Does Celebrity allow you to go directly to your cabin after embarkation?

Haven't been on Celebrity in a few years.  The last time you couldn't go to your cabin until around 1pm.   Had that changed?

On our B2B Edge cruises in March, you could do directly and drop things off, and I’ve seen a number of posts stating the same on other ships.

No. Usually they are ready by 1.30 pm

In my recent experience on the Constellation, cabins were ready after 1:00 PM.

Usually you drop your luggage off outside the cruise terminal building; you'll be directed where to do so. Once you enter the cruise terminal building, you go through security. Afterwards, there are separate lines for different groups of guests. Suite and zenith have their own line, as well as Aqua, Concierge, Captain's Club, etc. Once you approach the check-in counter, I'd say 10 more minutes until you are on the ship. Times from curb to ship vary depending on the time of the day you arrive and the volume of passengers arriving at the same time as you. If you are in a Royal suite or above, there is an expedite process to speed up your embarkation process. Hope this helps.

On Edge you go to your room to collect your Seapass card, and drop your carryon.  As the ships are remodled one by one, it will be the same.   

 

But until the remodeling, you will wait until 1:30 ot so to have access to you room

On the Edge  we uploaded photos , Passport and credit card info  during online check-in.  Very speedy getting through terminal, just security & luggage X-ray.  We were direct to go to our cabin & drop off carryon bags.  Sea Pass cards were waiting for us outside the cabin.  The cabins were no completely ready until 1.  

 

We did the same on-line check-in process for our upcoming Summit and it tells us that our Sea Pass. Arcs will be at our cabin.  So at least those ships have the faster process.

If I was in an SV cabin with no status, roughly how long would it take (of course realizing passenger may vary).

 

Also  do they have scheduled arrival times to check in or can you show up whenever?

Depends on the port.  Southampton, and some others, have staggered arrival times

We were on Summit in March, shortly after the refurb.

 

We got on very early and toured the ship. The rooms seemed to be finished on our deck and room stewards were hanging out in the hallway. We asked them if we could drop off our carry-ons in the room and were told we could.

 

At 1:00 there was a shipwide announcement that all rooms were ready.

I don't think being in SV will make any difference, you have to wait until cabins are ready.

We couldnt on Eclipse a couple of weeks ago. They had the fire doors closed that lead to the cabins. Not a big deal for us as all we had was out backpacks full of medication and other necessities. We just checked out carry on bags at the port.

Summit in April, yes, we got on at 11:30, Embarcation was a out 20 minutes from luggage dropped to boarding the ship, and were told this going to be fleet wide soon, but see conflicting reports here.  We'd always had the 1:00 or 1:30 opening of the fire doors before, so praised this change.  Hope it sticks.

Soon is a relative term.  The “revolutions” are spread out over many, many months.

Our boarding pass paperwork even said to go to the cabin and drop off the luggage first.  It said it on the app too.

Those instructions are ship dependent. Not across the board. Edge and the revolutionized ships allow you to go to the state room immediately. The others do not yet afaik.  Which ship were you on?

You should be able to go directly to your room because that ship (Summit) has been renovated.

Just finished check in and got express passes.

We did the photo and the whole bit.

No instructions on going directly to our room.

Perhaps because we are only Concierge Class?

We are late August also, it is in the Celebrity app that we can go to the cabin and drop off our carry ons.  Do have to say that we have a suite.

Let‘s keep in mind, that leaving passengers often stay until 8:00 - 9:00 and Stewards need to clean and prepare all cabins for the new passengers from that point.

 

We are trying very hard not to show up as soon as 13:00 because it puts additional stress on them. We usually take our carryons to the buffet and other places and show up at the stateroom at 15:00 or later.
