Well under an hour. That is why they are assigning and enforcing boarding times. You only need to read some of the Quantum reviews to realize that it is a very quick process
Rare twangster Posted February 19, 2021 #3 Share Posted February 19, 2021 Reduced capacity and enforced check in times will make it quick. That's the point... they don't want groups of strangers hanging around inside a terminal waiting for long periods of time.
shipgeeks Posted February 19, 2021 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2021 And assuming the chances are good that they will start with reduced capacity, that will cut down on some of the wait/stand in line time.
DaniDanielle Posted February 19, 2021 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2021 Let’s hope you are right. There are always the ones that show up and expect to get right in hours before they are scheduled 🤪
smokeybandit Posted February 19, 2021 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2021 On the flip side it could mean it takes longer to disembark passengers, so the usual boarding times could be later

molly361 Posted February 19, 2021 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2021 If it is going to take more than 4 hours to board it's time for me to think of a new vacation choice
Ocean Boy Posted February 19, 2021 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2021 More than 4 hrs. to check in would really be attractive for enticing new people to give cruising a try.... not. 4
jalves Posted February 19, 2021 #10 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I voted for 1-2 hours but really think it will be significantly less. More like 15 minutes once they get the system down.

Right, because those groups of strangers are only going to spend the next week together on a ship. 1
Mapleleafforever Posted February 19, 2021 #12 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I feel it will be way faster than it is now. Less than an hour for sure with the new stricter boarding times.

But not jammed into a close space like on an airplane.
OnTheJourney Posted February 19, 2021 #14 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I don't really care as long as I feel like the situation on board (as well as wherever the ship is going) seems like it is once again reasonably safe to resume traveling. OZ. Posted February 19, 2021 #15 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I think around an hour or so. Hoping things will be more streamlined.
smokeybandit Posted February 19, 2021 #16 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I wonder if they will expedite flipping the rooms so people can go right to their room upon boarding instead of milling about common areas
loman Posted February 19, 2021 #17 Share Posted February 19, 2021 I get to the ship after 1 pm and i dont wait at all to board . I just waltz right in . The last thing i want is to wait around to get on. I suspect i wouldnt be waiting any longer than usual .
grandgeezer Posted February 19, 2021 #18 Share Posted February 19, 2021 If they enforce social distancing, six feet apart, there will be a lot less people in the terminal, and it will take longer to board. I'm sure the room cleaning will take longer so that will also back things up. I would be surprised if they started before noon. As far as getting off the ship on disembarkation days, kiss those early flights good bye.

I have barely even looked at flights for my July cruise until 1) I know it's happening and 2) I know what to expect to know what time to book the flight. It should be fast. We fly to locations that require COVID-19 negative tests and it is one more verification at check-in that takes about 15 seconds. If the cruise line requires a vaccination, flashing your CDC card is equally fast. It takes longer to process a passport (as required by homeland security) than anything COVID brings. You mention a "CDC card". Is there such a card? I had my second Moderna shot, have nothing but a little paper card with reminder date of second shot handwritten on it. neverbeenhere Posted February 20, 2021 #24 Share Posted February 20, 2021 Is 4hrs plus the equivalent of "best to arrive a day early"?
