JandMinToronto Posted May 12, 2019 #260 Share Posted May 12, 2019 We give our thanks too and have enjoyed the ship pictures to help us "plan" for our Independence Day cruise. Separately, and unrelated to this, I wonder about when Celebrity will action "Move Up" requests, and also the situation on the cruise port parking garage/surface lot. I will be searching on those themes on the other threads. I suspect Move Ups will happen just before the cruise as Celebrity balances revenue generation with "good will" :-) Thanks for all your pics! Rare Radio Posted May 12, 2019 Author #274 Share Posted May 12, 2019 (edited) Hello everyone and good day. . . I got off of the ship at about 9:45 and was through the Terminal and in my car by 10 AM. Wow, I really like the use of the facial ID instead of waiting in line for a Customs agent. This process, called "biometric exit," involves taking a photo of you when you arrive at the Terminal and comparing that with one when you leave. It is intended to ensure that each individual who arrives at a Cruise Terminal is the same as the person who departs on the same itinerary. U.S. citizens can request an alternative document inspection instead. I read that it is currently in use at Cape Liberty, and Port Miami, Port Everglades, and Port Canaveral. I arrived at my Hotel and watched news for a couple of hours, and will grab a bite to eat a little later. Celebrity Summit left Cape Liberty and is on her way to Bermuda. I am hoping that Summit passengers have beautiful weather as I di while in Bermuda. Here are a couple of images from Debarkation. . . Radio Welcome to Cape Liberty Rainy Debarkation It was a short walk to the Terminal There are a lot of supplies being loaded. The Bayonne Weather sign should have read" Heavy Rain" The Luggage area was not busy I had a porter, so the customs line was super fast with no line Facial ID has been around in Airports for a while, but this is a New feature for Cruise Terminals Image Courtesy of airportbusiness dot com Celebrity Summit . . . See you next time. Edited May 12, 2019 by Radio 3
