I certainly hope so too.

Take it easy for a day or two, it seems that the "side effects" after the 2nd dose (either Moderna or Pfizer) are more "in display".  DH was affect more than me, same "flu like" symptoms for a day after the 2nd dose.

"They" say side effects are a good sign 😉

That's what the fire rescue guy told me that gave me the shot.  "First shot just to set you up..this one will show you it's really working".  Indeed, I think I would be more worried if I had no reaction.

Sometimes I watch The Love Boat retuns just to look at the ship. The secondary stories are usually pretty lame.

We bought the DVDs for all 9 seasons of Love Boat last summer during the pandemic and have been binging the show ever since. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it makes us miss cruising more. But it's fun, super-cheesy entertainment.

Now we are watching My Feet are Killing Me. I can’t fathom the pain that these individuals go through. My SIL can watch zombie movies all day long but a promo for this show makes her wince.

I LOVE this show. Also Dr. Pimple Popper, although sadly now her show has moved to the D+ streaming service which we don't have. I don't mind paying for Netflix or Disney streaming, but I already pay for Discovery and its related channels on cable, so why should I ALSO have to subscribe to their D+ streaming to get their best shows? So annoying. (We will probably cave and pay for it eventually.)

Totally agree.  Not happy at all about the D+ streaming service.  So many of my fave shows have moved there.  Like you I'll probably cave as well.

How cool is that. 👍 Home grown pineapples and avocado's, I'm jealous.

Have to keep the young tender ones (and the ripening Pineapples when they happen) inside the courtyard.  The Deer and the Squirrels find them very tasty.  😠

But yes...those fresh ripe Pineapples...oooohhhh so sweet, juicy and delicious!  😋🍍

My little Avocado pit I transferred recently into this pot has gown 2 inches in just a week.  She seems happy in her new dirt!  🌱

I like a lot of the shows on D and D+ but will not pay extra for the D+.  it irks me that they move so many shows over to the extra pay channel.  If it was movies or new series maybe.

If you are talking about Discovery Plus channel, we are getting a year’s subscription free from Verizon Wireless. Check with them. Last year we had Disney Plus free. And this is good on all the devices under your one account.

I hope this helps some of you.

Since we are in Florida, I used a "Florida Avocado" for my start.  Naturally ate it's mother 😉  then took the pit and set it in a small bowl of water with four tooth pics stuck at 1/4 inch around each in the middle with the "hole" you see pointed down into the water.  Half inside the water, half outside.

Set in the window inside for sunlight, and watched it for 3 weeks.  Sure enough a little sprout started up on it, and tiny roots coming out of the bottom.  Waited another 2 weeks, then transferred into the pot of dirt.  Growing fast now.

Picture I found on line might help you...

Got my second shot!  🙂

Not as organized as the first one.  Four weeks ago we arrived at drive through appointment with county health department with two lanes open, no cars in either one,  and a lot of bored health care workers standing around.  Was in and out of there (including 15 minute observation wait time) in just over 20 minutes.

This time:

Yesterday we arrived 30 minutes prior to our 3:30 appointment, to find two lines of cars down the road before you could even enter the driveway.  Picked a lane (ended up being the worst lane) and watched 20-25 cars in other lane creep slowly up while we mostly moved a couple of feet every 5 minutes in our lane.  Not sure what was going on up there with the head of our lane and why so backed up and slow.

By the time we got up there for our shot it was 45 minutes later.  County fireman were helping to give the injections, they were great!  With me getting the shot on drivers side, then Bucky on passenger side...I heard one of them ask our tech how many doses he had left...he replied "just one"!   Which he gave to Bucky on the other side.  They then shut that lane down and directed the rest to other lane, which only had 8-10 cars in it by that time.  They were totally shut down by 4:15.  We got lucky.

Side effect this morning:  I have very sore arm and some aches, Bucky has much more aches...but neither of us are having much problem.  Bucky out washing my SUV right now...good boy!!  🙂

Hope the pain is short lived Pat and you and Bucky are fine tomorrow.

🤞 for your BIL full and speedy recovery. This Covid is so nasty, comes back again, seems it doesn't want to give up 😢.

That's the benefit of vaccination - even if you get it, it is very mild. As of now, we have millions vaccinated with the 2nd dose, and the results are amazing, even better than what Pfizer published, reaching up to 98%.

I'm really pleased for you and your fellow citizens Dani.

Graham.

Speaking of which: I've just read that the situation in UK is improving.

For the 1st time since July, the R is less than 1 (between 0.7 and 0.9). That's really good news, and it seems that the rate of vaccination is also improving.

I think that for now, the vaccine is the most efficient "weapon" we ALL have against the pandemic.

Thanks Dani.

Our NHS have worked wonders vaccinating close to 14 million of the most vulnerable citizens so far the over70s and hospital staff.

Well...spoke too soon.  It hit Bucky now after getting too rowdy too soon this morning with washing the SUV, then deep cleaning the grill, and misc. other chores this morning.  He is down for a nap, going zombie, and being "grouchy bear" as he does when he does not feel well.  He is achy all over like the flu now.

Me, that sore arm has crept up into my neck and down both arms and my back, plus the mild headache.  Still...makes us realize the vaccine is now active and working.  Much better than what would happen if we got full on Covid 19!!  😮

Yes, definitely much better than getting Covid.   Are you allowed to take Tylenol for the aches and pains or maybe some wine instead 😘

Sorry to hear about your family...and your MIL.  Don't want to wish that on anyone.  At least, since you have not been seeing her...she can't blame it on you.  😉 Very...very sad about your BIL.  😞

Happy to hear you are feeling better.  Hopefully the worst is over.

I don't wish Covid on anyone, not even her.    The nurses and aids at the hospital are definitely going to be thrilled when she leaves.      Eric hasn't been at her house since right before Christmas so definitely not from our family.   She goes shopping a lot and Eric says she never wears the mask properly and of course, never listens to him when he would tell her to pull it up over her nose.    Oh well!

Make sure you check the filter on your HVAC system.    A couple years ago I was doing some renovations then out of the blue my AC stopped working.    didn't even dawn on us to check the filter, my Hvac guy came out and had a good laugh (I have known him for several years).    My filter was full of dust from the renovation that it was suffocating my central AC.   changed filter and viola I had AC again.

Thanks. We are doing that this weekend and having the contractor check/clean out the exhaust vent that was just installed. At least the tile was installed today.

If you need a fix Dr PP still posts some videos on YouTube.  Just not as many since her snow went to Discovery.
