Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

This and last year were only years I have not visited nyc since moving to Dallas 39 years ago, we get pizza normally daily , love that you can get a slice at 2 in the morning, pastrami is high on my list along with some great Italian restaurants .

My mouth is already watering.

Here, as you know, there's construction all over the place.  So many changes and growth here.  I love how when I go back "home" nothing has changed.  It's always the same happy place I grew up and got to know until our move to TX.

Having said that, both my husband and I now love living in a place where we usually have to wear heavy winter coats only once every 10 years. 🤣  I just hope we don't have another freezing spell like the one we had in February.

buying a lift. LOL.

A lift for stacking vehicles?  Those are pretty nice.  I have a friend that has two of them.  He stacks a couple convertibles above other cars, and is able to fit 6 vehicles in a 4 car garage.

just secured our walk through of our FL house on the 26th 🙂  Our tenants are out of town but agreed we can stop by. WOOHOO!!!! Nate is quite anxious to see the garage. He's got all these visions in mind...buying a dehumidifier, putting actual windows where the screens are, buying a lift. LOL.  I'll be lucky to get a new blender for my kitchen 😉

Somehow, I think you'll manage to get a few of your toys as well.  At least, as long as Nate knows what's good for him.  Happy wife...

I found a little bit of local whiskey rivalry.  There's a restaurant on Amelia Island called The Sandbar that claims to have the largest whiskey selection in Northeast Florida.  When golfing in the Ponte Vedra Beach area a couple of days ago, we ate at a place called V Pizza.  They had a very impressive 2 story wall of whiskey (wish I had taken a picture).  When the waiter heard us talking about The Sandbar having the largest selection, he immediately called BS, saying that The Sandbar includes things like Fireball and Crown Apple that he said are definitely NOT whiskey.  For pure whiskey, THEY have the largest selection.  He was very adamant.  That shows you how popular whiskey has become.

Part 1 of our day is finished, and gearing up for more fun tonight. Today, we went to a relatively new animal park called Keystone Safari.

First stop was in the butterfly house.  Lots of Monarchs in there.

Packed up car.
Off to twinsburg.
Needed 4 tables to have then nicely set  up.
ready to put on tables Saturday when they come out of cooler.
Organized centerpieces for florist on Saturday.

Then I had to P

Now I am fumbling trying to turn it off when the phone rings. It is the 911 call center in twinsburg Ohio.
I had to verify I was ok.
They were very thorough in there questions and realized it was a mistake.

They told me to be more careful in future.
I don’t know how it happened.
Turned my phone off till I got home.

Time for 🍷

Similar thing happened to me while trying to move a sofa bed out of the basement.  We were stuck and I was holding half the weight of the sofa.  I couldn't let go of the sofa.  I must have bumped my Apple Watch hard enough that it thought I had fallen and was counting down to a 911 call.  My daughter scrambled under the sofa to press the button to cancel the call just in time.  I wondered what would have happened if she had not cancelled the call in time.  Now I know. 😄

Our plan for tonight

Glow night tonight.  I hope to get a few night shots to try out night mode on the iPhone 12 Pro.

I don't have grandkids yet, but I know the idea as a grandparent is to spoil your grandchildren and then hand them back to their parents.  If I was your grandkid (I'm still available for adoption), I don't think I'd want to leave.

Safe travels to you. Sorry for your wife's losses.

We'll be driving up to NJ beginning of August. Not sure how long we'll stay.  Maybe 2-3 weeks.  For me it will be pizza, bagels, pastrami, and mostly anything found in NJ diners.  Did I mention pizza? 🍕

NJ is great for the following

great restaurants

pizza

bagels

prior to 2020 -  proximity to NYC

and not having to pump gas

How did you like V Pizza? It’s a small local chain and there’s one near me.
I love their wood fired pizzas, and their flour, tomatoes, cheeses, etc come from Italy.
They also make a pretty good Italian Roast Beef. Not quite as good as in Chicago, but good.

August is a great time to enjoy Jersey corn on cob and tomatoes.

If you dont mind me asking, what part of NJ will you be visiting?

Storm coming?

It just missed us. We got the game in though with a 5-2 loss.

The league is “messed up” this year, thanks to Covid, so teams are playing other teams that are comparable but not equal and from centre’s we don’t usually play.

Tonight’s game was against a better AA centre and kids a year older. They were exceptionally rough and pushy.   By the end of the game two of their players had yellow cards, one a direct red and their coach had a direct red card too. One of our players got a yellow for pushing back.

We only play them once more towards the end of the season. Happy not to see them

for a while.
