How to lift and switch

Recommended Posts

Just had success with L&S for our cancelled July 2020 Symphony cruise to a 2021 July Symphony Cruise.

Western to Western

Within 4 weeks of original cruise

Same port and obviously same ship

This was also a Casino Cruise 🥳

Free play for all 3 of us also carried over

Exact same adjoining JS’s as well

Very happy with customer services on this resolution 👍🏻

Was a 25 min wait on phone FYI.

Happy Days!

Hopefully this has not come up in discussion.

I have a one week cruise from San Juan to the ABC islands the week after Thanksgiving this year.

I don't want to cruise until next year and want to L & S this cruise but the only exact cruise is the week after Thanksgiving,  Dec 26, and late Jan & Feb in 2022.  A week before the L & S was announced I booked a cruise on RCL for the week after Thanksgiving thus eliminating this date from the L & S. So what do you think Royal will do. I booked the cruise on board and have a great fare and an on board booking bonus.  Want to keep the benefits .... any ideas?

Thanks.

The sailing doesn't have to be exact - just the number of days. Just about any other sailing but Thanksgiving within 4 weeks should work.

Is a non Thanksgiving Cruise switch to a Thanksgiving switch  not allowed?? I thought just Christmas, New Years and Chinese New Year were the only exclusions

September 6th 2020.  After final payment can We Lift and Switch to 2021?

do it now, your price will be protected on new sailing within 4 weeks of your current sailing........do it now, may not have that option later.

There was a report from a couple days ago from someone who was initially denied then was allowed.

It’s such a dilemma to do it or not. I think we are getting closer to doing L&S for Sep 4 Alaska. Trying to make the decision before final payment due. My mom was like, we could switch it, then if cruising starts up again, just do a last minute this year...

Have they stopped the general ability to L&S??

Lift and Shift (Only available for sailings cancelled as part of our global suspension on May 20th, 2020) : If you prefer to move your existing booking to a 2021 sailing – we’re happy to move you! We will price protect the original pricing and/or promotion on the same itinerary, length, product, and stateroom category as your original sailing within 4 weeks (before or after) of the original sail date in 2021. For example, if you are moving from a July 30th, 2020 sailing, you can move to a sailing that is the same itinerary, length, product, and stateroom category, and the sail date between June 30th, 2021 – August 30th, 2021

Have 2connecting rooms on Symphony 9/16/20 that we tried to do L&S on but they have recategorized the same rooms to a different category so they are saying we have to switch to different rooms and of course there are no connecting rooms at the category level we have to switch to. It’s about $600 more per room. We are switching to same time frame 2021, same itinerary.

I would call back and try again.

they are allowing people to keep the same staterooms for categories that have been eliminated ( going from a 8D to a 4D).  This is really no different.

if you are in balconies the balcony dividers can also be opened so they kind of connect that way as well.

I can confirm we switched from an 8D to a reclassified 4D balcony that was the same room.

The ability to L&S sailings is still allowed until Aug 1.

it is only the cancelled sailings that have a different date.

Wow it is so badly worded on their latest Update page!   There should at least be one line saying that their existing CWC policy on all other dates remain in place!   I thought I had missed the boat!

They are two separate policies.  The CWC still states Aug 1.  This policy only refers to cancelled sailings.

Hi, Quick question. Did you have a comp room or a $ off? I just got off the phone with Club Royale and was told they wouldn’t L&S my comp cabins (hubby has one also, 3 in each room). On my cancellation letter it says “all promotions”. Not sure if I should try and call again or just get refund. Would prefer L&S. Thanks!

Success in using the L&S program.  My initial reservation for my free Pinnacle Cruise was on March 14, 2020 (Symphony) with an ocean view balcony stateroom.  The cruise was cancelled, and I rescheduled to a January 2021 cruise on the Rhapsody, and paid $500 more to upgrade to a Jr. Suite.  Yesterday I did a L&S to a February 2022 cruise on the Rhapsody (both cruises were 7 nights and I got the same J3 Jr. Suite category). There was no additional cost for the new cruise (except taxes & fees were $3 more).  Received an e-mail from RCCL confirming the change within 10 minutes.
