Things that Celebrity have done away with that you would like to see back

Agree with the list of items that are gone.  However I am not sure how missed they are.  For example on food, people generally do not eat the way they used to.  Grand buffets for mainly for show late at night??  Chocolates on pillows??  All that food is available many hours a day in the buffet or Cafe Bacio.  A cigar lounge on Celebrity which is known as most smokeless major line.  There is one on NCL and the area around it lets you know.  Paper and pens with your name on it while most complain about any paper delivered to the cabin and want everything on their PDA.

Celebrity still does alot of things well for a mass market line which has lots of cabins on lots of ships to fill.  You can get much of what you want on a more traditional line that fills the traditional cruise niche.

Huge Buffet Brunch in the MDR

I also like the idea of the buffet but it’s the most wasteful food item on the ship. The food has to be hot till they remove it and that creates a lot of expense as they can’t save much if any. On the late nights I visited the buffet most of the people eating there were crew members.

For me I would just visit Cafe Bianco and get a few deserts to take back to my room. One night I was at Cafe Bianco and they were closely up and didn’t have and sweets so I just went to the buffet as it wasn’t midnight yet.

Steel pan music by the pool on Caribbean cruises,

sorbet or sherbet (whatever it was) by the pool

A real formal night with live music in the dining room

And as someone else mentioned someone to help you find a table in the Oceanview cafe... I had totally forgotten about that

Free zumba class

I wish the stateroom attendants each had an assistant like in the past.

Bring back the daily bottled water in Aqua Class.

We have had fresh squeezed orange juice in Blu.  Pretty good.

That would be the previously frozen freshly squeezed OJ.

Al Bacio.  I think Cafe Bianco is on MSC?

One of my favorite spots to chill.

Yes, it was great being able to board and go directly to our stateroom, with our glass of sparkling wine in hand and our escort leading the way.

Michaels Club re-opened to all guests (not only suite) and the piano entertainers returned. I don't understand why X decided to do away with this kind of entertainment/venue as It was always busy back in the old days and RCCL have the Schooner bar and Princess have Crooners which offer similar entertainment and continue to be very popular venues.

I have nothing against suite guests having their own private lounge but surely X could re-locate this someplace else instead of taking away a popular venue from the majority (non-suite) guests.

I can only agree. We have done transatlantic cruises in the past always travelling concierge cabins and each time the highlight of our cruises was to end the evenings in Michaels club listening to live music (mostly piano).I am not sure if this was available to any other non suite cabins and a perk for concierge but sure miss this.

Miami Djs

A full selection of in cabin toiletries  - like you get in any hotel

Miami DJs were too loud all over the ship.  We knew we were in for it on Reflection...that was the main music on board.  We like the DJs generally but they were soooo loud!   Sorry you miss them.. try EDGE.,great DJs on board!

Fresh Vegetables variety.  I don't know if Eclipse has just had low stock, but you have to scrounge to find tidbits of broccoli or asparagus.  In BLU we were lucky (and excited) to find even a garnish worth.  Peas, carrots, beats, and corn are more abundance.

The last night of our cruise they added 2 sections of frozen mixed veggies. Bon Appetit!

For me it's Bistro on Five

I miss the Sushi in the Buffet in the afternoon (no can do Sushi on Five.. DH allergic  but it was treat for me to have a few pieces of Sushi as a snack in the PM)

It looks like I'm going to be missing the rain shower in Aqua Class because it appears to have disappeared on the Summit :classic_sad:.

We have had helpful crew members find tables for us in the OVC often on our last few cruises, so I don't think that's gone away. (And I don't think we look old or feeble😜).

One thing I noticed on our recent Solstice cruise was the volume levels of both announcements and entertainment.

I could clearly hear every word of the announcements that were played in the cabin corridor, without opening my cabin door. Forget sleeping in on a port day, those announcements started the moment the ship was cleared for passengers to go ashore. On previous cruises they were quieter - a dull murmur unless the cabin door was open.

The sound systems of entertainers in the Grand Foyer (near the Passport Bar) and in the Ensemble Lounge were connected to the ship's speaker system for those areas so no matter where you sat there was music blasting at you at a louder than comfortable volume. Again, I don't recall that being the case on previous cruises. The speakers were set to the sides of the where the musicians performed and seats further away were quieter.

Yes, strange if there are no ‘health’ reasons in Blu 😏.

I believe they used that reason/ excuse to discontinue the tableside made to order prep of the museli  in BLU!  It was really a treat but now gone!
