I've got a very old memory of Nantucket.  Both sides of my family are from the Boston area and my mother's family almost all ended up migrating to the Cape as they got older.  Truro, Wellfleet, and South Yarmouth, to be specific.  One year when we were visiting (50+ years ago), we took the ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket for a couple of nights.  While that was interesting, the memorable part was that my parents splurged for a plane ride back to the Hyannis airport.  I remember squeezing 2 adults and 3 kids (plus the pilot) into a small prop plane for the short trip.  It may have been my first ever plane ride???  The details have faded, but I remember that plane ride more than anything that we did while on the island.  I imagine that the island has changed significantly since then...as has the Cape.

GORGEOUS!!!!!!!  What a lucky kid, spending your childhood there!  No wonder you live near the ocean at your home in R.I.

Have the beaches reopened?  They were still saying on the news this morning that debris is still washing up in some places.

Our grandson Jack and his friends have done it again!  Two of their films have been selected to be shown at the All American High School  Film Festival at a theater on 42nd Street, Manhattan, this coming October.  It is going to be a Red Carpet Affair.  It will also be an ongoing weekend of films and workshops for the kids.   We are so excited for him, and naturally, very proud of his accomplishments.😊

How exciting is that? Congratulations to your grandson.

Maryann, your grandson is going places for sure!

Thank you so much, Marietta!  He's a determined, hard working young man.  He spends so many hours editing, etc. all of the films he helps to produce and direct.  He works with a great group of kids.

Thank you, aussie!  Not me;  his Mom will be escorting him, I'm sure!  Jack's girlfriend is also one of the group, so I expect her to be there also.😉

One of my “kids” sent me  this photo from their roadtrip in BC this week.  I replied “will you have time to walk the suspension bridge?”AAC1A1D9-1AD0-45A7-950E-D78E288DD0FF.thumb.jpeg.01ff7700dc70db35397900b1c32907ad.jpeg

The reply “omg, they  are powerlines!”

Ooops!  I think I need to start looking at photos on the laptop rather than my little phone screen…

Btw, Love the name of these, the Brandywine Falls.

Good afternoon.

It is 73°F but cloudy now at 15.23pm.

At lunchtime we got these Fish fingers rolls and hot drinks and looked out to the North sea.

I hope everyone is safe and well and y'all have a wonderful day and weekend.

Thank you, Greg!  He's over the moon, as they say!  I immediately thought of you when he said something to his Mom about wondering what he will wear?!!  I told her about your exciting Hallmark experience and having to buy a whole new outfit since your weight loss.  With Jack, he's been growing like a weed.  It seems he always needs a new pair of dress pants, as well as his growing out of his sports jackets.

Some great vlogs on you tube highlighting Utopia's inaugural voyage.  I was happy to see Jordan Bauth skate as I've been following her vlogs for quite a few years.  So fun recognizing her castmates shown on her vlog through many weeks of training.  Show looks amazing.

I wonder why I thought of @Sea Dog Greg when the Pesky Parrot was shown, a wonderful improvement over Bionic Bar.

I can’t wait to experience the Pesky Parrot. As much as I love the Schooner Bar, this may be my new hangout.

Even though I've not seen it in person, I'll already declare that the Pesky Parrot is 1000 times better than the Bionic Bar.

Jetties and Sconset are open. I'm not sure about Surfside and Makaket.

Jetties is packed with people. This is Sconset when I was there earlier..

Doesn’t take much to top the Bionic Bar.

I hope they take out all of the Bionic Bars and replace them with the Pesky Parrot.
