CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted June 6, 2020 #3276 Share Posted June 6, 2020 (edited) So far all I've gotten back is cruise fare for May 5 cruise, but haven't received $200. And don't know why. Other 2 cruises, including Todays we should have been heading to Alaska..... Nothing. And Nothing but Delay messages to our cc disputes. I am really fed up with that as well. We got a casino Comp offer of Balcony & $1,000 freeplay, but even that Didn't entice me to book for next year. Nothing doing until all 3 cruises are refunded in Full! hpeabody Posted June 6, 2020 #3277 Share Posted June 6, 2020 I am due a partial refund (substantial dollars) as I was put off a ship in mid cruise in March after the pause was announced. Princess is ignoring ... So, I am attempting to dispute with Chase, but it is not going well. This is quite complicated and I am thinking I may be declined. Currently waiting on snail mail sent May 27 with explanation. I am curious if anyone has had success getting their money refunded through Chase dispute (Or even any other credit card) when the amount requested is not an exact amount matching a specific or even combined charges to your account? I have never taken a cruise before this was to be our first and I have always hesitated for a number of reasons but now I am not sure I ever want to go again.. if I ever get my money back I will be stuck with a 1300 gift card but we will have to suck it up and go or lose the money.. oh well lesson learned, You can sell the gift card but at a slight loss but it's better then loosing your whole amount. A week later Princess changed the final payment date to April 3, with notice that you could cancel with full refund by the that date. We cancelled on March 23rd and were told by our TA that refund would be within 30 days, which then became 60 days and we are still waiting. I've tried calling Princess and since I used a TA they won't tell me anything. I have continued to contact my TA and am told my refund is in process. I have advised her that I will file a dispute with my cc company on June 11th, the day after the cruise moved into the tour portion. She said that may delay the refund even further, but at this point I am so frustrated with Princess I plan to follow through with it. Princess is doing great harm to this customers loyalty! Hi, This is totally BS, I used TA too but Princess representatives were able to give me my info. Ignore whoever told you that lie, call Princess, they know more than your TA. jat1977 Posted June 6, 2020 #3283 Share Posted June 6, 2020 Still waiting to see the actual money hit our Bank of America cc. Princess told us on 5/29 that our refunds had been processed that day. Our TA followed up 6/1 and was told the same thing. Since I have been checking our cc account every day and have not seen the refunds, I called BOA yesterday to see if they could see that the refunds were at least pending and nope! But our cruise was on the Regal 3/22 and ppl on that same cruise had their refunds processed the same day as ours (5/29) and have already received the money! I have seen a few ppl say that their refunds which were supposedly processed somehow got held up by Princess for some "unknown" reason and I am beginning to think that is what happened to ours. I was so excited when Princess told us that our refunds had been processed but now I am back to that VERY frustrated feeling.

I was given a process date and then a release date where it is sent to the bank. I think Princess is processing thousands of refunds and then every 2 weeks, releasing the funds. I think Princess told you correct that it was processed. I am guessing they will release the funds this Friday and you will see the refund next week (probably Wednesday or so). Or maybe they were released this past Friday and then will show up this week. I am guessing next week though by their pattern. I have friends on my sailing who received their refund 2 weeks earlier than I did. Edited June 6, 2020 by Coral

DavidandHeather Posted June 7, 2020 #3292 Share Posted June 7, 2020 Firstly I am in the UK, spoke to our bank and we have a 120 day limit for charge back, as we were fully paid up in February that is not an option for us unfortunately. Managed to get a full list of all payments made, dates amount and card number, going to look at all our legal options now, possibly using the small claims court route, just looking at the moment but should we reach 90 days (15 days to go) this may be the way to proceed. Munini Posted June 7, 2020 #3294 Share Posted June 7, 2020 We are from the UK as well. I cancelled our princess cruises on the 24th March which was supposed to sail on the 28th. I will be calling them tomorrow to find out about the refund. Have to think of a way to push them to give our hard earned money back.

There’s no logic to any of this. Our request was acknowledged on 14th March for our Panama Canal trip on Island from 9th May. People applying for refund and FCC after 14th March and sailing after 9th May have received refunds. Good luck with the Small Claims Court. Be interested to know how that goes. I haven’t encountered the 120 day chargeback issue on UK credit cards, although it will take the card providers at least six weeks apparently to even look at the claim. Its a complete lottery on when and how these rebates arrive, but having been due several refunds from cancelled events this one is the only one outstanding and has been by a long way the most aggravating. I do not accept any further delays.

akswimmom Posted June 7, 2020 #3298 Share Posted June 7, 2020 Was happily surprised to have our FCD back to my credit card this morning. Cancelled our Dec 2020 cruise on March 15th. Also had a credit for two FCD's that expired on 5/15 refunded at the same time. 1

We were told 60 days, it's now day 75, on checking the cancellation notice no period is stated which now occurs to me was less than honest. Getting stressed and worried here as we are owed just short of £12000 hard earned money.
