well considering its 2 feet wider, that space would be reflected in all areas of the ship, on all decks thus increasing passenger/ space ratio. Now if that means the atrium vs the martini bar got the space, or if the casino vs the shops got that space I don't know. I am not sure how they dived up the space on each level. In areas where the room is the whole width... that room would be larger, dining rooms, buffet, theater, pool area.

Yes, all the ships have 10 elevators but then again people complaining about waiting for an elevator have always been the epitome of the first world.

Reflection has an additional deck of cabins. Hence, more passengers with little increase in the size of public areas.

On the Reflection, there are more passengers who are able to eat in Blu. I have noted that Blu is more busier than other S Class ships. Service was generally slower. The loss of nearly 1//2 of the Sky Lounge does give a cramped feeling.

Phil, aren't there additional cabins across the Aft on deck 12?

No, the same number of cabins width wise. I suspect the increase in beam is measured low down in the hull and gives extra stability for the additional guest cabins. Certainly the public spaces look the same.

As stated before, the Reflection has additional cabins most, if not all, are sky suites. This is why Blu and Luminare are more crowded but people who sail in regular cabins don't notice the difference.

We have the opposite view of.the.Sunset bar It slices the aft area in half..difficult to enjoy any music back there and the bar stool hogs seem to camp out ...we like the layout much better on the other S class ships with the covered bar and cafe tables...
