For those who might be interested the Bee has started a semi - live from Radiance heading to Vancouver! .This might be an entertaining one. 🙂

Something tells me it won’t be as entertaining as when she would post her stories.

Today to celebrate my birthday I got my stitches out from my Moh's surgery almost 2 weeks ago. Then this evening took the grandkids to chuck e cheese for a school fundraiser. Who knew Chuck E Cheese was so expensive.

Happy Birthday

Can you explain what the people are waiting for.  In Gibraltar when storms are predicted we  usually cancel appointments and take in the washing.

Hi @ollienbertsmum

I agree with Ocean Boy. We Rhode Islanders do like to storm watch, but only when it's safe and the storm is still many miles off the coast. Once it gets close, we head home and "batten down the hatches."

This afternoon my DH and I drove down to the Point Judith Lighthouse in Narragansett around 2:30pm, but it was still low tide, so there were not any extraordinary waves, but it was very windy and the surf was beginning to roll.

In the distance, we could see some really high and rolling surf around the bend from the lighthouse at Camp Cronin, but we did not want to travel down the dirt road to get there and take close up photos of the surfers. We could also see the Block Island Ferry struggling on its way down Block Island.

This was super-zoomed in, so it's quite grainy. Sorry about that.

I’m going to try to add a couple of “live” shots from my iPhone that captured the sounds of the flag at the lighthouse whipping about in the wind on flagpole and the waves crashing.
I hope 🤞 that they will appear and that one of the iPhone to Android magicians 🪄 like @Ozark_Kid will be able to convert them?  I noticed (John) was online a little while ago, so maybe he can??

I heard this roaring sound in the sky this afternoon like fighter jets doing a flyby over our neighborhood.  I knew by the time I grabbed my phone and ran outside, it’d be gone.  But someone did manage to capture a picture of 3 of the 5 jets flying in formation.  She shared it with us on the neighborhood email group.

This is 2 of the jets.

Renee @ReneeFLL, can Mike identify the jet from the photo?  A son of a neighbor’s friend who is very interested in aviation says that “They look like early model F/A-18s (C/D models) because they only have 4 underwing hard points.  Probably Marine Corps because the Navy has pretty much switched completely over to the newer Super Hornets (E/F models) which are slightly larger and have 6 underwing hard points.”  Is this correct?

That would be hilarious except my husband had a humongous calcium pill stuck in his throat this week . Coughing and coughing didn’t bring it up so I drove him to the ER or what I now call the waiting room . They wouldn’t even give him some water . We left after 1 1/2 hours .  I know they triage the patients but still .

I arrived safely at my bio-dad's house in Alabama last night.

And look what just got built about twenty minutes before I got there:

I met my half-sister and her husband and son last night.  Then today, Bill and I spent part of the day dealing with the VA. He was exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam, and the VA is supposed to be covering his medical expenses, but in typical governmental bureaucratic fashion, you have to jump through certain hoops in a certain order.  He was hospitalized last week, and he's been trying for a week to get the VA to cover his new meds ($800/month).

We got him switched over to a new primary care VA doctor in a different clinic, and that doc is writing the referral to the gastroenterologist so the GI doc can write the scrips so the VA will cover the meds.  This new clinic is an extra 20 minutes' drive for him (almost an hour one way now), but the staff is much kinder and willing/able to communicate with him.  It just stinks that he has to drive a longer distance just to be treated with respect -- our veterans deserve better!  (It's also only two weeks to get an appt as a new patient in this new clinic -- the rude clinic had a four month wait for an appt!)

Tonight we went to an aunt's house, and cousins from Texas and Florida arrived.  Tomorrow is the big family reunion.

I'm heading back to Michigan on Tuesday... and I'll be stopping at Buc-ee's on my way out of town!

Love your t-shirt! and great that you are able to organise to get Bill better care & financial assistance

Hot Saturday in Sydney 35c/95f.  Went to a community day in North Sydney.  The Harbour Trust were doing free guided tours of the former torpedo factory.  The three level site is where torpedos were built in WWII. Interesting history tour and a beautiful restored site next to the harbour.

Average speed in NYC is 12 mph, worst in the country. And no doubt Manhattan is bringing down that average.

I had no idea it would be that slow.

He said it’s an F/A-18 Hornet like your friend thought. He wasn’t sure if it was an earlier model. He said the later ones are bigger and the wings are more forward.

Happy birthday.  🎂🎂🎉🎉🎈🎈

I can say that I don’t miss those days at Chuck E. Cheese.  My grandkids have never been to one, and I doubt they ever will.

Mürren is a village that sits on a terrace next to a cliff at about 5400 feet above the valley floor.  The Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" had some scenes shot there in the late 60s (George Lazenby rather than Sean Connery 👎).  It's a popular place for base jumping.  I have a hard time even watching this video.  And no...neither my daughter not her husband are considering anything even close to this.

That is a pretty neat cliff walk.  I like that suspension bridge portion in one of the photos.  I doubt that I would ever get Susan out on it though.

I somewhat jokingly commented to my daughter that her husband is gripping the railing pretty tightly in the first photo.  She said it was swaying in the wind and was more than a little scary.
