Well yeah. I stayed home though.  I have read comments on social media of some waiting 7- 8 days and deciding screw it and go to work or out.

I am relieved in a way, and in a way i wanted a mild case to build up immunity, maybe its better i didnt have it, but then wth did i have that had similar  symptoms?

Well I don't want to send you for more testing, but you could be past the live virus stage.  If you get tested for antibodies, then you will know whether or not you actually had it.

I just got word from a Casino rep (she lives in florid)that said she got word from above that Oct is going to be a go out of florida.  

 

 

Said the FL economy has suffered greatly and that the politicians nor the cdc will block sailings past oct. no matter how many cases of covid a day.   Sounded very encouraging but you still have to wait and see,

yeah but while getting the test are being near another human being you may have been infected,  As far as where to Sail, I would recommend the bathtub

I did the test from my car. Cvs drive up window.  Very safe sterile method.

Even New York is not allowing people from Florida to come to the state without a mandatory quarantine. NY is doing wonderful because their citizens follow the guidance. FL,,, not so much.

Now, that would be funny....if it comes to pass! From memory, could be wrong, at various times you have forecast a return for May/June/July/August/September and November. You have not forecast October, and I recognise you are not personally forecasting that.

 

It looks increasingly like 2021, as many (wrongly christened doom & gloomers, by some) have suggested. 😉

Is this rep from the same cruise line where people spent the last month swearing up and down that their PCC who had been with the cruise line for 30 years and was "in the know" kept telling them that August was a go?

I see freighters still regularly going in and out of the port of Tampa when I’m hiking in the park near my house. I bet you could hop on one of those and maybe even get paid to sail!

right but this wasnt her normal selling speech  , i had already rebooked , she wast trying to sell me.  we were talking off the topic and about covid and the ports.    lets see,  all i am saying is would anyone be surprised if those governors pushed opening up of the ports , even with covid still going on?

I am not from the USA, but my understanding is it is the CDC alone who will make that call. It is therefore surely not in the gift of the Governor of any state to open up ports, or am I misunderstanding the process?

COVID 19 is now so out of control in the US that it probably doesn't matter since no country is going to allow ships full of American passengers without pre-quarantine until a vaccine is found. 

 

I suppose Pride of America could sail except there is no way Hawaii allows mainlanders either.

the 100 day no sail is set to expire in july .  what she referred to was the current administration telling the cdc we need to open up fully by oct even if it is extended  , and the governor in florida at least not interfering with that .

Wouldn't believe a word that rep says. Their job is to sell vacations. No one is sailing out of the US in October.

You are exactly right, though a governor could keep things closed even if the CDC says it is OK to go. The governor could not open without CDC OK.

you are probably correct but im just saying i had already rebooked so there was no selling me. i was just calling to get my fcc put on that cruise .and she told me all this after .   but it is what it is, i found it interesting .

An interesting outline of what safeguards Ponant cruises will be introducing, upon returning. Bear in mind they are 'boutique' ships, between 180ish and 260ish passengers, with acres of space! This is direct from the Ponant CEO, not the opinion of any travel agency or similar.

 

There is no way we would be sailing, with these restrictions in place!
