Have a great week everyone.   We will be off line for most of the week.  Leaving for Halifax soon to catch an early flight to an AI in Cuba for the week.  Apparently no wifi in rooms buildings but there is in the lobby and common areas.  So I might be able to check in once in a while.  It's our first AI, as we usually choose to cruise instead... as I assume most people in this group as well 😉

Enjoy your trip. Would love to see pictures when you get back.

Sis, put some vicks around the ear and back of it if it hurts. I keep Vicks with me when I travel. Magic potion for everything! A Canadian cruising friend suggested it and now I am a believer.

Have a wonderful cruise.

If nothing else, it smells good.🙂

@BonTexasNY  So glad to hear that you are okay, Bonnie!  You sure had us worried.  I'm sorry to hear that Jennifer has to deal with MS.  I'm sure you are eagerly looking forward to her visit.

Do you have a date for your surgery?

Thank you so much, Maryann.  Friday, March 22 is the date.  I would prefer middle of the week but Friday is the only day he does surgery in the hospital as opposed to same day surgery facility.  Just my preference.  Someone will always be available if need be, on the week-end following surgery.

I'm glad I'm back to posting.  This is a great place to relax and forget worries for awhile.  I thank you all for that!

Something tells me that a very large % of all those Pinnacle certificates will be redeemed on the Icon simply due to the price difference.

Probably very true. It’s a great way for people wanting to check her out without paying the crazy prices. We were looking at a 7 day Freedom out of PE when I remembered the Icon was 7 days. It was a no brainer for us even though we really like the convenience of PE.

Today is cruise day !!

We've had a very enjoyable four days in Singapore. Weather has been humid but often with cloud cover so doesn't feel too hot. Lots of walking, over 22,000 steps yesterday.  Near us is Clark Quay so we have enjoyed that area, lots of Riverside restaurants and did a mini river cruise. Also next to hotel is fort Cannjng Park. Really enjoyed the beauty and Serenity of the park with all the different vegetation and trees, plus the history of the bunker where Singapore was surrendered to the Japanese during WW2 (thanks @aussielozzie18for the suggestion).

Had to have a Singapore Sling at Raffles. Very expense but enjoyed the experience, thinking about all the famous people and history that went on in the Long Bar during the beginning of the last century.

Also went to the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands Hotel for cocktails,  great experience and was there for the light show right in front of us.

Yesterday we went to the Gardens by the Bay

The cloud dome was fascinating. Huge great indoor waterfalls, tropical plants and big variety of orchids, some so tiny you could only see them through a magnifying glass

Enjoying a Singapore Sling at Raffles Long Bar

Thanks.

Looks like spellchecker got you and changed ALS to ACL.

A couple of weeks ago I had my quarterly appointment with my Neurologist.   After 3 months  and losing another 10lbs and now weighing 142 lbs the Neurologist recommended taking in more fat such as eat more ice cream and drink more milk shakes.  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night I drank a milk shake.  Yesterday I was about to take a break when our DD from out of town surprised us.  She showed up with milk shakes for all!

Today we took a break and just had a DQ Blizzard.   Just goes to show that sometimes you can find a positive when things are not great.

You always have such a positive attitude. Please eat lots of ice cream and shakes. Looking forward to meeting up with you again on Bella’s cruise. You know if I could help you with the ice cream I would. To bad it doesn’t work that way. Lots of hugs from Mike and I.

I wish I could fold a fitted sheet that way.  I have looked at a lot of videos and I am still not able to do it.  I think part of the problem is my arms are very short.  So my fitted sheets are crumpled squares in my linen closet.

I don’t have short arms and mine still look that way. I’ve given up trying to make them look any better. It’s a waste of time for me.

After a few days of wind and rain we are having a beautiful day in Southern New England. It is 57° and the first bike ride that I have had in maybe 3 months.

Me too though truthfully idk if it's me or royal but I cant find anything new or interesting to book with royal. I pulled up vtg just to view the other choices.

Ncl has 2 ships and princess at least 1 out of pc. Reasonable prices.

Carnival has a 14 day journey cruise, but costs more on a per day basis. Those journey cruises are pricey. Inside starts around $3500 bottom deck inside. Usually around 6k balcony, but different ports. Idk why royal cant once in a while do stuff like these 14 day carnival.

Ncl and princess about the same price. I've done each 3 times before and dont know which I'd rather do. Some different ports. Anyone have a preference between princess and ncl. Idk. I'll be a couple of weeks from pinnacle about this time, so I'd rather hit pinnacle, but royal I'd have to book same as I've already booked. Utopia even seems not terrible, but doing it next feb. Part of me wants to nail pinnacle down, part of me doesnt want to just repeat cruises I'm already doing.

2 weeks on rcl would put me at pinnacle... or book ncl or princess. Celebrity doesnt go out of PC. And I dont think I'd like msc. .. just fooling around today.

Was up again last  night coughing so I'll call the new doctor my gp recommended. Whatever it is the eye doctor isnt curing it. Pneumonia I'm thinking tbh. And other things tomorrow. Need to stop this coughing so I can move on with my life. Been over a month now.

Thanks Renee!  I've been getting in 3 to 4 milkshakes a week!  Love it.

I sure enjoyed meeting you on Icon. Because of the ones that I've met on past cruises and others from here I have the opportunity to meet on Bella, I am keeping my hopes up to cruise on the Wonder. I can think of at least 2 that still haven't booked it that would elevate my hopes.

Maybe on the 1st day of Bella we can enjoy an ice cream cone together.

Thanks for sending the hugs! Love them!  I never did hear for sure if someone on your cruise after Icon enjoyed a hug.....  🤔

From PC:

December 2024 to April 2025 Celebrity Equinox.

December 2025 to April 2026 Celebrity Apex.

Short 7 day cruises, but sweet.

These are on my cruise research radar.
PC is our "homeport" ....hour and half away (sometimes faster)  straight down 528 compared to Fort Lauderdale (3 hrs) and Miami (don't even talk about it!).

Tampa is close, but i have missed a cruise from there stuck on I4....Thank goodness it was only the Yacht Starship dinner and bay cruise! 😛😛

@firefly333  Get that cough checked out, Jane!  ❤️

Well I went to the gp. He didnt test for what's wrong I think, said he thought respiratory. Poor visit imo. He said he was sending to ear nose and eyes, but sent me just to eye doctor who said oil glands blocked, so I been following what he said, but still coughing I told gp. So new specialist.

Idk why it's so hard to find out why I'm coughing, especially at night if I lay down on the bed. Dont know this doctor is the answer but I'll go in and find out. Agree I am becoming concerned I've had it too long. Was not impressed with my gp visit. He prescribed a prescription vitamin D, stronger than over the counter I've taken 2 weeks.

I told my realtor in florida I cant come I'm sick.

My friend’s daughter has been coughing for a year with no diagnosis after x-rays and testing for allergies.  It’s a big , irritating puzzle .  She’s had Covid twice so maybe related or it could be psychological.

My daughter was coughing and had what she thought was a very bad cold.  She measured her oxygen level and it was too low . She went to the ER and was told bad cold but she insisted they take an x-ray and she had pneumonia.   The ER doc was dismissive .

Jane, we know how frustrating it is when you can’t find out the problem.  Did they do a chest X-ray?

No. But I also said I have a discharge from my eyes and nose. And it dries hard. Hence the ear nose and eyes doc that only does eyes. It's not just my chest, but my chest hurts from all the coughing at this point.

I wasnt happy with my gp either and his lack of caring. I kept thinking good thing I am changing doctors to florida. I left mad. He just whizzed in and out. But I'll keep at it trying to find a doctor who figures it out. It's gone on too long.

Not the kind of doctor anyone would want (or need!)  I do hope you'll find a great doctor who will listen to you, and will treat you accordingly.  I'm sorry you are hurting from your cough, and that the next doctor can treat you for that cough, Jane!
