What have they done to your Cuba cruise?

While I am incredibly disappointed in the policy change that precludes visiting Cuba, something that's been on my bucket list for years, I appreciate the way RC is handling this. They are under no obligation to offer discounts or refunds. We are currently weighing our options for a substitute land vacation because we have airfare booked as well as visiting family. Nassau is not a port I would choose to visit, but I am not sure we can find an affordable alternative at this point.

Booked on majesty 7/31 - 8/5 Havana and cozumel. 

No actual official email but when you go into cruise planner it still says Havana but once you open the calendar Havana has been replaced with Costa Maya. 

There is also the official statement on site that says cancel with full refund or accept changes with 50% refund.  I only paid $600 so I am fine with getting partial refund and cruising for around $350-400. It's more than they have to do.

Others have mentioned being able to see the new itinerary on Royal's website, when you look at your booked cruise.   It might still say Cuba on the first page, but dig a bit deeper.

This is a cruise that leaves tomorrow and is a charter so it's an odd ball not in the detail list above posted.  Empress 4 night aventura dance cruise June 6-10th.

I called RCCL.  Empress will be at Coco Cay, instead of Havana, June 7th by itself, making it the smallest ship population ever to visit Perfect day.   fyi

If you look at your original cruise vacation receipt, it will say cruise fare $$ minus casino comp. That number is your discounted cruise fare, so you will get 50% of that amount in OBC. If you do not use it, it will be refunded to your credit card. Woohoo now I'm being paid to cruise!

Am I reading this correctly that the June 24 Majesty sailing will not even go to Key West?

That would be awesome.

 

We "paid" (not really) $821.00 per person... cruise fare. So will they credit us 50% of each fare paying traveler?

 

If so, Im going to the SPA!

Yep, 50% on each cruise fare. I'm solo and my discounted fare is $736. So, I am getting $368 in OBC. Cha ching!

If you look at the detail of this cruise date on RC website, it still shows Key West as a stop. Whether that is accurate, I don’t know. Maybe check your cruise planner and see what the calendar now shows.

I wanted to go to Cozumel this summer without doing a 7 night cruise. Called Casino Royale and sure enough someone canceled 6/10. Super happy. Free!  

Port charges were very high for Key West and Cozumel. 

$144.35. 

So excited to go back in my first Royal ship. 

Anyone know John Denton’s schedule for June?  Would love to see him again.

I'm on Majesty for June 24. Club Royale sent me the new itinerary. It's Nassau, Coco Cay, Sea Day then Key West.

Coco Cay

San Juan

St Croix

St Thomas

Haven't been to any of these - so looking forward to see new ports and 50% back in credits!!

DW and I went on a Cuba cruise this past February with Pearl Seas  and I am glad that we went then.  Sorry to hear about cancelled Cuba cruises for everyone.  If you ever go on a Cuba cruise in the future, try to find an an itinerary with more than Havana.  Prices for rum/cigars about double in Havana vs, Santiago de Cuba.  The sanctions should have had a better grandfather clause.  Just my opinion.

I wish Msc would let us know what's happening with our itinerary. We booked a two week back to back starting 17 June and not so much as an email. We are flying from New Zealand with our 10 month old in just over a week. Would love them to hurry up and inform us. If we are lucky enough to get offered a refund like the other lines we want to take it and fly Miami to Bahamas. Hang there for a few days then onto cuba from there on a land based holiday.
