The problem is how do we know when it is safe?  It has just been clearly proven that being approved (albeit not in the US) did not at all mean it was safe.

I have no reason not to trust what you state as fact.  Your statement is likely more accurate than most that we have seen lately (at least you are posting about Regent which is why most of us are here).

In addition the foreign pasengers are now required to quarantine for 10 days before heading home.  Those who live there can quarantine at home .  All will require another negative test at the end of Quarantine.

 

Appears Poignant has done the right thing with the three options offered.

Most of us cannot read French.  Does the article state that 10 day quarantine before heading home needs to be in Tahiti?  Where will they quarantine at?  What type of supervision?  What is the cost?

My little old computer had a pop up asking if I'd like the page translated from French into, well, pretty much anything I chose.  Same way I'm reading the Norwegian articles. 

 

Or, a lot of people will copy the text and ask Google to translate.

 

May not be the best translation, but a lot of people like to read links for themselves for context.

Well you could use Google Translate.  Here is the entire thread with translations of the important stuff and the link to the french article which you can use google translate  Have seen other posts that they have to quarantine in Tahiti and other posts saying they had flights home.  Only 16 non local passengers.  Others can quarantine at home

It comes up in French, but just clip on the English option in the heading bar. At least on my system. Checked again, I have google translate already on computer. Forgot about that. Used it a lot when doing our round the world trips.

 

doesn’t mention who is paying ( I don’t think) but passengers had to tell ship personal where they would Quarantine. Implied on the island.

Hmm, do we think that maybe all ports will start requiring visitor insurance, like Aruba? Although that max coverage really doesn't seem all that high to me, but every little penny can help

Some news on MSC’s safety plan when it resumes its first limited cruises. For some, this might not be an issue. However, I’m not sure it would appeal to us. We really value our ability to independently explore ports of call... even if we also might participate in a Regent excursion. 
 

MSC Cruises is the latest line to detail its sanitation and safety protocols, but it was the first to add a very specific restriction: guests going ashore at ports of call can only do so on an MSC-approved shore excursion.

I think this was inevitable! However this is less a consideration on Regent with inclusive excursions, my main concern would be the crew then not allowed ashore. That would be very unfair to them.

The reported protocols look to be sensible for the present situation in Europe.

However according to MSC's website the proposed protocols are still awaiting approval from each of the European countries the initial cruises intend to visit:

"As a reminder, our new health and safety operating protocol has been designed on regional and national guidelines set forth amongst other by the EU Healthy Gateways, the European Union-funded Joint Action, and will also align with those issued by the European Maritime Safety Agency, EMSA.
