Rare trbarton Posted October 14, 2020 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2020 (edited) Do anyone know if you can ask for silk sheets instead of the regular sheets? I know of someone that can’t use the regular sheets & was considering bringing there own silk sheets. Thanks! Aus Traveller Posted October 14, 2020 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2020 I am sure you could take your own silk sheets and make up the bed when you arrive. Just ask the cabin steward not to change them as they normally do every three days.
Rare trbarton Posted October 14, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted October 14, 2020 I figured that you could bring your own sheets but I was wondering if anybody knew if Princess has different kind of options for sheets or had any experience on a cruise? Thanks! Tom😀
pms4104 Posted October 14, 2020 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2020 I do not believe Princess offers a linen menu.
Schonert Posted October 14, 2020 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2020 (edited) You will be lucky to get a top sheet and a blanket now. My mom does not really like a duvet, and she has to beg for a blanket. Edited October 14, 2020 by Schonert Added info
pris993 Posted October 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2020 We always request 2 extra blankets for the first day, cabin steward has not problem getting them. Satin sheets unlikely, one could call Princess and ask.
mevs904 Posted October 14, 2020 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2020 We used to have to ask for a top sheet, on our last few cruises the beds were made up with one. The cabin steward told us that they were doing that now. We were so pleased that we didn’t have to ask anymore.
skynight Posted October 14, 2020 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2020 Tom, I think you have to ask Princess on this one. I have never heard of alternate sheets on bedding. 8 hours ago, Schonert said: You will be lucky to get a top sheet and a blanket now. My mom does not really like a duvet, and she has to beg for a blanket. The new Princess bedding has a top sheet. It's standard now on just about every ship in the fleet. The duvet is no longer used in the new bedding set up. Extra blankets are available. Just ask the cabin steward. It might take a few days. Timing can depend on the efficiency your cabin steward, and maybe the availability from the laundry.
weedpindle Posted October 14, 2020 #9 Share Posted October 14, 2020 I always ask for baby blue sheets. You will get silk sheets as often as I get my blue ones. This surely get the question of the day award. 2
JF - retired RRT Posted October 14, 2020 #10 Share Posted October 14, 2020 (edited) Pescado Amarillo takes a "sleep sack". No need for sheets. I would guess it's like a big pillow case that she climbs into. She had washes it in the sink. https://www.amazon.com/travel-sheet-sleep-sack/s?k=travel+sheet+sleep+sack Edited October 14, 2020 by JF - retired RRT
riffatsea Posted October 14, 2020 #11 Share Posted October 14, 2020 I have never been to a hotel that had a sheet menu. Some have pillow menus but not sheets. I would not expect a cruise line to offer that sort of choice

I travel for work and am familiar with this concept. If someone has a medical condition that is so extreme they need their own sheets, surely they have their own 'solution' that they use when traveling by other means and it could be used on the cruise as well.

On future Princess cruises the duvet is gone and the bed will have a bottom and a top sheet plus a blanket. Hope that is the case....we hate those duvets.

The cabin steward makes up the bed. The top are separate sheets which the steward folds in such a way that a light weight quilt is in between them. The beds are very comfortable. Search Princess cruises luxury bedding. Lots of information. Should be on all ships, but some ships may not have been converted before the shutdown. Check your ship.
