Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

We plan to watch the Kentucky Derby race, not all the pre race coverage.

We looked over the horses slated to run.

DH picked Fierceness as Velazquez is the jockey and he usually roots for him. I picked Track Phantom.

We’ll see!

Seems the favorite is Sierra Leone. We don’t bet on much, but we have placed bets on the KD at a local OTB in the past. Are there any OTB places anymore?

A number of years ago, we attended a family wedding near Louisville KY.

Since it was a late afternoon wedding, we used the morning time to take a tour of Churchill Downs. It is a beautiful place.
We have also gone to Belmont Park for both the big race and other times for regular races. My DH’s grandfather was a member of the Track and Field club there and he would lend us his pass to have lunch at the club and watch the races.

Belmont has been changed to a casino and entertainment venue, although the race track remains.

Wishing you all a winning day!

Kentucky Derby today 5 hour tv show to cover a two minute race 😁, went to our favorite restaurant last night observed 4 woman at the next table all staring at there phones at the same time.

My friend and I watched the movie The Challengers at a movie theater along with maybe 8 other moviegoers.  It is pitiful how few people go to the movies. Perhaps, it is because the movie was so bad . Too long , too many flashbacks and it was rated R.  She is my former doubles tennis partner and it is about tennis . I would have left but she wanted to stay.

No chance of staring at phones at our table . No phones , books or newspapers allowed.

Okay.  I tried downloading a picture or two or 3 from my grandson Jack's Prom pictures  I still don't know what I'm doing (obviously).  So..the two duplicate pictures on the top of the page are 3 of our grandsons.  Jack on the left, William in the middle, and Ryan on the right.

The next picture is of Ryan and another friend of both Jack and Ryan.

The next is of Jack and his girlfriend.

The last is the group in front of the Limo.

Beautiful photos!    The making of some great memories for All to enjoy years to come.

Your Grandsons are all very handsome young men.

The friend to the far right in front of limo looks like he has lot of personality and would be a lot of fun to be around.

Oh, no! What could I be doing wrong?? Any suggestions?

Double oh, no! Is anyone able to see my pictures? I posted from my Google photos online. Made collages of most pictures to cut down on size but (of course) I can see them all fine.

Denny, don't feel like you need to make collages to cut down on size.  We all love to see photos.   The collages are very small on phones and harder to enjoy.  You can not over post cruise pics here!  Try posting jpeg individually from your phone or laptop.

My wife’s friend wanted to see Challangers ,since I am going we will see Fall Guy instead, we go to movies a lot , always studio movie grill so I can order margaritas and wife gets Chardonnay.

I always watch Kentucky Derby and Preakness and Belmont stakes , did attend Belmont stakes in the 1970’s but not interested in attending anything that has 100,000 other viewers.

Your wife’s friend will be missing out on male frontal nudity.  The tennis shots were great but a very annoying movie .

My only race track experience was at Del Mar in San Diego. Where the surf meets the turf .

You're not kidding!  We moved here 7 years ago, Two new red lights made their appearance just around my block, a new 55 and over community built around when we moved in, and the ground clearing in all directions of our town, an entire community of townhouse buildings are partially occupied while more buildings going up there, and way more ground clearing where low income housing will be going up.   I don't know where our town is going to find the room in our schools to contain the population of children who will be attending.

Rte 9 is only a one lane road, and our other main road is only two-lane.

I thought everybody from NJ, as well as the rest of the northeast, was moving south.  Everybody moving here seems to be from the northeast or Ohio.  We've said we are full, way too much building going on, pretty soon there won't be a tree left, it is sad.  We have passively looked around but to get away from it we would need to move farther away from the beach than we want to.

All in all a good day. My one classmate that I was worried about said a few stupid things trying to push my buttons and I just rolled my eyes. He later apologized. Fair enough.

The pics bring back great memories.  Thanks!

LOL!  We did move South😁 An hour away from our very crowded Staten Island with so much traffic, we did get away from it for a couple of years, and our grandchildren have made some awesome friendships here, not to mention the opportunities discovering the talents the four of them all have shown to have been blessed with!  With that said, it is becoming quite full here..just saying..🤨

Thank you so much, Debbie!  Yes, the young man on the far right does show a lot of confidence!

Anyone looking for a great horse racing experience should try Keeneland in Lexington, KY.  It's a beautiful track...nicer than Churchill Downs.  The only problem is that they only race for 3 weeks in April and 3 weeks in October.  It's a lot of fun with great tailgating before the races.  Fun people watching also with some serious money floating around.  It would match up well with a Bourbon Trail tour. 😁

On our trip to Lexington in March we went for a family trip, but at the wrong time a week before the track opened which I heard was great and tried to visit a distillery on the bourbon trail on a Monday when they were closed .

just go back from seeing the Fall Guy, super fun action movie with a great cast with some comedy also , highly recommend.

My Kentucky Derby selection - I pick Sierra Leone to win (I like the name).   I would love to see the longshot West Saratoga to win.

As a Bob Dylan fan I am going wit Forever Young , one of my favorite songs at 10 to 1.
