Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted December 5, 2016 #26 Share Posted December 5, 2016 DH does, but I prefer to take my own shampoo and conditioner - my hair is short, fine and temperamental.
SoloCruzr Posted December 6, 2016 #27 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I use it every day. I'm close to bald. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
diane.in.ny Posted December 6, 2016 #28 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I use it, but I sport a super short pixie cut. I wouldn't want to use it every day for the rest of my life, but it does the job while I'm on the ship and it is one thing less to pack. davekathy Posted December 6, 2016 #29 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I bring my own shampoo and use it when I shower in the cabin. In the morning after walking for 1.5 hours I use the gym showers and use the ships shampoo in the dispensers.

DrivesLikeMario Posted December 6, 2016 #33 Share Posted December 6, 2016 It is really awful for women's hair. My husband uses it, but he is not picky. If your hair is colored or processed in any way - bring your own. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Totally agree with that. It leaves your hair feeling dry like straw. Learned my lesson real quick=bring my own. ;)
senior lady Posted December 6, 2016 #34 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I use the shampoo, but bring my own conditioner and shower gel
mevs904 Posted December 6, 2016 #35 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I tried it once and that was enough. I have fine, naturally curly hair and need products that are smoothing and have body. For Princess cruises I will bring my own. If I have it I will bring leftover H20 products from another cruise line.

Bill B Posted December 6, 2016 #37 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I use it every day. I'm close to bald. I am bald. But I wonder if that's why I use it... or because I use it. ;)

caribill Posted December 6, 2016 #39 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I Hate the shampoo because there is no conditioner and I can't untangle my hair. Bringing own conditioner solves it though. It is a combination shampoo/conditioner and there have been many posts by women saying it does not work for their hair.

Rinderoo Posted December 6, 2016 #41 Share Posted December 6, 2016 It is basically soap and not something I would put in my hair as i have my hair colored at the salon. However it is not bad for body wash. The guys use the cruise line shampoo. I bring my own.
Thrak Posted December 6, 2016 #42 Share Posted December 6, 2016 My wife and I both take our own. I don't have a lot of hair but I don't like the stuff in the dispenser and neither does my wife.

arizonaperson Posted December 6, 2016 #44 Share Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) I've read lots of negative reports about the shower recess shampoo, so would like to know your honest opinion if you have used it and would continue to do so. Keen to hear from both ladies and gents. Also, would you risk trialing it rather than packing your own? Thanks in advance:). No, we don't use the Princess dispensers. We bring our own and honestly it doesn't take up much room in our carry-ons. We prefer to use our own favorite shampoo ,conditioner ,and lotion when we travel on Princess or on land. We do use the bar soap that Princess provides at the sink and in the shower. Edited December 6, 2016 by arizonaperson
Brisbane41 Posted December 6, 2016 #45 Share Posted December 6, 2016 I prefer the small containers that you find in hotels opposed to a dispenser on the wall. The dispenser on the wall is susceptible to other people placing certain bodily fluids into it as a joke. I once saw a television documentary on SBS Australia about hygiene in hotels and upon testing the contents of soap dispensers they found semen, urine among other things. Also those nuts you find on bar tables in the small jars also contain the same as well as fecal traces. The information is out there and the world is full of germs! Better get used to it. I live in China where there are crotchless baby pants, spitting is the 'national sport' and the floor is the garbage can. How is it I'm still alive? GRAYTech Posted December 7, 2016 #47 Share Posted December 7, 2016 I have had dispenser stuff in hotels, combined with the hard water, that refused to suds up at all. Smelled like cheap coconut tanning oil the entire day. Is the Princess dispenser stuff really that sub-par? We have sailed in full suites for some time and always thought the "Upgraded Bathroom Amenities" was well, kind of a joke. Not that it's bad but it is just shampoo... tammymacb Posted December 7, 2016 #49 Share Posted December 7, 2016 To answer the question, I always bring my own shampoo. I have to say I'm super impressed by how many of you pack just a carry on.
Rare Silent Penguin Posted December 7, 2016 #50 Share Posted December 7, 2016 I forgot my conditioner last time. Ended up paying $8 for a bottle in St. Marten as I could not handle another day. Even with only 2 sea days left. The onboard shampoo wrecks my hair, so I could definitely see me doing this, and 8.00 for conditioner in St. Marteen doesn't surprise me at all. I paid 6.00 for cuticle scissors and 4.00 for a small box of cereal 23 years ago while we were on vacation there.
