I assume they will let us know before final payment is due!

That wasn't the case when I had an Alaska cruise cancelled a few month ago (scheduled to sail last May).  They were dragging their feet on a refund, so I just clawed it back from my credit card company.

My Oct  Canada/New England is now "default itinerary name".  Oh well, not surprised at all........

My September one on the Breakaway still looks normal. Which ship is yours on?

The same is happening on Princess.  The September and October NE and Canada cruises from NY say "unable to book at this time" for awhile but are not cancelled.  I am booked on the reposition cruise from NY to Ft Lauderdale in November but worry that it will be cancelled if the previous ones are cancelled because then there would be no reason for the ship to be in NY.

New Your is very problematic to place to start your cruise with. I doubt the situation will change drastically any time soon. We need to wait a little longer. The place is a very popular destination

This is inaccurate. I am on the NCL Website right now and I selected the earliest listed month (August) and it appears I can book a Cabin on the Breakaway to Canada/NE for the August 29th-September 5th cruise.

So not ALL Canada and not ALL New York cruises are cancelled until late October.

Lovely.   We're booked on the Epic NY to Puerto Rico repositioning cruise in December.   Part of the reason we booked it was to have a few days in our old home of NY  pre-cruise.

There's no reason to reposition if they aren't in position in NY to begin with.

We're booked on the Rome-NY transatlantic over Thanksgiving. Already assuming it's going to be canceled.

Unfortunately @zerooveride , whether the cruises to Canada are still bookable or not, Canada's ports are not open and very unlikely to open prior to their already posted date of Feb. 2022.

But, dream on.. seems that's all we do now anyway.

i know that, was just making a point that not all NY cruises are closed out

I am on this cruise and I check daily and it has not been canceled.  I even tried to book a shore excursion and it allowed me to do so.  Not sure why it is not canceled since we are sailing to Canada, but it is still on the website and allows bookings.

For an August cruise, perhaps they would change it to a Bermuda itinerary.  When there was a hurricane threatening Bermuda, they changed it to Canada.

On Joy, the 11 Day October 19th out of Miami is showing as the first cruise available now.

Were the earlier Joy cruises in October all out of New York, or was one repositioning to Miami?

Yeah, they were NY to Bermuda followed by a short repositioning cruise. We were on one of the September Bermuda cruises that were cancelled yesterday morning 😞

NCL is supposed to make an announcement today or tomorrow on their ship redeployment plans and reopening plans. We'll see if they actually do it. That will result in a bunch more cancellations as they make plans to slowly ramp up in targeted geographic locations. Other ships will remain on "vacation" in the Med and Asia.

I was booked on the Gem in Oct. I have received all my FCC back into my account already and their was also a 10% cruise discount there also!!! I was waiting for NCL to balk on the discount but it came through.

Ugh - I should have caught up on the blog BEFORE booking a trip this fall.  I called NCL this morning and booked the Breakaway out of NYC to New England / Canada for Mid-October. It lists all the excursions available and airport transfers, etc.

If the port in NYC is actually opened by Sept/Oct, my guess would be that these Breakaway cruises out of NYC to Canada will be switched to either a Bermuda or Bahama cruises as Canada is not allowing cruises until sometime in 2022 and that is why they have not cancelled the Canada cruises yet.

I had a July cruise to Canada in 2014.  A hurricane came up the coast and they diverted the cruise to Bermuda!  They announced the change before we boarded (they delayed the boarding and it was getting more than too warm in the terminal).  Crowd cheered.

Yeah,,, we're hoping that the cruise rules in Canada change soon.

Folks look at rules being cast in stone, but rules can change. For example, New York just stated allowing indoor fitness classes to restart. And a few days ago, lifting the curfew on casinos, movie theaters, bowling alleys, gyms, etc.

One day there is a rule. Next day,,,, not so much as reopening continues.
