Buying CCL at 8.00 Dollars a share is a good bet if you look at the past earrings. The stock will go up how long it takes that is the question. We're asking how to go about buying shares in the first place. Can we buy 100 shares as a one off purchase? Do we have to have an online platform account that's continually costing money? What's more economical for buying 100 shares (and no others) - A UK Stocks and Shares ISA or a different type of account. All of your knowledgeable advice on actually where to buy 100 shares and which account is most welcome. Thank you all. Open a share account, transfer in enough funds to cover the purchase and fees. When funds in place make the purchase from your share account. Any residue from share account can be returned to your account. In addition, in the UK there are Share Isas and SIP as options. Again, your Bank will have all the details for you. Wellydancer Posted April 7, 2020 #703 Share Posted April 7, 2020 Thank you Port Royal. It's another thing I'll look at tonight. We're all in a UK lockdown and the garden might be our only holiday this year so on with the tidying! 😁

Might be my inexperience, but I was just expecting to see something saying: Mr. XXX X XXXXX, Acct: YYYY YYYY owns 100 shares of CCL as of 04/02/2020. 😄 Maybe not a billboard, but something more obvious than what I currently seeing. Also, it may be that I only bought a week ago, so might not have showed up on my statement page. Just really not sure what I was looking for?? Yes you do get shareholder benefts from CUK https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f This document states the shareholder benefits for Carnival stock owners. Carnival Corporation is CCL, while Carnival PLC is CUK. Both get the exact same OBC benefits for shareholders. LucyR. Posted April 7, 2020 #717 Share Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) I am 80 yrs.old and I have always wanted to buy stock just to have it. My Adult son didn't want to help me buy Carnival stock last week for $8. per share. So today I decided to ask for help from Fidelity Investments. I went on-line first and then when I needed to transfer money from my checking acct to the Fidelity acct. I chose to call and pay a Fee for HELP. A very nice Lady helped me to buy 100 shares of Carnival stock. I am glad I asked for help because I am not tech savey. I have been cruising since I was in my 30's. Now that I am a senior I have the money to invest on Carnival Stock. I am not looking to make more money but to become a stock holder. It is a super high risk but I am willing to GAMBLE and win or loss. I see it as an investment to help the cruise lines that have given me so much joy and improvement in my life. That is my main goal to invest in their future. I come from a family of gamblers since the 1800's when a great uncle got shot playing cards in a Texas Saloon. Many of my relatives are Gambling Addicts. I am a CRUISE ADDICT. I cried tears of joy when I finally accomplished my goal of buying stock. Part of my Bucket list. YEAH! Edited April 7, 2020 by LucyR. How nice you were able to achieve this dream. It may not be as high a risk as you think. The stock is selling way below its normal market value. I'm by no means an expert, but really expect to see a steady increase over the next several years, after we get by this Coronavirus stuff!! I am a bit peeved at your son!! Why would he not help you?? I'm assuming you are well, and that you can afford it. What I wouldn't give to be able to help my Mom achieve a dream of hers. Congratulations again! taglovestocruise Posted April 8, 2020 #724 Share Posted April 8, 2020 UBS sizes up the balance sheets of the cruise line operators after factoring in the latest cash-preservation moves by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH +7.5%) and Royal Caribbean (RCL +12.5%), as well as the capital raise by Carnival (CCL +12.0%). Analyst Robin Farley: "CCL's capital raise last week gives it the longest runway of liquidity to stay afloat in a zero-revenue scenario, at about 12-13 months with potential for another 2 months based on prolonged layups, and more beyond that (as we detail below.) That puts CCL further ahead of RCL, which we believe has ~10 months of liquidity in a zero-rev scenario, and NCLH which we believe has ~7-8 months of liquidity in such a scenario." UBS has a 12-month Buy rating on Royal Caribbean and Neutral ratings on Carnival and Norwegian.
