matymil Posted September 19, 2020 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2020 Just curious for those booked next year, have you booked excursions yet? I looked at my April cruise and was surprised that not only they had a lot already for sale but that some were sold out. I def don't want to wait to long because theres a good chance that you will only be able to take Carnival excursions if you want to leave the port. firefly333 Posted September 19, 2020 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2020 (edited) Nope, I'll take my chances. I know for some that sell out they will open another group for the same thing once onboard. As many cruises as I've had cancelled, 4 ship changes, I'll wait, thank you. matymil Posted September 19, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted September 19, 2020 I just bought mine. I used gift cards that were reimbursed from a canceled cruise so if it gets canceled again im not out cash.
Joe817 Posted September 19, 2020 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2020 Not me. We are in a holding pattern until something happens to make me feel confident that our cruise is actually going to happen. I simply don't want to go through the refund process, if our cruise gets cancelled. If not, then great! We will book an excursion once we are onboard. If that excursion is filled up, I'm quite sure we can find a suitable replacement.
Rare MeganGC1983 Posted September 19, 2020 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2020 We are suppose to sail Jan 9. I’ve looked at shore excursions, but that’s it. Sailing isn’t guaranteed, itinerary isn’t set in stone, enough money is all ready tied up. We will hold out.
Rare shof515 Posted September 19, 2020 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2020 i plan on booking my excursions for my june 2021 cruise in November when they release the black friday shore excursion promo code
cruizinisthebest Posted September 19, 2020 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2020 Not yet. For all the reasons previously noted above. I don't like ship excursions, so I hope they don't go there and make that the only option. But if they do, we'll roll with it. I just wanna sail again.
Rare lazydayz Posted September 19, 2020 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2020 No way. We will wait before giving Carnival anymore more money.

Moviela Posted September 19, 2020 #11 Share Posted September 19, 2020 I looked for excursion aboard Spirit next June. It said to check for excursions once aboard. OK. I will deal with it.
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 19, 2020 #12 Share Posted September 19, 2020 We have 5 cruises booked in 2021 beginning in April. Only thing we have booked are cabanas at HMC, Amber Cove, and Grand Turk because those sell out fast. Anything else will have to wait. 😎
teknoge3k Posted September 19, 2020 #13 Share Posted September 19, 2020 We're sailing at the end of May, and I have all of our excursions booked. Granted, we never use Carnival for excursions and always book with the locals. It's nice to have everything ironed out and locked in. Airbnb is booked pre & post cruise, excursions are booked, cruise is paid in full. Now just to wait on Southwest to open flights for that date and the date to hurry up and get here. MsTabbyKats Posted September 19, 2020 #16 Share Posted September 19, 2020 Nothing booked yet...but been to each port multiple times. I'll check "Black Friday" and see if there's anything we want, but I highly doubt it, mainly because "we've been there, done that". Honestly, since I'm only "cautiously optimistic" I don't want to put too much "mental energy" into the cruise that's a year away.

Might want to double check their refund policy. The cruises that are sailing right now are not allowing independent shore excursions. Im waiting until we know more about what cruising may look like. Booked for Feb 1st and hoping to sail.

I noticed the same thing. I wanted to get one of those poolside cabanas at Amber Cove but we have a toddler and the minimum age is 14 for some reason
RWolver672 Posted September 20, 2020 #19 Share Posted September 20, 2020 We are booked on what turned out to be the third cruise of the Mardi Gras. We are both in our early 70's and a little leery of even going on that cruise. We have until December 7th to make final payment. At that time, we'll decide if we are going or will cancel. Until then, we haven't booked air, hotel or any excursions. If we have to wear masks, can't go out on our own, we wouldn't enjoy the cruise so we might as well stay home and save our money. We enjoy cruising but at this point, we will survive if we don't go on this one.
mss22859 Posted September 20, 2020 #20 Share Posted September 20, 2020 We are playing the wait and see game. Our scheduled 10/2/21 cruise, we have only looked at 1 of our three scheduled ports for Carnival excursions. Depending on what restrictions may or may not be will determine what we decide to do. tallnthensome Posted September 20, 2020 #23 Share Posted September 20, 2020 No, I wouldn’t even make final payment on any cruise right now let alone throw money at excursions on those sailings as well ....
Sugar67 Posted September 20, 2020 #24 Share Posted September 20, 2020 We have the Cheers program already paid for and $750 OBC right now. We are waiting until we are onboard to book our excursions, Spa and specialty restaurants so we can use the total OBC.
