beerman2 Posted June 17, 2020 #5 Share Posted June 17, 2020 And the best goes on! Seaman11 at this point I would start looking for á friend with a boat to get you on the water with a Margarita of course. You will get there it's just taking longer than expected. Uncertainty is stressful, that's why Dirty Martini's with 3 olives have become a friend! Cheers!!!!!!

joeyancho Posted June 17, 2020 #7 Share Posted June 17, 2020 The Staten Island Ferry is the only sure bet Cruise that there is now. It offers lovely views of the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan. You can BYOB and enjoy it as you sail. The best part about this Cruise is that it is free. 3
Sweetnspicy Posted June 17, 2020 #8 Share Posted June 17, 2020 🤣🤣🤣🤣 As a very realist personality myself, the optimism in your posts always lifts my spirits. Have you considered buying your own boat? My husband is obsessed with the idea of owning a boat.

If you want to charter a yacht and stay with your family, you can sail just about anywhere... not getting off the boat. But the destination recommended are those locations where this company has yachts to rent,,, for tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars a week. They also say that a boat is a hole in the water where you throw your money. Both of these statements are absolutely true....been there, done that (owned a 34' express cruiser). Three words of advice wrt boats: charter, charter, charter or rent, rent, rent. (ok, six words actually).

You can always come to Ohio and take one of the ferries to Put in Bay or Kelley's Island for a day of drinking /music/food. Just no Casino, but plenty of "sights" to see.

Congrats Seaman11 on your negative test result! As an alternative to beerman2's suggestion, you can come up to the west coast of Michigan and take either a fast ferry (Lake Express) over to Milwaukee, WI from Muskegon, MI (2.5 hrs) or on a historic coal fired steam car ferry (SS Badger - only one left in the world still operating) to Manitowoc, WI from Ludington, MI (4 hrs). Glad you are healthy. You keep doing you Seaman11, keep doing you. Your enthusiasm and optimism for cruising seems boundless!
