The list price is $150 million. I find it interesting that they put the Insignia up for sale, which has already had the refurbishment, in lieu of the Nautica that hasn’t.

Just a guess - maybe O knows something we do not. There might be some mechanical issues with Insignia's engine and replacement parts would be hard to come by if needed in the near future?

You can do the refurbishment at any time.

If the brochure statement that the ship was built in 2001 is correct it can't be the Pacific Princess, which was launched in 1999 as R Three. The only R ship launched in 2001 was R Eight, which is the current Azamara Pursuit, which had at one time sailed as Royal Princess. That could explain some of the apparent Princess-like decor in the photos, which may have been taken before Azamara bought her.

PS: This summary cover page of the ships that agency has for sale stats the ship is located in Glasgow, Scotland...not in the US as the detail page states. It just so happens that all three Azamara ships are currently docked in Glasgow.

"Ship Location: Glasgow"

Yes the Three Azamara ships are docked in King George V dock, Shieldhall, Glasgow. We’ve been to see them several time. Well we need to get our cruise fix somehow! 🙈😂

Azamara bought the ship in 2018. Obviously yes, both ships can be for sale. Further S2140 is listed as being located in Glasgow, which just happens to be where all three Azamara ships are currently docked. Pacific Princess is docked in Civitivecchia. And S2140 is listed as being built in 2001, which if correct means it's the Pursuit because R Eight was the only ship in that class launched in 2001. Pacific Princess was launched in 1999. The information on S2140 is cited as being updated in August of 2020, so it's current.

If you open the brochure it states the ship is docked in US. So the advert itself is conflicting.

I know..but the none of the ships that have been cited here as possible subjects of the ad are currently docked in the US. Probably when the brochure was originally produced the ship in questions was located in the US, but that information was never changed when the ship moved. What was updated is the cover page in August, which lists the ship as being located in Glasgow.

Many ships are listed for sale.  It wouldn’t be shocking if all R ships were on the market.  We are not big fans of R ships. We like Azamara and Oceania.  However, those tiny bathrooms are the worst. After sailing on those ships too many times and bumping into the walls, we said enough of the R ships.  Like the Marina and Riviera.  Still not comfortable enough to book. When we do book, it won’t be on an R ship.

I've got this post bookmarked for the day that Oceania announces sail of one or more R ships.

I sure hope they announce the sail of one of the R ships soon. The sale would be another story.

Boy this thread has a life of its own...

The fact that the BOSS says it is Princess and the BOSS says no O ships are for sale -- is that not sufficient??

Except there's apparently more than one R ship for sale. The one the OP asked about per the sales catalog is   currently docked in Glasgow and was launched in 2001. The only R ship fitting that description is the Azamara  Pursuit, not a Princess ship.

This doesn't answer the question whether an Azamara ship is for sale, but it seems clear that none of them has been sold:  Azamara announced today that it is resuming cruising in Spring 2021 with all three ships.

Probably takes a lot longer to sell a ship than your average car 😉
