For all of you savvy Princess cruisers, it would be fun to know your favorite Princess ship and

a few reasons why. We have only been on the Golden and Crown; and will be on the Coral and Regal

in January. Thanks for sharing!

Of course not! We always take our fun with us, wherever we go!

My point was that it would be "fun" to find out what other's favorite Princess

ship is.

Do you have one? Curious why you even responded...

First of all, props for spelling savvy correctly (when is that other thread going to drop off Page 1 for good?). But really, one's favorite ship(s) is much more a factor of personal taste and other intangibles than of the common sense and good judgement found in savvy people.

OK pedantry over....

I have always felt that the original Grand-class ships (Grand, Golden, Star) fit me like a well-broken in pair of sneakers: so comfortable as to not even notice how comfortable I really am. Of the three with Grand losing Skywalkers and Golden having illogically relocated the Casino from Deck 6 to Deck 7, my preference ends up being the Star.

Unfortunately to sail them again requires a trip to the Pacific coast. (And fairly soon for Golden if one believes the scuttlebut). So now I must admit I was pleasantly surprised when I sailed on Ruby and Emerald as to being equally comfortable and not concerned about the 400+ additional passengers. And both those cruises were holdiay weeks (Thanksgiving and Easter respectively).

So will my preferences further evolve once I try Regal or Royal (which I hope to this winter)? Probably. That's the way it goes.

...oh and while mentioning Regal: if retired ships are an option I may have to reconsider and put the original Regal at the top of the list. So maybe our first loves are the most important in the end.

First preference is Coral with her wide/continuous Promanade, deck 8 card room and library, aft public verandas, buffet located in the bow, and covered pool. Next favorite is Royal with her mid-cabin curtains in mini suites separating seating from bed, large framed passenger photographs lining the walls along the cabin corridors, Enclave, wonderful buffet and large atrium that's great for people watching. (And those goofy love boat-theme ships horns are pretty fun too.)

I have to agree with the reason everyone's favorite is the Coral. We have sailed on the Coral three times and now are looking forward to sailing on the Royal next week. I know that the two are very different and can't wait to see how

I feel about such a large ship.

My family and I loved the Dawn and Sun Princess because they were the first ships we sailed on. my son especially loved the Dawn because we did a 28 day cruise from Sydney to San Fran and he and his friend got the top score on the amusement machine in 2008 and their names and pictures were still there 6 years later!

I personally like the Golden and the Emerald because they are slightly bigger and have the International cafe and Vines.

The Regal/Royal are tops to me with the Emerald/Ruby only about a point behind! The reason is the extensive buffet on the Royal/Regal; we really enjoy the taqueria and Pastry Shop. The Emerald/Ruby still have that newer feel but maintain the real feel of a traditional cruise ship with the styling and dark woods. I ❤️ them all!

My pick is Coral Princess, plenty of public areas and aft viewing areas, at least they have not wrecked it yet, like they did with Island. Taking away Universal lounge and aft viewing areas, plus filling in aft section of Promenade Deck.

We have been on both. Coral is a good size ship with all round good facilities. Coral is getting some good votes on here and well deserved.

Think we have been on most of the Princess ships from the small - Pacific to the large - Ruby/Crown and going on the bigger one - Royal next year.:*

Well, so far it's the Royal, but we board the Emerald in 3 weeks and that will be our first time on board that class.

We do enjoy the promenade of the older ships, but the walking/jogging track on the top deck on Royal is sufficient. But what we like better is:

Alfredos

Princess Live

Nicer MUTS screen and sound

The On Demand TV (this one is Great!)

Buffet selections and diversity (last time they had Mongolian Grill night and I hope we get that again when we sail her next year)

Hot tubs were all fairly hot (not always the case on all ships - and maybe we were just lucky on the Royal that time)

And everything looks newer -and that is just plain nice.

I haven't been on all of the Princess Ships yet, but of those I have been on, (Grand, Golden, Crown, Island, Dawn, Caribbean, Regal, and Sapphire) my vote is for Sapphire, as I love the Alfredo's restaurant AND the 3 different themed main dining rooms with different menus. The Sapphire also has the wrap-around deck which I missed on the Island and the Regal. Grand and Regal have Alfredo's but not the 3 different themed MDR's. So.....my vote is for Sapphire.

We loved the Island, but that was before it added cabins and took away public space, especially the walk-around Promenade. The Coral is intact as designed, so that would be a nice ship to sail on.

My favorite, though, is the Sapphire. We had one of the deluxe ocean view cabins on the Baja Deck. These cabins were reclassified from balcony cabins to deluxe ocean view because they had to remove the balcony furniture due to head winds. The balcony was perfect for viewing the glaciers in Alaska.
