Oh, my!  In such beautiful surroundings they served tea in paper cups, and biscuits in foil paper??  Perhaps that is the cause of the semi-scowl on your face?

We weren’t complaining with the deluge outside.    The tea an shortbread were rather expensive at $10.00.

The new signage on the ship is really nice and clean.

Very updated, modern and  quite readable..the main point of the signs.  I am always lost,

Thank you, Jim! Enjoying the report so far. We were on the Independence Day cruise last year and are doing a 10 day next May in a SS...hoping for a coffee table by then!

When you are in Bar Harbor, The Dog and Pony has fantastic Lobster Rolls ..both hot and cold. Enjoy!

We arrive Bar Harbor on Sunday.   I hope the Dog and Pony is open on a Sunday.

The signage is good. Some of the floors with new rooms area bit confusing as the numbering is often out of sequence.

These rooms are are right next to each other

Jim, following along, got off the ship when you got on.   As you already found out Alexandra in the Retreat lounge is fantastic.  Once she gets to know you she can be hilarious with stories about her experiences onboard.  When you see her tell her Royce and Robin are missing her.

I hope you and Iain enjoyed both The Breakers and Marble House. What did you think of the one room that was gilded not with gold leaf, but platinum? It blew my mind when I found out that's what it was, never mind that anyone was so ridiculously wealthy (for that time) that they could do something like that.

I will pass on your greetings.   She is very attentive and really nice personality.

We absolutely loved both.  Incredible wealth indeed.   If I recall she spent

$11 million when she built it.  The Breakers must have cost twice that.

Wonderful. If you go let us know how you liked. Some other recommendations were Geddy’s, 59 Cottage, Gilbert’s & 76 West Main. We love our lobster rolls & will also have in Portland.

Today they held the Zenith Lunch.   Incredible 25 aboard this cruise.   I finally met Arno and Joanne after all these years.

Was a wonderful lunch bu far too much to eat.   I of course snarfed it all down.

Wow! Something like that happened at my former job... the room assignments of individuals changed, every few years,  but one of the old time bigwigs wanted to keep his room number ( his  football number).  We all adjusted fine but outsiders always went  to the wrong place!

We do like the EDGe system that drops the floor numbers in the  cabin id numbers!

The internet is really working well so going to post more of my rambling around the ship while out walking.

Following is a look at The Retreat Sun Deck.

That price is a little precious for a cup of tea and some Walker's biscuits. And I like the Walker's quite a bit.

Really not a big issue but when leaving the glass elevator it throws us off as to which direction to our room.

It's nice to see what they do for their Zeniths. I doubt DH and I will ever attain Zenith. With Celebrity cruise #2 on the horizon, we will be lucky to attain Elite one day. I'm all for trying :)

We were on Summit last week.  The Sundeck menu is every day including port days.  I was surprised to find out that drinks are NOT complimentary on the Sundeck like they are in the lounge.  Of course drink packages can be used.

Cant believe we never got to meet in the retreat lounge on the cruise. My wife and I spent a lot of time in the lounge. I agree, Alexandra was awesome and very funny!

Just found this thread and have caught up. Did your suitcases have time to air out from your Infinity cruise!?!  I was wondering how you tackled the air issue from the Left Coast since you booked close in, so thanks for sharing.

We've cruised New England twice, but would happily return again. The ports are all so great. We've done the mansions in Newport on both previous cruises. Next time we'll enjoy strolling the town because, it too, looks so charming.

Glad you're back on the high seas and doing another live thread. You & ChicagoPaul need to stay in sync so we have continuous live threads always going. 😉
