I have a cruise out of Miami scheduled for July 12.  We'll see if it's a go.

Also booked a cruise out of San Diego in October because the price was right and we're thinking July might not be a go.

Us to...Magic?

Was that necessary?

No I guess you are right. There was no need to state the obvious.

My response was based on our vacation booked next month in the Outer Banks. We are being told it's probably going to be a no go.

Based on that I don't see how a cruise is going to be sailing .

There are no bookings at all until Sept. John Heald said they are reducing capacity

Have there been any specifics on how they are going to accomplish this? Easy to reduce capacity but what are they going to do about shows, dining, casinos, etc

Just booked a June 29th cruise. Hoping to get cancelled, but if we are good to sail, we are willing to take it

Since you're hoping to get cancelled,  I will infer that you booked it for the FCC and 600 in OBC.  The bulk of the OBC will be eaten up by the price differential between the bargain price you just booked and the new price you'll pay for the replacement cruise.

Again... .yes there are 4 ports which can be booked in august. If you post wrong facts ....

And there are other cruise lines besides Carnival that those with blinders don't research before they make unsubstantiated statements.  Royal has sailings available for sale out of Bayonne during the month of July on the Oasis.

I agree royal isnt tipping their hand and cancelling 30 days only at a time. Rcl allows you to book cruises they know wouldnt go to get more cash.

I do think carnival is tipping their hand somewhat by not allowing june and july bookings at all and in august only 4 ports out of the us can be booked. It wouldnt surprise me if carnival hopes those 4 ports might be a trial balloon. These are past the 100 day cdc no sail order ... guess we will just have to be patient and wait and see. .. just saying there probably is a reason these r ports only can be booked in august. Cdc could shoot them down, but there probably is a reason behind this.

I for one wouldnt book these dates unless I planned to go.

This is because they are trying to limit the max capacity instead of let the ship sail at full capacity. Those that have disappeared have already hit that mark. A sailing out of port Canaveral just reappeared for June. Looks like nothing is set in stone. We need to wait and see how this plays out.

Just announced on CNBC business news Carnival to phase in cruises starting AUGUST 1ST

I am relieved to finally have some closure on our July cruise.  I knew we weren't going for some time now but waiting for Carnival to have more options. Just trying to decide now if I want to do the refund or FCC. About 2/3 of the balance is gift cards so probably FCC makes sense.  There is always the chance of bankruptcy but I feel like Carnival is one of the better positioned lines and people aren't going to stop cruising forever.

It certainly appears to be the trend.  Cruises stop showing up in availability to book a week or so before the cancellation announcement.  We have a cruise booked on the Breeze that has booked for over a year.  Starting to wonder if that one will take place after all.

no, I have other cruises booked already. should be able to apply the FCC and OBC to one of those. I don't mind paying for a better ship or longer duration.

I think the new cruise I booked was 1 day longer, same ship, $200 more, but the crazy thing is they offered me a extra $100 obc to book early saver. Plus stock, so I'll have $800 obc? And owe $200.

So now I have early saver price protection I didnt have before and a extra surprise $100 booking bonus. And I'm solo, it's all for me to spend. Can do that cigarette boat and all those expensive excursions oh my.

So are they allowing us to stack OBC? I have Casino offers on my next two cruises (that have OBC) and I was wondering if I can apply the FCC and OBC from my cancelled cruises and stack the OBC, plus stock.

Carnival has always allowed stacking obc. I've done it multiple times.

Rcl does not allow obc stacking.

Rcl stopped allowing it I'd guess over 5 years ago, but time flies. I like rcl gives double credit for solo cruising if I pay double, turns out not for solo cabins, have 2 booked next april before I knew.

Ccl allows stacking obc, really hard to keep all the rules straight. FCC on rcl to me is a nightmare, and they changed rules twice.

Both have things I like and dislike.

What is wrong with knowing the ins and out of saving on a cruise and asking someone with knowledge a valid question?

So far during this virus, we've rescheduled a April Conquest sailing to September which we now doubt will take place, taking the refund on our July Sunshine trip and booked a Horizon cruise for September 2021. We're all over the map on this right now.
