We are sailing soon and it will be our first time as Elite tier.I understand Laundry is included but does this include sending something to be ironed or is it just a washing service? Also if my husbands DJ needs cleaning will they do that for free or will I pay extra?

They will press items.

Husbands DJ? He takes one along for your cruises? I think Princess provides one.  😉

Yes we often send things out just to be ironed. We have stopped bothering with a garment bag so DH just packs his suit - first evening we send it in to be pressed so it’s all spiffy for formal night. So you can definitely get your husbands dinner jacket cleaned and pressed!

Thank you for your reply.MMy husband takes a dinner jacket when we cruise.Does Princess provides a cleaning service so that it can be cleaned if necessary between formal nights and is the cost of this 'specialist cleaning' included in the Laundry free for Elite passengers

Yes they will clean and press and it is included in the Elite laundry service.

Just be aware also of long turn around times for the laundry, sometimes 3 days or more.

Double check with your cabin Stewart about those times.

I am always wary anymore of using the cleaning service as they use a very high heat.

I don't send anything delicate out

I have not had issues with any suit or dinner jackets.

We have not had any additional charges for things that we have sent out.

There is a clothes iron in the self serve laundry rooms if you are so inclined.

Stuff gets wrinkled even in a garment bag. I have a tux shirt that has a yellowed collar so I will send it out the first day rather than paying to have it cleaned here. Also send out the tux if anything gets in it.  Last cruise I brought some sweaters that needed cleaning and sent them out also.

Dry cleaning is not cheap here   .

One other thing that I didn’t realize when we first became Elite and started using free laundry services was that it would incur a charge on our cruise account. This is followed by a credit but it isn’t always immediate. I found it confusing the first time. But just double check your bill to make sure all the charges are cancelled out by a credit.

Not yet being Elite I had no idea it was a freebie to have a suit ironed. SWEET! (Two cruises this fall October/November and after the first one we will have 154 days. 🥃)

Experience has taught us to never send anything to a ship's laundry that we care if it gets damaged or discolored.  HAL is the worst, Oceania the best and Princess somewhere in the middle -- although, I suspect like everything else, this is ship specific.  I think socks are the only thing my wife will send of hers.  On ships that don't have self-laundries, she washes her delicates in the sink and hangs them to dry.

Agree.    I've had a number of items damaged  over the years.

It's just a matter of time before they'll ruin something of value.
