In the Daily I notice a Sip and Savor from 5pm-6pm in Cellar Masters. It consist of a glass of featured wine and appetizers. I have not seen this previously, and is a good deal. Occasionally at lunch they in the oceanview cafe(buffet) they feature wine by the bottle sales. Jim, is there still a "Drink of the Day" daily special? It typically is on the top of one of the Daily Planner pages. Don't forget you may carry on one bottle of wine per person. Are you by chance Diamond on Royal Caribbean? If so, you would qualify for Elite benefits which consist of a happy hour 5-7 for no charge on certain drinks? You would need to call Celebrity and give them your RCI information. We are Elite (Diamond Plus on RCL) & qualify for happy hour 5-7. Was just curious. Read somewhere that Celebrity has a dual happy hour, first 4:00-6:00 and again 10:00 until midnight. Didn’t know if the Summit had the same. I know there’s no happy hour 1st night. Don’t like wine just martinis. We were on the Edge in April but on that cruise we had the drink package perk, on this cruise we have no perks. So other then during Elite happy hours will pay for drinks including my specialty coffees at Cafe a Bacio every morning.

Remember, one of the Elite perks is breakfast in the Tuscan Grill, typically 8-10(but check your paperwork for times). You may order complimentary specialty coffee, mimosas and bloody marys.

Yes I’m aware of that but I need my caffeine fix as soon as I get up, can’t wait for Tuscan to open. I bring coffee back for me & my DH maybe a danish sit on balcony & wake up. Then sometimes we’ll go to Tuscan for their breakfast buffet or just skip breakfast completely. I’m sure I will run into you.

We had a house up on Russian Hill (the next hill over from Nob Hill) at the top of Lombard Street that Iain would use during the week so even when up on business I would just stay at our place. A little different but well worth it are the many little boutique hotels around Union Square. A couple I have visited and thought were charming are: Inn At Union Square Taj Campton Place Hotel Emblem San Francisco Huntington Hotel Remember, San Francisco is really a small physical city - 7 Miles x 7 Miles and is really easy to get around. I usually use Uber even when I have the car it the city as parking can be really high. For best rate try the "Share", where you get 2 places and they may or may not pick someone up along your journey. If two are traveling it is cheaper than the bus or metro. Yes they do have daily specials which may be listed as recommended drink of the day. I believe they are listed on the dining room menus.

Rare Jim_Iain Posted June 9, 2019 Author #369 Share Posted June 9, 2019 We had a real treat yesterday. Trish, Karen and George invited us to a nice reception in their beautiful Penthouse. It it is beautiful and in our opinion a huge upgrade from the old antiquated, dark decor of the past. 4

Rare Jim_Iain Posted June 9, 2019 Author #373 Share Posted June 9, 2019 WARNING for future cruises. If coming to Bar Harbor book excursions early. All the shops in town had sold out signs out. 1
Rare Jim_Iain Posted June 9, 2019 Author #374 Share Posted June 9, 2019 Another storybook day with perfect temperatures and blue skies. Bar Harbor is a beautiful little village. This is is a tender port and was handled very professionally with both ship and pirt tenders. Service began at 8:00 and open tenders at 10:00. Upon arrival we turned right and walked out to Bar Island. At lower tides there is a sandbar connecting. Lilac are in full bloom.
