Do the cruise line really give a millitary discount or over 55,every time I price ,there the same

Different for each cruise line. Princess and Cunard give OBC rather than a discount on the fare. I find Carnival military fare to be the same as early saver. I have gotten really good military discount on Celebrity. EM

Answer may vary by cruise line.

 

I know Princess gives and On Board Credit for active and discharged military. It ranges from $50 to $250 depending on the length of the cruise.

Princess and Cunard offer the Military OBC combinable with their best current Sale rates and other OBC's such as Sale promo OBC, Shareholder OBC and TA OBC , on most every sailing and Rate Code . Can't top that !

Most other cruise lines offer Military or Resident rates on certain sailings but they may or may not be your best deal .

RCI offers the 55+/military/resident, etc., discounts on a select basis and not uniformly with all. We have gotten the 55+ and resident discount on several cruises - its just hit or miss.

Princess always gives OBC for military, regardless of ship or itinerary

 

Anything else is subject to ship , date, itinerary and even cabin category.

 

I have only snagged a military discount once.

Yes, they do but only on select sailings. Not like a movie theater or museum that has standing senior rates. Every once in awhile a cruise you are looking at will offer those discounted rates, and even then it might just appear for a sort period of time to help them fill rooms.
