I didn't see the later posts.  Leaving the do

I'd ask for somebody else.  And check the senior organizations in your area, they can often run errands, this might help with the driving issue until another aide can provide it.

Great idea Bruno. Also if he's a veteran the VFW and American Legion offer ride help as well as visitation. My dad had 3 younger vets that came by his group home. They even took him out to lunch and brought steaks over one night and cooked them on the grill. Daddy really liked them.

Tarragona….continued…

You can get an idea of the incline from these pics

Just because I liked the skyline 😉

And now we enter another archaeological site.  As our guide said, you need to peel the layers of the onion, but it can be done

We are underground - in huge catacombs that were actually storage/warehouse areas.  The city was built over them - amazing.

Then we went to where they had preserved the  bases of statues.  They were reused in some cases.  The head taken off and another head put on.  this base has all 4 sides used for 4 different people as people forgot about one and wanted to remember the next.  amazing.

The pic above is the story.

Exactly, call your senior center. A lot of times these organizations don't advertise, we have a couple local groups that I didn't know existed until friends told us about it.  During the lockdowns they offered grocery shopping services.

Great start to the morning seeing the Disney Wonder ship in the San Diego Harbor.  Haven’t seen a ship in the San Diego harbor since debarking the Eurodam, May, 2019. Love meatloaf. We are traveling today, who knows what fine foods we will find!! Prayers to all and hope for solutions for health aides, firefighters and those who go to work each day.

Ignore the churches - they were added later but everything else is original and 1,000’s of years old.

Some of the ruins date back prior to Rome ones.

Tarragona…. Last one

After we were done our 2.5 hour tour which turned into a 4 hour one (our guide knew we were interested and like several other private tours on this cruise, once he sensed that, he was happy to share more information and experiences)

He showed us the sneaky short way back to the train station (easy peasy since it was downhill) and took us to the mercado where we all got a light bite to fill in time until the train

FDE1DA97-BF59-4D3E-9347-F23434CCC2C4.jpeg.6abdb3b52da393be779920ab6ba475a9.jpeg

Food at the mercado was good and well priced.  Fair warning though the menus are 1/2 Spanish and 1/2 Catalunya.

Our little group at the train station ready to head back to Barcelona

Happy to say that 2 of them are on my cruise in May and the other 2 on my cruise in November next year. 👍

Good morning from Quartzsite.  It will another busy day cleaning the layer of summer dust/dirt off the patios, getting the outside furniture out and more unloading the motorhome.

An interesting collection of days.  No beards here, but we do like meatloaf.  Multicultural diversity is very good.

Like the quote, the meal and wine.  Not sure about the drink.

We were in Tarragona before a cruise in 2001.  @kazu  Thanks for the pictures.

Such sad news about Colin Powell.  He will be missed.

@Seasick Sailor and @SusieKIslandGirl  HAPPY BIRTHDAY

@mamaofami  Carol, what a quandary.  No one should feel uncomfortable in their own home, but your family should decide what is best for all.

I'll check back later but need to get back to work.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily and all who contribute.

Good days. I like a good meatloaf; it's not something I make often for just me. Muliticultural diversity is important and should be cherished. I was glad when my BFF got rid of his beard, but it had gotten scraggly. A neat beard is nice.

Funny quote, but sad when really true.

The meal sounds good; shrimp is one of the few seafood things I'll eat. I rarely make it at home. I like the drink and wine.

I've been to Spain, but not today's port. Thanks for the pictures.

It was a cold 42F here this morning, and the house was about 64F. I try to hold off on putting on the heat until Nov 1, but we'll see. It's heating up as the day goes on and the sun is out. I slept almost 9 hours (unheard of for me); wonder if the glass of wine I had last night had anything to do with it!

RIP Colin Powell.

@Seasick Sailor, @SusieKIslandGirl Happy Birthday!

@summer slope On my PC it's Alt 0176 to get the ° symbol. It's the only one I memorized, lol.

@AncientWanderer Welcome back!

@kazu Sad about the firefighter who was lost. Great pictures. Thanks for posting them.

@mamaofami Wow, Carol, what a mess with the aide. He's untrustworthy and that would bother me enough to say he's done. But I understand your dilemma.

@cunnorl I hope your sister can get excellent medical guidance.

@1ANGELCAT Maybe there are different types of biopsy that they want to discuss?

@smitty34877 So sorry to hear Tana is having more issues. Prayers.

Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

Stay safe everyone.

Now that you are watching for sneaky behaviour, it will be easier to spot. And though he has a second chance, if anything else happens, that should be the end. And if you or your son have picked up the vibe that this young man could be a vicious or vindictive person, he does not belong in your home or your life.  Either way, Bruno is right about changing the locks / codes to enter your house the moment this aid leaves your lives regardless of when or why. And a change of aids when the VA services kick in is a very graceful way out.

He doesn't have a key, that's why he left the door open. Not open all the way, just a bit. He also doesn't have the garage code. My son hasn't met him and he really is a very sweet man. I'm going to let it ride for now.

I just had a phone call from the doctor office about an appointment for tomorrow morning. I’m now being told this is a consultation and not the biopsy, I’m confused. I just want to get it over with🙏

This is So difficult, but sometimes there are different ways of proceeding and different types of biopsies.  Sometimes a biopsy  may miss the affected area, so at times you may have to have a second one.  So this may be a blessing in disguise, to get an accurate one.   Hope you get a great surgeon who will help you decide.  It’s tough to live with not knowing, but really we just have each day so take it day by day.  Sometimes these things just have to unfold, and we have to live with uncertainty. Sending good thoughts!

Calella de la Costa,Malgrat, lloret de mar, and Salou.

Now we don't lie in the sun Tarragona looks interesting after seeing your photos.

@kazuThanks so much for the beautiful pictures.  We've never been to Europe (and not sure when or if we will), so these are the next best thing.  You should be a tour guide!!

Laura

I would highly recommend a 14 night cruise around the Mediterranean and Adriatic with a 2-3 night pre-cruise and/or post-cruise stay in Rome or Barcelona.

Wow, our news is myopic.  I googled "St Lawrence boating accident" and got nothing; had to go to cbc.ca to get the story.  What a tragedy and not a place to be at this time of the year.

Roy

I have to wonder what the people in that boat were thinking.  The Lachine Rapids are a never a good place to be, and this late in the year the danger would be quite severe.  On my first Blount cruise (over 25 years ago so I was much younger) we docked in Montreal and I booked a jet boat tour.  It was INTENSE.  I remember being in line to board the boat and being warned my watch was in danger of being ripped off my wrist.  Fortunately, a fellow passenger passed by while I was in line and took my watch.  On that intimate vessel there were no door locks and my watch was sitting on my bed when I got back to my cabin.

I just listen to the guides.  When I am really familiar with a place, I play guide at times.  Showed a few people around Barcelona and Sagrada Familia  a few times (you can never see it enough), Malaga & El Moro.  But mostly we go to some places we haven’t seen and I am happy to pay a professional to get the most out of the experience.  You learn a lot and the ones we had that cruise were amazing.

I thought the same thing, Roy.  The rapids were raging and it is so sad that a rescuer lost his life to save theirs.

Wow!  That’s lovely to have such passengers with kindness and honesty.
