I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled all in one appointment before I was discharged from the service. They weren't giving me any problems or impacted at that time but I thought better now than later and especially that Uncle Sam was paying for it. Smart man as usual. 😉 After that tooth pull...I think I will need to prescribe myself some wine...maybe a bottle with a straw in it. 😉 Have already purchased chicken broth and jello...yummies. 😜 Just in case. They may stay in the cabinet in favor of that wine...had me my straw...and put some Pink Floyd on the CD player after the appointment. I bruise easy...poor Bucky is going to get some "looks" if neighbors see me out with him after the procedure. 😮

I am 61 and had teeth pulled for orthodontic reasons when young. I had bed memories - this time I seriously hardly felt it. No more pain now. Good luck, but if your experience is like mine, thinking is worse than the reality. Thanks...you are giving me courage...can use all I can get! 😉

I only had 2 wisdom teeth, and they never descended. My dentist was worried about potential complications of them just hanging out in the middle of my skull (ok, they weren’t quite that high, but they were pretty high above the gum line), so she had me get them surgically removed. Digging them out when really well, the surgery was painless thanks to good gas, and recovery was not bad at all, thanks to good drugs 🙂 I am having it done at the dentist, guessing no gas involved. She seems to think it will be "easy peasy" as she called it. Hope so.

Just talked to DH, and he only had novocaine- said it was easy peasy, and he went into work that night (back then he was a restaurant manager). Minimal pain after the fact, and he just took a couple Tylenol

Bucky will be getting the stink eye for sure. Speaking from experience. In another life many years ago my first wife and I went skiing. Long story short she wiped out. Broke her nose, split her lower lip open and blackened both eyes all before all I could get her to the emergency room. After surgery she looked even worse. When I was growing up my parents did not have dental insurance and we could not afford to go to the dentist. The first time I went to see a dentist I was 16 and it was because it was a requirement to get into nursing school. The second time I went was after I graduated and had insurance and I was 20. I was a pretty good patient for many years. Oh, Where was I going with this. I remember. I still have all my wisdom teeth. Yup all 5 of them😲 Guess I was given one to spare, yup, only me. And every year for 35+ years the dentist has offered to remove them. And every year for 35+ years the patient has refused to remove them. Besides, they have not yet caused me grief, and I am knocking on wood, that they don't. Good luck with your dental appointment, and it actually was not bad. Be safe I grew up in a time when the only time we saw a dentist was to get our piece of paper that went on the school class bulletin board. I was always the last one so our class could be 100%. We didn't have fluoride. Every molar in my mouth I got as a child is filled with amalgam including the sides. Thankfully I only have one crown. I also have trigimenal neuralgia and when it wakes up fiddling with your teeth can be impossible. A few years ago it moved to one tooth. That one tooth drove me crazy for months and the dentist could find nothing but said the old filling could well be cracked. So on that side of my mouth I had all the fillings replace with the composite white stuff and my TN went back into remission. The other side is still all silver and maybe one day I will get all that replaced. I also have all of my wisdom teeth and they are fine. And have no cavities. I'm not food of losing any teeth due to the TN. So many people say it was the result of dental work or a misplaced needle to deaden. I'm glad to see comments about implants. I was furious when my hubby came home and said the dentist suggested an implant for a molar that he might lose (he didn't) over one of those other things. I told him he needed to ask about side effects in someone his age (over 75). I guess I needed to read up on it more. It came very natually for me. I taught myself to read music but I don't really like to. Reading music is playing what someone else was feeling. I play what I am feeling. The piano has always been a way for me to express what I am feeling inside.

I didn't have gallstones, but other things I could keep in formalin. But no. They always send them to pathology for incineration. Mechanics give you your car parts back if you want them. Anyway, the wisdom teeth are kind of cool. They have really long roots. The lowers weren't extracted in one piece, so I couldn't recover them. I found to be creepy but neat. She gave to me and said do whatever you wish with them. I threw them out when I got home. 3
